@96horseluvr As a general rule (especially the horses used at this level) vaulting horses are well trained all around. They are trained in high level dressage and endurance. We use our horses for three other disciplines to keep their mind and body fresh, they also live outside in our farm in a herd. The "child" is called the "flier" the smaller the better!
@96horseluvr actually when the FEI did a study on which discipline had the "happiest" (least stall vices, heath problems ect.) vaulting horses came out way ahead of the other disciplines. :)
@vaultdiva247 first of all I love how are SN are similar. :)
Also, I was working there and they are SO good to that little boy. He's a pin thief but he gets away with it. :D He doesn't weigh anything so they just throw him around, his talent is having no fear. You can tell they have never hurt him, he trusts them fully. Its awesome to see, its too bad they didn't fully show what they can do. Their coach is very nice.
Wow, only one woman on the team. Usually it's the reverse.

lol, vaulting horses do NOT spend their life running in circles. they are usually cross trained in a few disciplines :)

@kara2lucy don't worry too much - the bases know that the flier's life is more important than their own :)
