I think Blade's adaptation of vampires was the most "realistic" of all...only slightly stronger physically than a normal human,a bigger life span (but not immortal),taking them some time to recover from injuries,having a heartbeat (like anything that talks and moves) and with their typical vulnerabilities (sunlight,garlic,silver etc)...

This is much better than the "flying demigods" of True Blood or the "sleepless demigods that sparkle upon sunlight" of Twilight!
