    Only a chip upgrade and the vw didn't lose by much. I hear lots of honda boys with their after market turbos, the truth is that engine is weak and won't be able to handle it. My buddys prelude engine got fucked during a race, new engine is ALL he needed lol

    At the end of the day don't be to happy, you beat STOCK factory turbo good job!

    Race my 1.8t with stock turbo but the right upgrades that put me close to 280whp, dyno to prove it

  • @18Turbo220 yes. it is a motor swap if you didnt catch it. and your car is faster than a few gti's i have seen but i am more than confident i could get you. and no im not just being a troll. based on the vids you ave you gave it all it had. which is good. but the thing is. you have id say 30 more horses than me and about 50 more ft lbs. but my car weights in at more than a thousand pound less than yours. thats a big difference. but your gti isnt slow to say the least

    1.8T's are way more tunable aswell. Get a stock 180bhp 1.8T and get a remap for £250 will give you 220-230bhp, tell me how much bhp you can get out of a Civic b20 for £250?

  • @18Turbo220 negative. the b20 is the slowest i assure you. they are also the most prone to blow up. the cylinder walls are super thin. and i wouldnt waste my time with a b20 to try and see how muuch hp i can get. i prefer the solid b18c or the b16. either way. with a turbo car you have more option for tune. n/a you dont. so dont come at me with that shit. and i also have a 1993 civic cx gsr hatchback. that has 180bhp thats n/a. and i would happily meet you somewhere for you to try an beat me.

  • In all fairness, the Honda won. Winning's winning.

    Since the Golf managed a way better 5.20 over 5.49 on the start and even then Honda won, we can assume that it had a lot more HPs than the Golf to play catch up.

    Plus, with all that street-undrivable rocket -fuel-only high compression setup, turbo lag is not an issue for the little Honda.

  • for these cars to run these times they musta had some stuff... il guarantee you the gti had all bolt ons... stock turbo though and that eg pprob had a type r with some minor boltons or a b20 vtec or k20 or somthing decently big like that as well as a somewhat gutted interior... those are some fasttttttttttttt hatches

  • civic had a honda crv engine block (b20 bottom), a 99 civic si dohc vtec head (b16 head)= b20 vtec= good power= 13 sec at 1/4 mile

    p.s if he had a k20, it would've been in the 12's easily

  • The K04-001 is a direct replacement. You will need to change fuel injectors and your ECU will need programing. The K04-022 is a little different. the down pipe has to be changed to a different one to fit and I think the oil and coolant lines too, but the 022 is a little stronger towards the last rpms before redline.

  • the 022 take the work but is the only one worth fitting, another option is a KO3/KO4 hybrid that will bolt straight to the golfs ko3 manifold on to get similar power

  • the K03/K04 is just the K03S which is stock on 2002up 1.8Ts and cost as much as the K04. The difference between the K04 and the K03S is about the same difference as a Chipped 1.8T and a non-chipped 1.8T. I ran the K04 on my 2003 and the difference was significant.

  • Im talking about a KO4 hybrid that bolts to the KO3/s manifold. available from CR Turbos

  • that's what the K03s is. It's a K03 turbine wheel whith a K04 compressor wheel. The only thing they could have done is change the 001compressor wheel for a 022 compressor wheel. Might as well just do the K04 as far as direct bolt-ons go. It's te biggest power gains without having to change the turbo layout. The manifold for the K03, K03s, K04-001, and K04-022 is all the same.

  • Bth really cool cars. I know, I've had both a 2002 1.8T GTi AND a '99 Civic Si hatch. The GTi was stock (save for suspension mods, which I do to all my cars), and the Civic had a very nice JDM B16A swap done. I don't care about feuds, it's as pointless as Ford/Chevy guys talking smack to each other. I love hot hatches, and I would even drive a Peugot 106 or a Renault Clio, it doesn't matter to me. A car is a car, and it all depends on how they're built.

    mods: short ram intake and 2' exhaust.

    golf: gti 6spd lsd. 15' street slicks 225whp according to driver. stock turbo, all the bolt ons, tuned. and more.

  • Why did you get a b20...it's a horrible motor, unless you've got b18 or h22 heads on it. Should have just gone with a K20 or B18C.
