Brilliant stuff :) And as for critics they can all F@@K OFF , i bet not one critic can draw or paint only give their veiws as to how they want us to draw or paint. Painting , drawing is/should be ones own personal style not what the "critics" think is in style at that specific time. Keep up your good work :))))
amazing! i wish i had the ability to paint like that. unfortunately i cant paint to save myself if my life depended upon it....though i am good with pencil drawings lol
I loved your painting. I paint for the enjoyment and I am learning to banish the critic. I wonder why there are so many unhappy people out there. Maybe if they spent some time working on painting themselves they wouldn't feel the need to spend time judging others and spreading their negativity. Keep painting and thanks for sharing. You inspire others to paint.
Beautiful painting! I wish you had shown the area of inspiration that you were painting from. . . . so sad that it is now gone, but wonderful that you have captured it for all to enjoy! Thank you for being such an inspiration!!

Hello. Thank you for sharing your process. How great that you captured it before "civilization" moved in. I am an acrylic painter and I am getting ready to move to natural landscape. Can you tell me if you struggle with acrylics plein air? Do you use open paints or retarder? I appreciate your reply. Thank you.
@Kyasuriin666 - U usually let a section become more dry while working on a different area of the painting. Acrylic works differently when it's almost dry, it can come off the canvas, smear or add color to a glaze. You can also use a wadded-up paper towel to achieve a quick random under texture while it's drying, then glaze paint over it. Hope this helps, Thanks for watching
Thank you! Beautiful work. I am working on trees in my landscapes. This painting helps. I havn't painted in two years and needed the inspiration to start again!
Thank you. This one is a memory now as it was sold on ebay and the area is unrecognizable as mass-humanity apartments for the upper class. Thank you for watching and taking the time to leave a nice comment. Good luck with your art works.
Truly wonderful! I love painting more then anything, i'm still only 16 and I try to get better at painting. I get some really great tip's from your video's how I can get better. Onse again wonderful painting!
I think its a beautiful painting. i paint too and im only 21 but paintermasters say that maybe im the next monet, i dont think so but egal. i would have mixed a lil red to the blue and paint the top of the sky a lil bit darker so it could have deepness. but its a fantastic painting keep up the good work.
You are an amazing painter, from watching your videos I'm learning alot on how to paint more with acrylic paints. They are the only thing I will paint with anything else I won't touch or paint with no interest in it. But my question is With a palette Do you layer it on the canvas as soon as there is a back ground like the sky?
wow, i was truly speachless when i saw the final product. you are an amazing artist, and while i have my own technique, and you yours, i hope to one day be as good as you. thank you so much for sharing this wonderful peice with the world, and please continue to make video's of your beautiful works of art.
Thank you. That's one of the GREAT things about art is that everyone sees things differently. So it is TRULY self expression. Thank you for the nice comment and thanks foir watching.
this is an off the topic question but first i like to say wow your an amazing artist. i am young painter too but my little brother steals my paintings and dissans all the time to pick up women and say they are his own. Do you get a lot of female fans and numbers, heh?
Thanks for the compliment. I've been married for 37 years, so I don't use my paintings to pick up women. I do occassionally give a painting to folks (men and women) whose innerspirit tells me they are truly a nice person.
Good question! Each have their own strengths: Oils have a deeper color resonance, slower to dry, therefore, more workable to mold into your final painting. Acrylics are a close match to the textures and color depth of oil. you MUST work fast as they dry FAST. I keep mine wet longer with a misting spay bottle of water. One nice advantage is that an acrylic plein air painting is dry before you leave the site. As in oils, buy professional quality paint as they have more pigment making life easier.
I wet my canvas (or panel) to keep moisture in the paint from drying too quickly. Make each brush stroke count. Use large brushes for large areas, smaller for detail work. MIST your work and palette FREQUENTLY. You can glaze it with color mixed with LIQUITEX HIGH GLOSS VARNISH I use instead of medium,it is not as white (dries clear) which affects color judgement. Use ARTISTS QUALITY paint, cheap stuff has fillers ,makes good coverage difficult.
Actually, most of my best paintings were done in incliment weather, the kind of weather that won't let you safely set up a time-lapse camera. Use your creative license to make the scene what you feel, taking your inspiration from what you see. trust your "inner voice" & look hard for those subtle warm colors in cold places and cold colors in warm places then bring them to your canvas... you can do it.
how do u paint the sky? I paint myself but I need help with the sky and some on the tree? could u tell me how to layer the sky like u did in this video?
Hi, thanks for watching. I used a 3" brush wetting the canvas first with water (using acrylics), and applied a pink (crimson/cad yellow/white) at the horizon line (more cad yellow towards the center. Then using ultramarine blue/white blended a sky making it darker (more blue) towards the top. Then mottled white for the cloud effects highlighted with pink & yellow oxide. Later, it was spot glazed with a thin white/acrylic varnish mixture to add depth & "light". I hope this helps, Best of Luck!
I must apologize to you, Florida has no real mountains, so my experience in painting mountains is based on other painters. I did, in 1977 visit Alaska, and DID NOT have any desire to return to the swamps, mosquitos and flatlands of Florida... but salary and friends brought me back.
It is possible to apply the Bob Ross techniques to acrylics to paint mountains, but you must do it much faster as the paint dries far more quickly.
Good luck.... it IS possible. Thanks for watching!
These are acrylics, which can be purchased at any art supply store and also at Walmart stores. I have an extensive selection of colors, but ALL these colors can be mixed from basic sets. Thanks for watching

Oh Great! This is a song from the YouTube REPLACEMENT songs selection... which is unbelievably limited... may just have to replace the audio track with silence. Thanks for your input, and thanks for watching
I loved the daring placement of the sun so late in the painting. Lovely technique, though I privately wish you'd pushed those two trees on the left just a bit more - one more color would have made such a dramatic finish.
Thanks, the light was changing rapidly.. as you can imagine with such a large plein air, but the colors in the original are more vibrant than show on this early youtube video. thanks for watching,
Hello and thanks for the comment. My camera (Sony DCR-TRV25) in "interval mode" takes 1/2 second every 30 seconds which equals 1 second of video for each minute of actual painting time. So it took approximately 2 hours to paint. Thanks for watching.
Loved it. I'm a rookie and would love to see some videos in real time, but I enjoyed this. I sang along with the song the whole time I was watching. Nice painting too!
Gary - how did you get the atmospheric effect in your painting? It's neat. I love how you captured the atmosphere. I work in watercolor - any advice other than coating with thin wash of guache?
Hello and thanks for watching. this is acrylic which dries very fast, allowing transparent glazes. So the morning atmosphere is a glaze of titanium white and ochreapplied at about the 2 minute mark in the video. it was just "scumbled" in (dry brush technique), and a few highlights elsewhere. Hope this helps. Thanks for the nice comment.

Wow i loved the music, and i love the way you put the image into your art, very nice combination of the art of music and art. Very impressive.
