I was there that day and i was right next to the medical centre, took some photo's of the ambulance and the air ambulance and a worried Jean Todt...was funny to see Jean Todt keeping hold of his comb over as the chopper took off :)
This looks so similar to Senna spearing off at Tamburello in 94 - just proves life or death in the fast lane is purely a matter of luck!
(And if Schui had been killed here like Senna unfortunately was, he would have a mediocre record - 2 World Championships in nearly 9 years compared to Senna's 3 in just 8 years. So if either Senna hadn't been killed, or Schui was too, Senna would have the better stats.
@mallamoozoo To be fair though- Senna hit a concrete wall at over 180mph. Schumacher hit four rows of tyres at about 140 in a car which was much safer.
@mallamoozoo schui fanboy what an insult haha im guessing your another typical senna fan who is jelous of michaels success so you say had senna not been killed he would have won more championships than schumacher which could have been possible but it didnt happen, im sick of hearing people say about what senna could have done had he not died well fact is he did die unfortunately and didnt do what you people say he would have.
@85devotee - oh please. schumi deserved the 94 title, seeing as the stewards initiated a championship-showdown fixing by banning michael for 3 races so hill could catch up..
in 1997 he was disqualified from the championship, he didn't win... however he was clearly 2 classes above villenueve that year.
@rednech123 and @Oscaracciato75.... the guy is a race driver.. you may dislike him but that doesnt mean you should say what ever you want.. They are racing drivers and not criminals that you want them to die!! I think you should get a life rather than saying these stupid things about great people!!

senna would have survived a similar crash in his 94 car aswell. the problem was that parts of the suspension went trough his visor and damaged his head. that wouldnt happen in this case.
When he returned after this accident, he blew everyone away by over a second in qualifying. It was a stunning return. He made the rest of the drivers look like idiots
mallamoozoo - what a load of hypothetical nonsense! For the record, Schumacher's first full year was 1992, so 1999 was his 8th full season. Senna's first season was 1984, making 1994 (when he died) his 11th. But what you wrote is nonsense, in spite of , not because of, the incorrect stats.
What a load of twisted stats! - Senna won his 3rd title in 91 - not 94 - his 8th season. Schui had only 2 at 8 seasons. All Achumi's records came at Ferrari after that - a chance Senna never got.
@rooster1066what a load of inconsistent double standards- typical schui fanboy twisting statistics- you discount Schui's 91 season where he did 6 GP and yet count Senna's 94 season where he only did 3 GP. Anything to make Schui look better than he really was huh? LOL- doesnt matter- doesnt fool anyone- we saw in 2010 how ordinary he really was all along - beaten in every quali and race by a b-grade team-mate who never won a race ever! - clear to all now schui needed the best car AND team orders.
Furthermore - Senna's crash was mechanical failure. Schui's was driver error - he went in too fast! So it is doubly unfair that Senna died and Schui didn't!
The fact is that Schumi's rear brake failed. Stowe isn't a very difficult bend. There's no way anybody would've gotten that bend that wrong w/o some sort of mechanical problem.
His front wheels are locked - so i think there was no brake failure - it was a result of him going in too fast to overtake (granted - its near humanly impossible there- it was a ballsy attempt.
But anyway - even Bernie Ecclestone said "If Senna's career hadn't ended prematurely he would have won more titles than Michael - I think possibly 4 to 2"
oh, geez, Senna was pretty old when he died, so I don't think he would've won many more championships had he not died at Imola. At the end, Schumi would've have had better stats even if Senna didn't die at Imola.
I do believe Senna was a bit better driver than Schumi and certainly a more exciting one; however, you do have to take account of the fact that overtaking in F1 became very difficult starting around late 90s due to many regulation changes. Don't sell Schumi short.
@bluemonolith88 Pretty old? Senna was 33 at start of 1994 - Schui is 42 already and 2011 hasnt started yet! Typical Schui fanboy - unable to read basic statistical facts.
@mallamoozoo Ahat the fuck, dude? What "basic stastistical facts" did I misread? I wrote that "Senna was pretty old when he died," which is true since Senna was 34 when he died. 34 in F1 is pretty old. Surely 42 is older than 34, but I wasn't commenting on Schumacher. I was commenting on Senna. Geez, I don't know why people like you leave shit comments on YouTube for no good reason what-so-ever.
@Zadan that's not true. in 1994 F1 season, Senna was definitely much older than the average. there were only about 5 guys who were older than senna in 94 like mansell, brundel, etc.
