@heinzpo yup, he's just sayin that despite his sister is in jail for stealing handbags and a few of his friends being in jail for other dodgy dealings he still likes them despite the fact he's got famous and now has a roll royce, and he lstill likes the prison guards as well 8)

@edrusharry Thanks for the explanation Edrusharry. When you are not familiar with the slang you can understand that most of the times language is not what they taught you in school or language academies.
The song is then sung in proper English, which i like.
Brilliant album. Loved this since I first heard " Ain' t ya comin' home ?" blast out of the radio in 1970. My brother in law saw them with Johnny Winter at Fillmore East and says they kicked ass on stage. Wish I had been there.
@unknownkingdom As others have commented, the introduction is Mick doing his impression of a south ('sarf") London accent. A common stereotype of the inhabitants of that part of England is working class petty criminals (I write as a long-time former resident). Mike's prologue is intended to be humorous. In real life he doesn't sound anything like this -his normal speaking voice is, well, a normal English accent.
Good on ya Mick was a beauty his guitar was so much a part of J.T. making it and Blodwyn Pig was amazing wish I had been able to catch them but they didn't tour that often.
It's a wonderful song this. On my L.P it's scratched to heck yet still beats the cd I re bought it on. Lovely pics here, thanks for making and uploading this.
Brilliant song writing and a great intro. This will live beyound. Thanks so much for posting. One of my great favorite songs of all time, this album .... something else.

@heinzpo yup, your spot on Heinzpo it's "My Sister" and the word porridge is english slang for "prison".

Mick kept the music alive that made the 1st Jethro Tull album so damn good ! So glad he formed Bloodwyn Pig after he left Tull.

Is that Mick speaking at the beginning?
Boy, what a contrast between him and Ian Anderson. Ian has a haughty upper class accent. I can barely even understand Mick...
