  • i really don't see what all the horror atter all they are just spiders plus i'm not arid of spiders any well.

  • Dude, they're Brachypelma smithis. There is no way its gonna hurt you. Chill out.

  • Tarantulas are harmless, though. Like seriously, live and let live.

  • I feel sorry for the Spiders, getting driven over by the car.. :(

  • This is the first film I ever remember seeing, sometime in 1983-4 when I was a little kid and it played as a Saturday Afternoon movie (remember when they used to do those for filler?). Needless to say, I adore William Shatner and my taste in film is a little strange...

  • "Help! Harmless Tarantulas!"

  • y'all... humans are animals. Seriously, look it up, this is elementary biology. Living things can be animal, vegetable, fungal, bacterial, protozoan.

P.S. Spiders aren't insects, they're arachnids. And that's in the animal kingdom. So are insects. Insects are not a kingdom all on their own.

P.P.S. However I don't know if animal cruelty laws cover spiders.

  • The fuckers killed so many spiders...seriously, people are scary.

  • I was the nexy victim you dickhead! I got bit by a housespider you gypsy cunt!

  • i 'm no way in hell afraid of spiders at of any kind -n-the best way i would kill a army of them is set the whole dammm house on fire!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I feel sorry for those spiders.

  • Yeah they don't look that dangerous if William Shatner can beat them

  • LOL she shot a fucking tarantula.

  • LOL there on the light bulb there like ooooo shiney

  • its beacause your bigger then them if i was one i would defend myself too

  • POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT!!! Can someone tell me; is this the movie where in the end the whole town is enveloped in on huge spider web? I saw this movie when I was a kid (40 now) and it creeped the HELL outta me. What was my mother thinking? Course we only got 3 channels back then. To this day when my wife asks me to kill a spider, I tell her, Don't worry about it, it won't hurt you." Just so I don't have to go near it.

  • @jimmyjointjohnson

You and me both, Jimmy. I saw the Shatner one and I still remember it. I hated it. And for 30+ years I always thought the end he fights a gigantic spider. But then after this trailer finished and it showed related videos, I found the one I'm posting at the end. And in the below trailer/movie, there's a gigantic spider.

Now I'm not sure which one it was! But I DO know I hate spiders:(

  • @jimmyjointjohnson

Sorry, wouldn't let me post it. But it's 1975 film INVASION OF THE SPIDERS. That's the one with the gigantic spider.

  • @jimmyjointjohnson . Looks like you didn't quite get the answer you were looking for. Yes, the town is covered in a huge spider web at the end. It's obviously a miniature set rather than fake web material used on real buildings.

  • @jimmyjointjohnson yes it is that movie

  • No spiders were hurt in the making of this movie.........

  • @captainmedvar yup and there is snow in Australia

  • @sultaa86 , actually, there is! In the southeast part of the country. Lots of ski resorts there!

  • @harshbarj dude...cocaine isn't real snow

  • if only Creepie was here!

  • Awesome movie that i watched a lot on t.v. as a kid.

  • @TheAltair4

Same here, i own the new anniversary remastered DVD and looks good. Do you think this movie is Arcanophobia's ancestor?

  • @Johnlindsey289 There is no doubt that Aracnophobia was inspired by this classic.

  • @TheAltair4 I first saw it on TV in either 1980 or 1981. I was in high school then.

  • @kenpalmer1965 Cool! I saw it back in the mid 80's when i was around 7 or 8 myself.

  • DAM NATURE, YOU SCARY

  • what do they WANT!? oh my god how about a better movie to star in!

  • this movie is the reason i am afraid of spiders...lol. i saw this when i was 7 years old and it scared the crap outta me!

  • I don't care, anything with William Shatner is worth watching even if he is a putz in the movie, or the movie just sucks like this crapola.

  • As though im not a bigger fan of spiders but this is just fucked up. Killing hundreds of tarantulas for a shitty b movie. Disgusting humans..

  • how did they get so many spiders?

  • Im recording this. Is it good?

  • this film stars William Shatner.

And has been accused of breaking lots of animal right laws because of killing and abusing real spiders

  • These......... SPIDERS are.......... takingoverthetown. I must... DO! something...... tostopthembeforeit'stoolate.

    KHAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Batman8657 More like (Beam me up scotty...get me....the fuck ...out of this town)

  • scifi classic

  • to scary for me to watch... lol

  • poor spiders, they were just marching for equal rights.

  • It's kind of funny how none of those Spiders have any idea just what the fuck is going on.

  • This movie is fucking AWESOME. I love it.

  • A hammy [William] Shatner battles yucky spiders. Too bad the spiders don't win.

  • OMG RELAX. Its just spiders!!!

  • @balderrobot1996 Go suck a dick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Spiders have souls too ya know

  • "An army of deadly predators, destroying everything in their path..." Do they mean humans? Look at em jump on that car, break down that fence! Humans scary.

  • @dogdonut3 That was a pretty intense scene, meaning the people trying to get into the sheriff's car when they spotted him. That's desperation for you! They had no idea why these spiders were attacking and killing everyone. I guess you have to ask yourself "what would you do if it were you." The sad thing was there was nothing that the sheriff could do for them anyway because they were already dead for all practical purposes from all of the spider bites they had incurred.

  • You'll be the victim who wastes their life watching it BAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Actually, I like films like this but I really thought it was made for TV?!?

  • LOL at 1:17 they lost the "no animals were harmed during the making of this film" thing.

  • I remember seeing this at the theater. LOL

And I remember the country song... "I'm gonna go back to the green side of the mountain" or something like that.

  • The spiders want out of this film.

  • This was back when you could hurt or kill animals on movie sets...

  • @TDog14126 spiders aren't anaimals. But they should be protected either way.

  • @mrfivegold how can you say that are not animals? Something that is alive is either plant, animal, or human. Just because a spider is a bug does not mean it is an animal. All living things are plant, animal, or human. Spiders aren't human or plants....

  • @TDog14126 their part of the insect kingdom and are pretty damn creepy.

  • @mrfivegold lol, insects are still animals. i am ok with big spiders, it's the small jumpy ones that i hate...

  • @TDog14126 by that definition then humans in the film is considered "animal abuse too".

  • @mrfivegold not really....humans are humans,not animals.

  • @TDog14126 insects are insects, humans are humans, and animals are animals.

  • @TDog14126 insects are insects, humans are humans, and animals are animals.

  • I was in High School in Camp Verde during he filming of the Kingdom of the Spiders in 1976--the film company brought in hundreds of plastic spiders. There will be a reunion on October 30th in Camp Verde (85 miles north of Phoenix) which will feature many of the original cast members. If Shatner does not attend, I am wanting to instigate a William Shatner impersonator contest.

  • @conciergejane Report back on it! sounds cool

  • no lie my great grandpa bill coontz played clyde in this movie

  • I have two DVD versions of this movie. Underrated as hell. It's a classic, plain and simple.

  • that would seriously SUCK

  • there's a lot of people who are scared of spiders but i'm not one of them.

  • @russellhughes84 Well, aren't you a special little faggot? lol

  • Uh Tiffany Bolling's character is an arachnologist not an entomologist. You see the field of entomology only covers insects. Arachnids are covered by arachnology.

  • I LOVE SPIDERS THEY R AMAZING I WANT A BUNCH OF SPIDERS 2 CRAWL ALL OVER ME!!!!

  • I remember this movie when I was a little kid. It was on TNT and I saw it twice! This was in the 90's. I always wondering if they actually killed spiders in this movie when the car ran them over and the light bulb blew up. I think they did.

  • @whitedragonawa they sure did, i think they used around 5000 tarantulas for this movie and many of them died during the procces of the filming. They should make a movie called,The terror of humanity or something cause some people makes me ashamed of being human..

Its really one of a kind movie cause a movie like this would never been made today cause of the animal rights. Kingdom of the spiders is a fucking animal abusive crime movie...I hate the people that made it

  • @lfgubrs Yeah I guess its wrong. But they are just spiders...I really liked this movie as a kid though.

  • @whitedragonawa Well i cant decide what others should think but personally i think its totally wrong to abuse and kill innocent animals just to make a crappy b movie.

  • @lfgubrs Actually recently it has been confirmed that there is a remake of this movie called Kingdom of the Spiders 3D. I hope that they do not hurt any of the spiders since spiders are awesome. It would be awesome to see Xray scenes of the spiders puncturing human skin with they're fangs XD

  • @islandsnorkler If its called 3D its prob computer animated spiders, which is how it should be instead of using real ones. hahah that would be sweet wouldnt it xd

  • impressive make up effects, cheesy special effects, good plot seen this on dvd and on the veoh webstie a couple of times, they killed a lot of real spiders in this movie

  • i remember liking this movie a lot when i was a kid

  • ok , WHAT, exactly do these spiders do other than just kind of just crawl around? they dont seem poisonous and they arent devouring people ..so whats the beef ? how do they crash cars and stuff?

  • @PHAEDRIDER they are bad drivers.

  • another great animal/insect horror film is a black & white film called "Them" about giants ants...great movie.

  • @drb352 Ok spiders are not insects. They are arachnids.

  • This movie made me piss my pants when I was a child. And to all those green hippies here that are so unbelievably sad about spiders actually be killed int he movie: get over it, man...

  • @SamHawkens I get your drift about people should get over it that they used real spiders and killed them on the set but hey.. why dont they make a movie about the ww2 holocaust and kill real people on set to recreate it while they are at it? It should be awesome and realistic

  • This movie is a lot better than The Giant Spider Invasion.

  • @brentzilla33 agreed

  • "no animals were harmed during the making of this movie. Except that car drive-over scene. And stuff"

  • The '70's people were obsessed with animal horror movies.

  • good lord, just light a fire around you, they're not even that big, plus they arent even poisonous. look at all those people screaming and running into crap because. "O god theres a non, poisonous spider on my foooot! Lets run into a pole. LOL they just run into everything. they killed millions of spiders to make this pathetic movie

  • @step8892 Why even watch the trailer then? Get lost, fag.

  • Hehe I love the scene where the pilot screams like a little girl and crashes.

  • the ending of this movie creeped me out something fierce....lol

  • @drb352 I didn't get the ending for nothing. All I know they were trapped and when they did an outside shot the town was covered with web.

  • @drb352 Me too... I wa s only a kid, maybe 10 or 11, saw it on as a saturday movie( we didn't have cable) & I still remember the ending being like WTF!!! It's funny cause this movie poped in my head this morning & brought me here now!!

  • Shatner dedication in great new Kindle bio (All About Jeffrey Hunter)at amazon! Book just $1.09!

  • Get the goddamn Enterprise down there. Problem solved :D

  • One of William Shatners finest!

  • Army of Deadly Predators LOOOL, wTF!

Those spiders are the most peaceful animals there are..

  • i love spider movies , but the old movie quality sucks i hope some1 makes a spider movie these days :D

  • Where was the Humane Society during the making of this god awful movie? Are tarantulas no less important than other animals? This is a disgrace!

  • @Catnip11147 exactly! i think this species is listed in CITES mexican red knee or something like it. I cannot believe anyone actually likes this film!!!

  • tarantulas dying for the sake of a shit movie! disgraceful!!

  • And beautiful HARMLESS tarantulas at that!

  • @Catnip11147 Tarantulas are NOT beautiful! Cats are beautiful but tarantulas aren't!

  • @jrsjr81 Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. To me, they are beautiful, just as a tiger is beautiful. The colors on them are striking. Whether you think they are beautiful or not, NO ONE has the right to squash them for the sake of making a movie. They are living creatures, and are an intrigal part of our ecosystem and must be respected.

  • @gingercatni This IS a great movie! Cheesy but great! And so what if a bunch of ugly grotesque tarantulas die for the sake of a movie! You're nutty!

  • @jrsjr81 clearly the value of life is lost on you. A creature that has existed pretty much unchanged for 370 million years deserves respect not to be crushed to death in some shoddy movie. Besides i'm pretty sure the species in this flick is listed in CITES

  • @gingercatni The value of life is NOT lost on me. Does the value of an ants life have the same as with a tarantula? Don't tarantulas eat their own? Tarantulas and other spiders don't contribute anything! What do they kill, roaches. BIG DEAL!

  • @jrsjr81 oh it is, and your comment shows remarkable ignorance for the ecological system. You clearly do not appreciate the life of a harmless creature that is needlessly killed on screen just to contribute a few seconds to this awful film. All life is sacred and to suggest otherwise and to ridicule the existance of something that has been around longer than us is just foolish, enough said on the matter.

  • @jrsjr81 They deal with pest populations of insects and help maintain a balance among those things. Next time you deal with a mosquito swarm, remember that spiders could have thinned their numbers.

  • @gingercatni i know it sucks manj but tbh this films not bad i liked i havernt wacthed it but i want to i hate they killed the spiders there were awesome

  • @gingercatni

Are you saying you know for sure that they killed real spiders for this movie ?

  • @nielsboex 'Another common notion about the film is that it could not be made today due to the increased attention paid by animal rights organizations to film production. Indeed, many tarantulas died during production.' A quote about the film

  • i'm pretty sure this movie is why i'm terrified of spiders. i saw it as a kid and i can remember making my mom put my hair up in a ponytail because it kept tickling my neck and i thought spiders were crawling on me. ugh...

  • omg i just saw thie movie

its so bad i mean bad that it just makes a u-turn and is just pure awesome

  • I remember seeing this on TV.. the scene with the crop-dusters scared the crap out of me.

  • Oh c'mon....that CAN'T be William Shatner? Can it?

  • @frantic1971 It is indeed. I first saw this in 1990 and had not known he was in this movie.

  • watched it the other day..it's pretty tight but i didn't like the fact that spiders actually really got killed in this movie..

  • Holy SHATNER!!

  • This is a great movie, wish it was on here.

  • hey bwild, they do have kingdom of the spiders, just type that in the search bar. :) I just watched it, lol. This was filmed in my town.

  • I feel sorry for the spiders making this movie

  • THE NEXT VICTIM... COULD BE, YOU!!!!!!

well im sold, this doesnt look to bad and its got shatner lol

  • I must buy this.

  • You must. It's actually quite good! I also recommend BUG (1975).

  • Special edition dvd out Today!!!! Jan 19th 2010 ...First time in widescreen!!!

  • @ClassicMTV4ever

I have not seen this movie since I was a kid. The cobweb covered city at the end freaked me out back then. I need to get the DVD!

  • Saw it on IFC the other night. I read that a 2010 Special Edition DVD release is planned

  • What makes the movie effective is that the spiders are REAL...not CGI, stop motion or puppets...

  • Cpt. Kirk will save the day! (He always does)

Spock SPOCK! Where IS that pointed eared Vulcan when you need him?

We come in peace, Shoot to KILL!

    Yoo... Klingon spiders...killed my son!

  • Shocking movie! I saw it, in 91, here in Brazil...a scene that made me (almost) weep was when that mother who tried to save the daughter; SO SAD!!!

    * And the people running, desperated; shocking II (lol)!

  • the only reason the spiders can't work together is because they lack the ability to release communication horomones

  • oooooooooooooh scary

  • This scared the daylights out of me when I first saw it all those years ago when it finally made it to TV. Now, though, I cannot help but wonder: Where's the danger at from a "menace" you can basically walk away from at a medium pace and escape?

  • This was such a frightening movie, and that ending is so nightmarish. I loved it!!! Thanks for this trailer!

  • This trailer is awesome! Thanks for posting.

  • Bill Shatner dedication in great new bio (All About Jeffrey Hunter) at amazon! Michelle Bernier is author!

  • GUH just too goddamned arachnophobic to even watch all of this trailed.

  • I mean like they are not huge like the giant spider invasion too muich scream, XD

  • Dude they dont even look dangerous they are little spiders and they think its like 1 meter spiders XD

  • Don't worry, only 23,458 spider were harmed during the making of this film.

  • it should have been more.

  • i would always watch this when i was a kid and still get spooked out even though its an old old movie--remember it came on Saturday Nightmares back then

  • l2 to get sledgehammers and poison. srsly how hard can it be

  • lol, i'd be like "cool! lots of large, hairy, harmless spiders. Get me a hose and i'll be fine."

  • wonder how many tarantulas they killed...

so poor, harmless, cute little tarantulas... sigh.

  • who kowns ,who kowns indeded.

  • Quick!! Everybody in your cars and sqish the spiders!!! Ha-ha!!

  • 1:04

    "NOBODY expects the Spanish Inquisition!!!"

  • this movie has such a depressing ending...

  • flamethrower would be usefull ....

  • its funny you see the one tarantula and its like attack

  • when the first spider shows up, that little medley/tune is the same one when Lloyd looks at his watch in dumb and dumber, LOL

  • Wow i dont really like spiders, but i feel sorry for them in this, the guy just ran them over without giving two shits :S

  • This film exists so that we can see how much Night of The Lepus sucked. This films sucks, too, and I would never have seen it except for Shatner, but as long as it exists, the position of Night of the Lepus as "worst film with name actors" is secure.

  • When i watched this movie i kept looking under the chair...

  • he says could be not will, still... cheesy!

  • "The next victim will be you!" how cheesy is THAT?

  • lol what the hell is this tarantulas arent even atackers and theyr posion dosent even does a close kill just kill the spiders

  • To the animal rights activists. These spiders were bread for the movie very few were killed most spiders you saw killed were dummies some on hot wheel racers. True some did die in this film but most were taken care of because of the cost to replace them. PS spiders are pests like ants, mice, rats and cockroaches. So, innless you live in a pest infested house and never buy pest control products. Complaining about Spiders dieing in a move makes you a hypocrite.

  • Peta. people eating tasty animals

  • Actually, spiders EAT pests...

  • Uuuggh... spiders. "shudder"

Hey, who else liked the way Shatner drove through town without even bothering to help anyone getting eaten by the tarantulas? He must've thought they were Enterprise security. ;)

  • Holy SHATNER!

  • burn in hell you eight legged freaks

    buurrrnnnn in hhellllllllllllgh

  • it should be illegal to kill all those spiders :(

  • thats my worst fear, spiders taking over the planet..and what about the harming of humans in this??? it cant be healthy having those nasty things crawling all over you....

  • Actaully its perfectly healthy for them to crawl all over you. Just as long as no more than 20 bite you at the same time.

  • ive seen holocaust and yes it was pretty gross but i have my own issues with spiders, its a cliche but my god do they scare me! i watched the beyond the other night and that scene goes on for ages its disturbing..thanks for the info though that in its self is reasuring just in case!!!

  • that doesn't sound very healthy

  • It is illegal now. Then they didnt really have "animal rights". Check out Cannabal holocaust, they catch and kill an alive turtle in its own habitat.

  • i hate this movie because of all the spiders they killed to make it >: (
