  • :o Didn't see this man

  • would that work for a cookatiel

  • Whould that work for an african gray

  • @louilover1 Probably

  • Where do you buy the close pins for $1?

  • Who do you like more kili or truman

  • so you make the toys and let your parrots destroy them??! :)

  • It's a shame your other video got removed. ('How to Tame Parrot to Touch and Handle').

  • does this toy work on budgies?

  • @SkyBudgy You can try but probably not. The wood is probably too big and too hard for them but who knows? If you have a really persistent little guy...

  • @SkyBudgy I put wooden pegs in my budgies' cages and they chewed it all right, they love it! and don't worry, budgies can chew wood, they've got strong little beaks, particularly females. This is because when they breed in the wild, they lay eggs in hollows of trees and sometimes the females chew parts of the tree to make it bigger or make a sort of bowl for the eggs to sit in. I know a lot about budgies :)

  • For a new parrot owner what would you reccomend a cape or Senegal parrot?

  • Wow how long have you had the Senegal Parrot Bird because i watch all you videos to get information for my bird and I always see the cute Senegal Parrot always doing cool tricks and fun things. How long did you have the Senegal Parrot?

  • wat if they get splinters on thier tongue?

  • my parrot owns the same cage

  • im gonna try this with my conure(: he likes to chew on stuff so this will keep him busy~

  • Awwwwwww thts so cute!!!!!

  • This was such a wonderful idea! Thanks

  • so cute, what kind of parrot is that?

  • @1234wallawalla The smaller one is a Senegal Parrot and the large one a Cape Parrot.

  • OMG SOOOO CUTE

  • this looks like a very cute fun toy for my parrot my birds will love these because they love to chew on wood

  • We buy natural pine 2 by 4 at the lumber store & if you have access to a saw, you can cut them into blocks or foot toys, drill holes or if you have no drill, you can buy fleece too, cut into strips & tie it around the blocks of wood & voila...big chews for all sizes of parrots...

Clothespins are toothpicks for my Macaws but great for my IRN..I buy wooden stir sticks too for foot toys.

    Great videos...Good job!!!

  • @sue345sue I didn't know 2x4s come in pine. Usually fir or spruce. Pine is generally too soft for use as a stud. Fir and spruce are similar and parrot safe but tougher to chew than pine.

  • @kiliparrot

Sorry...my mistake...You are correct....it is spruce in the 2X4s..The pine are wider boards...1" X 6" or so...hubby buys them so I do not know the exact dimensions..

The spruce ones last much longer with my bigger Macaws, & the Amazons & Greys love the softer pine.

  • @sue345sue Ok, thanks for clarifying. I was wondering if there was something you knew that I didn't know cause I would have loved to find a source of cheap pine 2x4 but never heard of such a thing. That would be a parrot's dream toy, lol.

  • how can you put this wire when i drill a whole in the clothes pins it brakes

  • my parakeets love that and my parrot

  • I bought some at the Dollar store and it is written "treated wood" on the package.

And it's made in China. Who knows what has been used to treat this wood. So they are not playing with my clothespins. But I was thinking they might enjoy coffe stir wood sticks. It's supposed to be clean since it is for food. I looked for clothespins at other locations but there is nothing written about the wood so I cannot trust it. Are you absolutely sure they are "natural wood"?

  • @patryric My breeder used to give clothespins to my parrot and told me that she has been doing that for her breeding birds for 20+ years without any problems. She said to buy the cheapest clothes pins cause they tend to be too skimpy to spend much treating them. The bird doesn't really ingest the wood. Just breaks it on the surface. Seems safe enough. Who knows that the commercially made parrot toys weren't treated with something (before built into toy) anyway? Can't trust them much more either.

  • Is a clothespin the big for a Cockatiel?

  • Do you think a parakeet would like chewing on clothespins too, because I have one.

  • @10animalman You can try but I highly doubt it. Those clothespins are quite dense and big for a budgie.

  • Do all birds have.. Chewing needs?

  • @Burton9oo Yes.

  • @Burton9oo Yeah they do. It helps trim down their beak. It also keeps them busy for when you aren't playing with them.

  • You should feed them real food! haha just kidding.

  • COOL idea... thanks for sharing

  • great idea!!!! loved it!

  • Excellent idea. But run to the store cause after this video they will run out of stock lolll

  • clever ;) i'm gonna try to make something like that u have made with the pearls ;)

  • Creative!

  • lol less than a penny... half penny lol

  • so thats what your giving them in the videos, and nice parrot forum in the background :)

  • @draco3113 lol I noticed that to.

  • If I ever get a bird, it'll be a nice thing to keep in mind.

  • My budgies did love them, and now my lovebird just destroys one after another :)
