Agree with that guy. We do not have a proper planning. For years we don't buy anything, but whenever there's a terrorist attack, we raise the bells and buy defense equipments worth billions. There's no consistency. For 25 years we bought nothing - not even a gun - for our forces and all of a sudden we have started spending haphazardly.
India needs a Joint Operational Command and Chief of Staff who can see to it that defense forces are regularly updated and in right proportion.
It is for "NEWS X" i think they dont want to see india the super power. Because they are more focusing on the high spending on defence. i think they know better that CHINA is preparing himself as a CHALLENGE for US and other nations and on the other hand we dont have proper structure for the acquisition due to dirty politics and RED TAPISM in our system. So instead of highlighting these issues we should welcome and promote these steps at leat we have a hope that our IAF will get best.
i am sure you are aware that most of the MIG Fighters we bought from Russia have all crash landed due to technical manufacturing problems and not due to the lack of expertise of our pilots. Why get invoved with the Russians again. Why. Why Why.?Thanks,
Why do we need so many 5th Gen fighters. PAKFA, MCA, F35...??? Whom are we planning to fight? Martians? If we keep squandering our resources in this manner, maoists will capture New Delhi, forget jungles of Jharkhand, Chhatisgarh, WB, Maharashtra etc. Logon ko khane ki paisa nahi hai aur yehan hamare mantri patake phod rahe hain. @hobgoblin1216 PAKFA do not even get clearance until 2016, and this is 2010... And furthermore, to complete the delivery of 250 planes will take 10 years until 2026. These are lot of years. In 6 years world would be too different.. Obviously, you do not have the concept of Multi level ambition. India's middle class has different ambition and are not satisfied with aam admi slogan... Security protects wealth...
@NYpinstripes25 We will also roll out AMCA by 2020. If we go for F35 we will be getting the deliveries after 2015. Three 5th Gen ACs at the sametime? This shows how unscrupulous elements are stealing the nations's wealth in the name of "security". Here it seems wealth is being stolen by "security".
