well learned but I have to say I enjoyed your version much more and you're much cooler to watch I found Mr Nunez's prancing around highly irritating and had to switch him off..
Hi, is there a chance to send me the score for guitare as is it played in the video (not the melody but the Harmony&Rhythm). If you have some midi files too it will be great. Thanks a lot. Agathe from Brittany
Hi, sorry but I don't have it. My brother made it all up, you can ask him. Do you know anything about this tune? What's An Dro? Is this traditional from Brittany?
Can you give me your brother's e-mail address, please ? An dro means " around " St Patrick because the title is " St Patrick's An dro ". I think this is traditional from Brittany. You can find videos of this tune searching " Carlos Nunez ".
Just another question : are you English ? Because I'm french and, iven if I speak a little bit english, it isn't very easy for me to write in English. I don't want to make too mistakes ^^'
An Andro is a traditional breton dance. A lot of people form a line just grapping theyr neighbours pinky finger. You "hook" in so to say. normaly you do 2 steps to your right and than one step where you swing your arms.
Check out my andro video if you like. I will try the calro nunez version later on toay and tomorrow
@TinWhistler Yes I know something, An dro is a typical dance in Brittany, you can look it up. It is also played much in Flanders (Belgium) when there is a boombal.
J'aimerais jouer ce morceau avec mon frère mais je n'ai pas trouvé la tablature de la guitare. Je voudrais vous demander de m'envoyer la partition ou la tablature de la partie guitare de ce morceau. Vous pouvez ?
PJ, what do you know about the origin of this tune? Carlos Nunez says it's from Britanny, but it's original (?) title is As covas do rei Cintolo, and the caves of King Cintolo are in Galicia. So I'm confused, cause it sounds like a Breton tune.
For what i know, this tune it's called St. Patrick's An Dro. An Dro it's a kind of traditional music and dance from Britanny. Check it by Brana Keterna, they made a very original version.
@mrjohnnydoe The diference is...this tune originaly is called "an dro" which is from Britanny, what CN plays is a little diferent its not actually this one, this is just An dro, CN plays one with the first part as "an dro" then he continues with a diferent tune...so sumarizing this song is not "caves of King cintolo" but simply "An dro"...If you want caves of king cintolo try searching it here on youtube when CN is playing live...hope it helps
hehe trying to learn to play this only makes me appreciate how subtle your playing works with the ornamentation and breath control. Thanks for the inspiration to try n play better!
Nice, really nice, is that another type of Irish Flute? Oh erm a advice to you from a fellow flutist is to control your breath more, other than that, this is amazing. Keep up the good work bud!
I'm reading the book called "Angela's Ashes" by Frank McCourt and it has an irish setting. By listening to your music, your setting the theme to it. I love your stuff man.
Just as amazing as ever, I'm still working to get rid of the breathiness of my flute. I think that song is on a cd I have with the Riverdancew and some ITM.
Love this tune, tried to find it in the Session Tunes site, but although they've got An Dro (The Wren), the notation is not what you are playing... where can I find the sheet music to this tune? Nice job as usual! Great to see more of your videos!
That's cool. I made my own first low D whistle out of plastic conduit. It's still my favourite. Keep your videos coming. You Guys have a load of tallent there.
This is an awesome tune! I recognize it from Eluveitie!
