what kind of speakers are those,, what should i get for my house to practice,, i want loud and bassy but nothing for a show,, just for house, but not sound shitty when bass hits
@cbosmooth Studio reference monitors are the best way to hear exactly what your mix sounds like without any alterations from equipment like amps or other gear. But it depends on what kind of investment you want to make into them - Alesis M1Active 520 USB Studio Monitors are a good choice for reasonable money - $199 at guitar center.
Checked your video because I'm considering buying the mixtrack pro and wanted to see it in action for a moment, but eventually ended up listening to the whole mix. You got some very nice tracks, and your mixing was flawless. Thumbs up
so how do you know how to time the drops for both songs? is it just because you know when oorrr??? sorry for the dumb question lol im thinking of buying one of these to get started out
@CautionCrisis I used to DJ vinyl years ago and just got a mixtrack pro to get back into it again - it looks like waveforms will have to be my visual cue now rather than looking at track breaks on the vinyl itself like I used to do.
catiun you have any advice on how to structure a mix i seen some system and i know some ppl count the bars i starting to do dat but i was wondering if you do something different
this is insanee! your tutorials are a great help to me :) have you got any advice on how to time songs to drop together? or how to know when to bring another song it? thats what im struggling with

Are you using Traktor or Virtual DJ ?
remusat0r 1 month ago
So fucking annoying that I dont have hot cues as I have the Traktor version, do you queue on the software before playing the mix?
LiquidPromotionz 2 months ago
@LiquidPromotionz i would assume he has to queue all his songs before he does his mixes.
coops1234 1 month ago
@LiquidPromotionz map the eq kills as hot cues bro, thats what i did to mine, then use the knobs to control the eq

Ok, a little tip: turn Keylock on, cuz I can definitely tell when you pitch bend. Other than that, good mix and I love your taste in music ;D
vikingrunnersv 4 months ago
@vikingrunnersv Yeah keylock distorts the audio and makes the beats sound out of time, I'd prefer a bit of pitch-bending rather than that.

@inferno135 I know the tracks quite well and also I can judge the length of certain sections of the track using the waveform onscreen.

@JDemian22 Yeah I pretty much do that, but I'd advise getting a feel for tracks before you mix them so that you end up counting bars unconsciously.
