I wish you guys would make a video that starts with the game, then you say, I'm moving this piece b/c I want to do this thing. I'm moving that piece b/c I want to capture this move. It might help folks like me to understand why you're doing the move and what you want to accomplish.
@dadush4 You are missing something, in this diagram after a2 Queen takes Queen, the rook must take it to avoid the loss of a queen and then the rook on the bottom rank takes the now undefended rook. White therefore loses a rook if a2 is played, the move shown is one pawn value better than king moving to a2
pff those values are just measures of what not to give up for what.. if ya ask me, giving ur opponent a queen is like handing him a gun and urself a rock.. its game over.. I'd rather give a rook and a queen for his queen then simply my queen.. I dont agree with those point systems :/.. but I understand how in his theory it all adds up, ur right in his theorem
@dadush4 The main point i was making is that white losses material and that a2 isnt a asaving move, also when you get to higher levels of play you learn to deal with and control the enemy's queen better as well as coordinate your own pieces better, the vast majority of grandmasters would prefer to have 3 pieces to a queen
@MyDecember2006 true, but i rly doubt 3 pieces are beter over a queen, ALWAYS.. I think it seriously depends on the player & strategy.. there's many variations so its hard to say from a non-playing point of view which one is beter :/.. I play the way i see is beter, not what I read or statistics show is beter :/.. (DUH, i know but alot of people tend to forget..)
@dadush4 Of course, I can find examples where any piece can be better to any piece. Generally I'm telling you what grandmasters have said. With such closed mindedness, I doubt your a strong player. Secondly I think everyone should try to play the best moves, since its the only way to get stronger. If the "best moves" differ from your play (unless you win every game you play) then why not try to incorporate them into your play.
@BruceGiron well you my fine sir are a retard because it is physically impossible for your brain to hurt. Unless you where speaking figuratively which I am not good with lol
@TheTechBite maybe youre the retard or youre a nerd or geek whatever. How can you not be good with jokes. You have resort to "unless you... Laaaaaaaaaaame...
draughts? so you live in Britain, as do I. Well ever since the Victorian era all children where given a free education. It was also made law to attend, as it is anywhere in the EU, UN, commonwhelth and first world. So you should understand how to play chess having just watched a video explaining it.
Thank you friendlyman i found this very helpful.

legonatter105 1 year ago
@mikesheona Queen is worth 8? also i belive the bishop is more strategically valuble than th knight i belive the bshop should be worth 4
eddieoxford 5 months ago
@mikesheona you think of points as to how valuable the pieces are but in reality there are no points in the game of chess
