@OnlineTonight Cry Engine 3 is a fucking JOKE!Crysis 2 graphics sucks compared to Crysis 1, in crysis one you could interact with the environment, AKA cut trees, and there wear a lot of them.True Cry engine beauty was in Crysis 1.So if your PC can run Crysis 1 than you can be shore that it will run any game till 2016.I got my PC with a GTX 460 1gb, 6 core 3ghz, 8 gig ram, 23 inch screen for under 1500$.Do yourself a favor and throw away the console and buy a good PC, trust me it’s worth it.

@FlyingRayzorBlade technology improves quickly and to "run" Crysis 1 doesn't take a whole lot, unless you mean on ultra settings. Even so by 2016 consoles will probably be on the next gen (meaning they wont be scaling down games as much to run on consoles) thus you will probably need a PC that is more powerful

@EnvySC2 A PC evolves every few months with a brand new Graphics card coming out.

So the console is in a minus from the start even if it is on the next gen the PC with being far over the next gen.

When you say I play crysis1 it means on full power not half power.

The console is just for people who like fast food and like to get things in a package without understanding what’s inside, the PC community always picks things by hand, thus creating the best for itself.

@FlyingRayzorBlade In short no, consoles will improve (although they have to wait 10years between improvements) and when they will most likely have a better graphics card than the 460 (at least they should if they want another 10year system) But in 5 years I doubt your PC will be fine without upgrades, even if consoles dont upgrade much.

@EnvySC2 If consoles improve so the PC and so will games with 3D technology on the horizon I think that we will have more powerful games by that time, so the console will still downgrade the games.

Trust me, my AMD Phenom 2 6x 3ghz, 8gb ram DDR3 kit 1333gold and my VGA PCI-X Palit GTX460 Sonic 1BG on my Mb Gigabyte 880GM in my PC will not die that easy, even if my GTX 460 is out of date by the year 2014 then all I need is 1 more video card and you are all done for the next 3 years.

Im not saying the console will not downgrade games Im saying games will be more powerful because of the increase in console tech and thus your 460 isnt going to last for the next 5 years (assuming decent video quality settings). Take Battlefield 3 for example if you are using a 6 year old video card (460 came out July, 2010) you will not be able to run battlefield 3 with good video quality settings and thats without any console upgrades.

First when BFBC2 comes out it won’t be 2016 and it will run it in full HD.

Second, I don’t think you understand how powerful that small video card is.

Third, you don’t know BC3 game properties either. Forth ,if a video card runs crysis in full Direct X10 /11 like my did than it is guarantied to run games for the next 6 years even in full HD.

@FlyingRayzorBlade Im not saying BF3 (Im assuming you had a typo and wrote BC2 instead of BF3) will come out in 2016, I am making the point that you said in 2016 your card will still be able to run on high settings at which time it will be 6 years old and if you try to use a 5 or 6 year old card to run BF3 on full settings you are going to find that it will not work.

To respond to your third point BC3 hasnt even been announced so I dont even know if they are making it

@EnvySC2 Yes they are making it, this video is proof.And no BF3 is not going to come out in 2016.It's nuts to think so, 2013 yea maybe but not 2016.Every game group like COD or BF comes out every 2 years or so, so BF2 got out in March 2010, so 2 years from now will come out BF3.My video card can easily over clock, and if it will need extra space it can take as much as it likes from my RAM and CPU, the average video card can hold up to 4 years.My card is not average.

In short BF2 =/= BFBC2 and BF3 =/= BFBC3

@EnvySC2 Fifth ,Games evolve but not in a fast pace, they grow much slower after Crysis so that PC can grow right beside them and not struggle with each game that comes out.

And with the economical problems in the world it’s not wise to sell a game that high in graphics so that people will need to spend a bunch of money for upgrades to by it.

Sixth, I haven’t seen much graphics growth in the last 5 years.

Games dont grow at a fast pace? Well dang, I thought that we came a long way in the ten years from the N64 the playstation to the Xbox360 and PS3 but you are clearly correct in thinking that there wasnt much improvement in those short ten years.

About every five years we advance 2 direct x levels, so by 2016 we will probably be on direct x 13 which I know your 460 cant do.

@EnvySC2 I said the last 5 years,example Dead Space2 not much better than Dead Space1,Crysis2 sucked to Crysis1.And there are many game developers out there that are taking small steps to go side by side with the Hardware market,and with people out of work world wide it will not sprint like it did in the past decade.DirectX11 is still in a 50/50 state,not many use it coz it has many crashes and software compatibility.Eeh13 is a bad number,I won't expect much from it,14 sounds better.

@EnvySC2 Seventh, the consoles just started having pure profit for the last 2 years and they will not release any new console for some time to come, it’s not wise for them to throw away the XboX and PS3 out coz just a few years ago they covered the amount of money they spent on developing them and started having pure profit and it will stay like that for the next 2/3 years for shore.

Even if they get a slight crumble all I will need to do I put another 460, sli them and it will run any game on full HD for some time to come.

Never buy a custom rig from something like Alien ware, better open a book read some hardware then read some more and build your own :)

@skedtm That is 248.1236 to 310.1545 pounds. Beta for the game comes out like Oct. 11th I believe so the game should be out November if the still want a fall release. My guess is that it will be 15th or 22nd of November, probably November 22nd though.
