I like this PC, but it´s to slow, even slower when used as tablet PC, in the winter is good as a heater, and sometimes gets mad.

@Mad69sur what model are you using I'm using a tx2-1370us model it runs pretty cool but gets really hot when you run it on high performance mode and have the cpu at 100%. But I don't care I just pull out a laptop cooler. Do people ever ask you "Is that the newipad?"

@Mad69sur No wonder your TX2 was slow your model had DDR2 RAM, AMD Turion X2 dual core 2.2ghz with 1mb L2 cache, Windows Vista SP1, 1,470 Video ram. My model has DDR3 RAM , AMD Turion X2 Ultra Dual Core 2.3 Ghz 2mb L2 Cache, Windows 7, and 1,982 Video RAM. I feel sorry for TX2-1000-1100 series owners they got the shitty models while people with 1200-1300 series models get better stuff.

Awosome tablets. Like the pressure sensitive Wacom Digitizer, Just bought a refurbished one with modified heatsink. Run much cooler and consume less battery. Price at 55% off original retail. I think they still has a few Tx2000, tx2500 and TX2. If you want one, let me know.

The difference is what specs they got and TX the first generation the TX2 is second generation and the Tx2z is just a customizable Tx2. The model numbers are just based on what country its made for and stuff.

Guys I just got mind and I upgrade the Vista Home Premium to Win7 Ultimate and found out that the system becomes very unstable and most of the drives which I have download from HP Driver support for Window 7 is not working properly and the webcam is not working, the touch screen go crazy and most of the driver don't work..... WoW !! Had so much driver issue with Window 7 and all this driver was download from HP Support Website......

To the first question, use windows journal. it comes already installed on the laptop. To the second question, are you sure the middle of the three buttons on the top right of the bottom half of the pc is white? Those three buttins control the volume. if the middle one is orange then the sound is disabled.

if you have Vista, then the Windows app will not work with multitourch, only the programs from HP, if you upgrade to Windows 7, then all Windows App will work.

Nope i have one and you have to have the battery in the TX2Z for it to work. Which is how most Laptops work. I've never had one where you could use just the Power Supply w/ out the battery present. It's a really handy little Notebook though. They've updated the Touchscreen alot so it's getting better all the time. It's really nice and mines upgraded. I just wish the screen could have been one step up to like a 13.3 instead of a 12.1 it would have made it alot nicer.

Yeah i have one and it's the upgraded version. It's very nice and since it has alot of upgrades on it the touchscreen is very responsive and very easy to use. I like it alot and was well worth what i spend on it.

I'm typing from it to you right now. It's really really nice. Mine is the ZM-86 AMD Processor and it has 6GB of Ram. It also has the Wireless N Bluetooth Card. The Hard Drive is a 320GB 7200 RPM and i really like it. There are a few minor flaws but it is by far the nicest touch screen around. Dell tried to do a similair touch screen to counter HP's but it's a piece of garbage compared to this one.

Supposedly, the newer TX2's have a anti-glare screen (matte) that limits glare but is no way near as good looking as the older glossy versions.

Search on various forums and you'll find out about this issue and how HP is secretly not telling consumers or retail stores about the change.

I have this notebook too. For the most part, I don't have any major issues (barring not enough apps out there using smart touch yet). However, as an artist I am disappointed that N-trig does not work with Photoshop or Painter brushes: N-trig does not recognize brush sensitivity on the apps. So for sketching with Sketchbook Pro, its just fine.

Why do ppl complain about the heat? You have a retangular electronic item on your lap or wherever racing with energy, of course it's going to get hot! Thanfully I have no nads so it's not burning off any sperm for me plus I use a laptop table or external fan. This will be my 2nd HP touchscreen as I broke my 1st one after many, many times of droping it off my very tall bed onto a wood floor! oops I'm one of the luckies I guess, never had a problem with any of my HPs unless I caused the problem!

all i have to say is get a MACBOOK. they have a multi-touch trackpad that works way better then this hp touch. you might as well use the mouse or the track pad. if you disagree please comment!

the reason its not as responsive is becuase your finger isn't the cursor... since it is still there.. you use your finger to move the cursor around, so it has to instantly / as pass as it can tanslate the touch into place of the cursor so you won't be using the mouse

I have this laptop. Sorry. but its wonderful. I would not trade it for anything. my arms do not hurt, there are no fingerprints all over the screen, & it is amazingly functional. I am able to edit pictures extremely easily and take notes easily. Intact I just wrote this entire message with the screen. Editing pictures is a snap. There is really no other laptop on the market that compares. Before you put it down, try, it out. It is one amazing product.

I played with the demo model at Best Buy too and I agree with this reviewer that the touchscreen is not the most responsive. If all you're doing is browsing photos, then it's not bad but if you plan on using the tablet more than the standard notebook mode, then there are probably better offerings elsewhere.

at 2.2Ghz... its really laggy. if your gonna do touch you need to make sure its smooth. My ipod is elegant with responsiveness and speed and its only ~500Mhz (i know, know, its not an ipod!) this laptop should be better.
