It's too bad that some people won't realize how good an opportunity this is for their local economy, it will really put them on the map! I think the main problems will be the site issues due to being so close and low to the coastline it appears to be mostly sandy land that is constantly reforming it's shape. And if sea level rises are true, then that may be a threat. Also, i am not sure if they have any cyclones, earthquakes or other severe weather types that threaten the design of the course?
@charlrogers1990 You're talking to me is if I'm a labour supporter, I'm right wing. Cameron is really just a liberal with a blue tie, he doesn't stand for what the conservatives traditionally stand for. Congratulations on your parents success btw. Hate to burst the bubble but that's not your achievement.
@charlrogers1990 Inside the EU there is no problem transporting goods, no tariffs etc. And similarly inside the EU you have the free movement of people, so no to those points. And are you seriously suggesting that Irish banks failed because Ireland was an independent nation? Every nation is an independent nation, get a grip. As for Scottish people don't have the brains, what a retarded Cambridgeshire village belief. The bad thing about democracy is that even idiots like you have the vote.
@charlrogers1990 You're missing the point, the tax receipts are collected in Scotland. Shell, BP etc. do not own the oil, they lease the right to drill and pay billions of pounds to the treasury for the right to do so and employ huge numbers of people in Scotland and the UK while they're at it. You have not provided a single fact other than a BBC-spoonfed belief that Scotland needs England to survive. Scotland independent would be better off, and I base that on quotable fact.
@charlrogers1990 1990, that makes you 20/21 right? Great spelling and global knowledge attempt, but no, the fact that American companies are pumping the oil is the most retarded criticism I have ever heard. You realise that all the tax revenue goes to the Treasury of the jurisdiction in which it was earned, regardless of what nationality the company is, right? Green power is stupid, but you're coming out with all this nonsense that you've been told down the pub and it's making you look a fool.
This issue has been hijacked by the radical far left; tiny, pathetically small groups of Socialist parties trying to beat Trump off with a stick. They don't care about the families being evicted, they just want to chastise a rich man and portray capitalism as evil for their own political means. Any other place on Earth would be fight FOR Trump's investment, yet a couple of green losers here are fighting against him. Most people have huge support for the golf course, I wish they'd fuck off.
@charlrogers1990 You're an idiot. I'm not saying that because I'm Scottish (I'm not Scottish), but you're simply wrong. Scotland is not poor, in fact for the last 10 years the Scottish economy has been in surplus while England has been in deficit. And it's owned by the UK, not England, and it's in Scottish territory so an independent Scotland would own the oil. You have this ignorant little Englander attitude which just suggests a lack of knowledge rather than anything malicious.
@charlrogers1990 Owned by the English? No, the oil is actually owned by the United Kingdom as a whole, however, it is understood the the oil is on the land technically within the boundaries of Scotland. And I wouldn't say Scotland is being kept going by being part of the UK, nor would it be poor if it was independent. Scotland contributed 10.4% of the UK revenues last year, yet only makes up 8.3% of the UK population. At the current moment Scotland looses money to the UK.
Tremendous jobs, are you f****** joking, is that the future for Scotland's youth working in a golf course full of rich tourists. Trump why don't ask for a tour of the poverty of Scotlands housing estates
Where did I say Scotland is a poor country!?!?!, please point that out. BTW I am Scottish and live in Scotland. You need to properly digest what you are reading before hitting off becuase this agruement is pointless and you are wasting my time.
I said 'housing estates' as in the poverty stricken housing estates and the general poverty in them and the bleak future Scotlands youth as we have lost most of if not all of our indusrty. Are you even fuccking old enough to knoe that we used to build ships in Scotland. Seriously get a fucking grip of your self you know fucking nothing. This country is f***ed, there is nothing left.
Seriously pal gat a f***ing grip and wise up, you are seriously wasting my time with your dumb ass arguments go back to your xbox and leave the intellectual debates to adults
what the f*** has that got to do with it, where you f***ing went doesn't mean jack s*** here pal, debate me or shut up. BTW the way, if you went to university, the university in question should be f***ing ashamed. You can't even hold an argument without resorting to ad ho-mien attacks. PATHETIC
I actually just re-read the comment string here and I stand by what I said, you can't even read a comment and digest it properly, 'university' you got to be kidding me. oh and btw again, Your a prejudice snob, can only people who have went to university debate here, you clearly can't debate or even read or understand words and yet its ok you because you went to university so you are allowed to debate and anybody who didn't is not allowed.
@therhythmicmenace oh shut the fuck up do you have an M.B.A no well guess what i do you're trying to call me an idiot but you cant even use correct grammer you write btw and all that shit
@therhythmicmenace If you think something like this will only bring in jobs at a golf course then you're very naive. The London eye doesn't just provide ferris wheel jobs, it brings in lots of tourism - rich tourists who spend their money and contribute massively to the local economy boosting it as a whole, as well as the large tax receipts generated by all than spending.

What a load of garbage you think this will save our economy or keep us going when the oil (if it does) run out. your living in a fantasy land.
therhythmicmenace 9 months ago
@therhythmicmenace Will it be as significant as oil? No. Is that a good reason for turning away an incredible investment? No.
