I use to rodeo and they never use to shock the broncs. Sad how the sport has changed and that is why I haven't been to a rodeo in years. The rider will also feel the jolt when they get shocked.

You can help by videoing your next rodeo and turning this kind of misbehavior into the local authorities for animal cruelty. Ask them who to contact to address stiffer fines and possible jail time for those acting out these activities.

Thanks for your videos making the public aware of the abuse. I did not know that they used what looked like the Taser C2 to make the horses leave the pen. I see they also do the same thing to the steers. Is any of these Rodeo activities safe on the horses and other animals?

@ProudToBeVeggie Because rodeo/livestock is specifically exempted from animal cruelty laws in the states where rodeos operate. They're archaic, inhumane laws most people don't even realize their states allow. Citizens need to learn what their state animal cruelty laws entail, then contact their legislators and demand all animals be protected. There should be no exemptions when it comes to animals' lives.

@SHARKonline Here in Australia we have a rodeo called Cockatoo rodeo. They do bucking and stuff and train them to buck. They don't do steer roping, calf roping or wild horse race! It's great! They do steer wrestling as well and they never force them. Once a horse didn't want to buck so they just got another one! I don't support normal rodeo.

Without this awareness, people wouldn't know and wouldn't have the information to take to their state representatives to demand all animals be protected by law.

I HS rodeo out in AZ and I pay attention 2 all events especially bull riddin and bronc riddin cuz of my bf and I aint never seen any1 shcok the animals. And regardless how 'tough' skin is, that has nothing to do with nerve receptors which are close to the surface in these animals. Ever take notice when a fly lands on a horse or cow and the animal twitches? It's pain these animals feel, or they woulnd't react as they do. Aside from that, animals in this video are being shocked on the face and neck, not just the rump.

rodeo does have a place and yes some rodeos do take it to far but most of them actually have rules in their rule books that if you are anyway cruel to the livestock at all you will be diqualified from the rodeo,fined, and/or not permitted to rodeo in that association again. i know cause im on the bard for several of them that my children are in. most do care for the animals. dont condem all for somes stupidity

They're archaic, inhumane laws most people don't even realize their states allow. Citizens need to learn what their state animal cruelty laws entail, then contact their legislators and demand all animals be protected. There should be no exemptions when it comes to animals' lives.

@SHARKonline Here in Australia we have a rodeo called Cockatoo rodeo. They do bucking and stuff and train them to buck. They don't do steer roping, calf roping or wild horse race! It's great! They do steer wrestling as well and they never force them. Once a horse didn't want to buck so they just got another one! I don't support normal rodeo.

I am sure that an animal that has very strong anti-predator instincts would not need to be reminded to get rid of something that is frightening or uncomfortable Nor would it need something like a galvanising electric shock to do so. Sure they have thick skin but most of the damage caused by a tazer happens under the skin.

Really, just saying, I would much rather see the reopening of horse slaughter. They need to change the ways they do it and not make it painful for the horses. There are WAAAY to many horses in the US right now, and not enough homes for them. People just turn out unwanted horses right on the highway. I would rather see a horse feed some starving people in africa, then lay to waste in suffering and pain in a feild, starving to death.

They are lobbying to reopen US slaughterhouses, and fighting any legislative bill that would make is a felony to transport horses into Canada and Mexico for slaughter. One of the biggest mouths cheering on horse slaughter is Cindy Schonholtz, the animal welfare director for the PRCA. Rodeo is pro horse slaughter.

Without this awareness, people wouldn't know and wouldn't have the information to take to their state representatives to demand all animals be protected by law.
American rodeo stock production is no different than puppy millers. They overbreed to supply the rodeo.

I HS rodeo out in AZ and I pay attention 2 all events especially bull riddin and bronc riddin cuz of my bf and I aint never seen any1 shcok the animals. And regardless how 'tough' skin is, that has nothing to do with nerve receptors which are close to the surface in these animals. Ever take notice when a fly lands on a horse or cow and the animal twitches? It's pain these animals feel, or they woulnd't react as they do. Aside from that, animals in this video are being shocked on the face and neck, not just the rump.

rodeo does have a place and yes some rodeos do take it to far but most of them actually have rules in their rule books that if you are anyway cruel to the livestock at all you will be diqualified from the rodeo,fined, and/or not permitted to rodeo in that association again. i know cause im on the bard for several of them that my children are in. most do care for the animals. dont condem all for somes stupidity

It seems like the rodeo is going the way of so many other, formerly accepted, ways of thinking in our country, like drunk driving, cruelty to animals, rape, wife abuse, beating children, etc, that just don't have a place in our society today. The world has changed. I used to think the rodeo was cool, and the guys had balls, I see them in a different light now. Clearly this is abuse of animals. It is pathetic. The men and women who participate in these events could open their minds a little bit.

Shark, ur the biggest pussy i have ever known. you probably still live in ur mommas basement and she feeds u dinner everyday cuz ur not man enough to do it urself. maybe if u wuld grow a pair and get out of the city, u wuld know wat the real world is actually like. i rodeo and dam it is fun. all the livestock is treated better than ur little purse dog at home that u bathe everday so it dont get dirty. (cuz ur gay). so do us all favor and leave RODEO alone. its been here alot longer thatn u have

What do you care, it's all about you. We'll stay on rodeo like white on rice, and we'll think of you while were exposing your cruelty, cowardice and corruption. Good job!
