  • You're supposed to be looking up to do sisyfos squats. It will make you emphasize the back more and utilize the training on your quads a lot better.

  • anyone here use this as their main quad builder, or is it more of an assistance exercise? for example, done after a bigger movement like back squats.

    anyone had good results with this exercise?

  • @alexjones234 i do 2-3 sets of back squats and then a superset of back squats+ partial low squat( with constant tension holding a disk)+sissy squat+leg extension+ partial leg extension and that´s all for my cuads that day.short.intense.efficient.

  • I've seen enough stupid comments about knees. In easy form for the noobs: The knee joint is a hinge joint, so saying that fully bending the knee will cause damage is like saying that fully opening a door will break it. There is no difference to the hinge wether you open it half or fully (in fact the knee joint is under more stress at half). Squats will NEVER cause a knee blowout, what will is an impact to the side or if balance is lost and the weight is shifted to the side of the knee

  • all the nubs claiming "knee destruction" have no real idea of what they are talking about. the angle of the knee joint is not much more than a regular full squat, it just looks exaggerated because of the reclining back and the angle of the ankles. if you have no prior knee injury and have decent strength in your quads this should be no more dangerous than a regular squat. i am speaking from 11 years of bb experience and alot of research on many trainers like gironda

    for everyone talking about blowing out knees:

    vince gironda did this exercise a lot and walked fine until he died before turning 80...if u don't know who he was then u should probably stop looking up bodybuilding exercises

  • I don't care what BS other people want to post here, this movement is unnatural and hard on the knee joints. There are numerous better and safer ways to work your legs than doing this stupid and unnecessary movement.

  • @CaneFu Really? I think Vince Gironda would disagree. This is one of the best leg excersizes of all time from the 40's and 50's. If you have seen his physique you would be doing it to. Try it out or is it to hard for you?

  • it is not a knee destruction..i found that if you extend your knees forward the stress is more on your quads..if you keep knees with finger tips in a vertical line the stress is more on glutes and hips..so the choice is yours..you wanna nice round ass or big quads..

  • There is no danger to your knees with proper form on this movement and he uses proper form. And yes, when i do these, it's as hard as it looks but like any exercise, you get stronger and used to the movement. I put the dumbbell on my chest the old school way and use one hand for balance. Good work Mos.

  • Damn decent effort, mosbrecka! Best I've seen on Tube, including an "instruction" from so-called "pros". LIke the fact that you didn't lock out at the top. Side view didn't show width between knees at botton of move. Add a little hip thrust and you've about got it. These are real muthas. What do you normally squat? Have these improved regular squats? Again, good move.
