  • la amo assolutamente

  • Let's not forget about the one and only RAY CHARLES!!

  • @NYmom1 Katy Perry is all our fault nonetheless ! LOL

  • @NYmom1 lol ...you guys are right ! LOL whoops I better check my facts lest I make an ass of myself again! HAHA

Gee ...that wouldn't be the first time !

  • Canadian artists have it all over their American counterparts.

Canada gives us Sarah McLachlan and Diana Krall.

Americans give us Katy Perry and Justin Bieber.

I guess a soulless society is going to produce soulless music eh ?

  • @mlmr11

jajajaja lol not quite true... not forget Ella Jane Fitzgerald and Jane Monheit... but it is true that a society without soul produce art without soul

  • @elmukon ok I'll give you Jame Monheit but Ella Fitzgerald is from another era :) haha

  • @mlmr11 hahaha another era? I'd say another dimension! Is the Lady of jazz. thanks for your comments. blessings.

  • @elmukon You are absolutely right ! She's to Jazz as Aretha is to R&B

  • @mlmr11 wait...I thought Bieber was Canadian.. No?

  • Only an idiot would pervert music by nationalizing it. Any musician stands on the shoulders of musicians of the past who came from all nationalities and races. Music brings us together it does not divide us. Because of that aspect it is human kinds highest and most pure product. If intelligent alien beings were to come to Earth and ask what is the best thing that we do, the answer has to be music. We would play it for them and they would understand what we mean

  • @SonOfMrGreengenes Only an idiot would call another an idiot for their interpretation of music . After all , it is human kinds best gift to offer aliens

  • @mlmr11 Canada gave us Celine Dion.

    US gave us Lady Gaga.

  • @EffieLG US gave us George Bush. Check Mate

  • @mlmr11 Canada gave us Lara Fabian and Michael Bublé.

  • @EffieLG Isn't Lara from the Netherlands or some place like that ??

  • @mlmr11 Well, she's born in Belgium, but she's been living in Canada from 1988 ca, and from 1995 she's officially Canadian. Well, she's also lived in Sicilia, so we can say she's a cosmopolite.

  • @EffieLG I didn't realize that. She's Canadian for all intents and purposes. It's similar to The Van Halen Brothers. They were born (I think) in Belgium as well but immigrated to American when they were young.

  • @mlmr11 It's also similar to Mel Gibson. He's born in the States but now he's Australian. Also Russell Crowe, who was born in New Zealand, now is Australian.

I don't remember how we came here.

  • @mlmr11 Have you all forgotten Norah Jones!

  • @rzombi666 Yeah but don't let the facts ruin my argument! LOL

  • @mlmr11 um Bieber is canadian, you can try to get rid of him but we wont claim him

  • @shonomad HAHA ...yes this has already been pointed out to me.

It's the culture that makes the star. Bieber may have been Canadian by birth but it's the American consumer that made him

We, Americans, are the most brainwashed and retarded ( yep I used the word "retarded" because it's a word in the English language that is best suited for this context) culture in the world.

I mean "we" actually believe that our healthcare is the "best" in the world .

That may be but for whom is it the best ??

  • @mlmr11 Justin Bieber is Canadian...

  • @Moonshield15 LOL!!

  • @mlmr11, There's lots of good USA artists, but the famous ones are mainly determined by teenagers, for from what I've seen most of artists like Justin Bieber's fans are young teenagers. Not a representation of all America.

I'm sick of all these comments that don't have to do with the music. On any video of a good artist, there's a comment bashing Bieber. And then proceeding to call Americans stupid like they're not one of them...

We're all aware of shitty music. No need to mention it 24/7.

  • @rachelo93 You tube is a place where millions of people make comments. So you're going to see a lot of the same stuff said as a lot of people share the same opinion.

I don't think anyone said anything about Americans being stupid . I am an American and I think my culture lacks a soul.

  • Comment removed

  • @mlmr11, i understand, but that doesn't make any of it less juvenile or less off topic. and you did say "Americans are the most brainwashed and retarded culture in the world" in your reply to shonomad. i simplified that into stupid. and yes, i do realize this doesn't have anything to do with diana krall, so i will now stop making comments i just classified as stupid.

  • @rachelo93 Yeah I'll stand by that as a general statement. What kind of a culture sits by and idly watches their jobs, security and resources be stolen from them without so much as a fight ? I'm one of them so I take responsibility as much as anyone should. My point is that we're the opposite of who we think we are. That's brainwashed if you ask me. Juvenile ? Well that's always the easy position to take when you disagree with someone

  • @mlmr11, I again understand your point, but i still stand by my opinion that mentioning justin beiber is juvenile, however juvenile you think I am for saying it, heh. and I'm still against these comments. So I'm really going to stop this time, sorry. I'm a hypocrite.

  • @rachelo93 You know what they say about opinions

  • @mlmr11

Had to laugh at the irony considering Bieber is Canadian, think before you speak!

  • @teewoods Had to laugh because Bieber was mas made a star in America. Critical thinking before verbal diarrhea.

  • @mlmr11 justin beiber is actually from toronto..

  • oh crp! i get wrong, i wanted to send the response to ianmcgeachy ... by the way, i think the same, this is jazz is not just a partiture is more than that is much more than feelings... oh i have to stay calm i'm begin to saying some crp...

  • 'Looks' regardless, this is damn good Jazz vocals and piano playing. Ive just come from another site where comments about off key on some singer are there. I also came across a site where someone said Sade (yes Sade!) sang 'off-key'. Its possible many people are so used to most commercial music that it is hard (moreso than ever) to appreciate anything with a non diatonic or pure blues/rock based tonality. Also, this song is meant to have a 'cold edge', listen to the lyrics. She did this very well.

  • ma che donna !!! mervegliosa !!!

  • this is kinda awesome "barmusic" or "loungemusic" i love it =)

  • Diana you are the best, I love you

  • Gawd ...I'd love to be her guitar player.

  • it<s alright, Meg, I'm in agreement with you. I'll like it enough for all of us...

  • Man, some of you guys are hard to please. This is a unique interpretation, and that is the point of performing jazz and all music, for that matter, including classical. And cold? Come on. To these ears her interpretation if one of despair. And not overwrought and campy such as Barbra's. And her pianism is on a par with Previn, Garner, Peterson. Why do you think everyone in jazz wants to work with her? It ain't just her pretty face. She was handpicked by Ray Brown, for crying out loud.

  • yes, there's nothing better than use some functional harmony for some simple song like this, you are right, it taste so good. but what i dont understand is what the ... is doing this at MTV a stupid site of comercial music that s...k...s!!

  • @meg14142 Well said!!

  • mmmm... a little cold...mmm

  • I love her voice and interpretation. She is magical!

  • It's nice, but merely sad and sweet. Dinah Washington does it sorrowful and snide, is ambivalent, equivocal, much more real, hardcore.

  • Me thinks the beauty of the woman is doing more for y'all than the song. I don't care for the song or the performer or this performance.

  • mtv????????!?!

  • That's almost sweet, I think, I'd take it as a compliment on a bad day :)

  • What a smokin' lady and song. Her voice is the definition of sultry.

  • the guitarist? he is not anthony wilson? Who is he?

  • FANTASTIC!

  • Your comment lacks intelligence, vision, correct spelling, and grammar. You're a run-of-the-mill critic. That is not meant as a compliment, trust me.

  • true to the arts honey bunny. what a gift it is to be allowed to sing and play the piano like u do. depth and the beauty of slow. start composing darling if u´re real... all love - der Hase 7777777777777
