@OcarinaOfDarkness Hi there ummmm could you please tell me why you didn't like lord of shadows? the game is awesome, the story line is very good, the graphics was amazing, the fighting style is nice and the monsters looking were superior.
I'm glad to see an actual positive review on this game. While definitely far from outstanding, the PS2 Castlevanias are enjoyable in their own rights. Atlhough I do have to admit, I am biased pretty heavily towards Castlevania games, it's one of the series I grew up on. I remember making my dad beat the hard parts in Super Castlevania 4.
I let myself be bothered by the geometrically similar rooms the first time I played the game, but not as much during my own review. As for the music, I definitely like how Yamane added more instruments, like in Legendary Belmont, to give it a familiar CV rock feel.
Btw, I'm not sure the Tragic Prince can be considered a classic CV piece, seeing as it is only in Symphony of the Night. No official remixes yet, but I too would like to see them. Hell, Alucard should've been in this game!
@osurpless Tragic Prince may not be a classic but it's one of my favorite pieces and I think would have been appropriate for this game. I would also like to see Alucard in 3D. Supposedly Konami was making one but I guess it was dropped when they decided to reboot the franchise.
@jfreedan The Alucard game was Konami of Japan's pitch for a Castlevania game. Konami eventually went with Konami of Europe's pitch, which was Lords of Shadow.
The More You Know: Lords was initially supposed to be a retelling of the era of Simon Belmont.
@ShakinJamacian There is no Konami of Japan or Konami of Europe. Also Lords of Shadows was outsourced to a spanish studio called MercurySteam with assistance from Kojima Productions, a subsidiary of Konami Corporation. Pitches also aren't shown to the public in teaser trailers at game shows; the game had to be in development but was probably canned after the re-boot design with Lords of Shadows.
@ShakinJamacian Also when I say "no Konami of Europe" I mean Konami re-structured their company in the early 00s so that everything not based out of one of their Japanese studios is just a holding company and has zero involvement with game development.
As a 3D iteration of the series, this is much better than the latest instaillment - Lord of Shadows. The Spanish developer intentionally borrowed elements from GOW, which is a big turn-off to me.
I think Konami should reappointed the original producer Ige from Konami Tokyo to work on the series (with the help of Hideo Kojima)
In the intro, what is the game at 0:38, it looks pretty good

Remixes are lazy, Curse of Darkness has one of the best Castlevania soundtracks but the game itself sucks.

Is this really an RPG? If so, why, and why isn't Lament of Innocence.

@MegaShadowrunner Castlevania: CoD is an Action RPG. It has a leveling system. LoD does not.

Hector looks like a cross between Kain from Soul Reaver and Alucard

This guy is smarter and more honest about reviews. Should deserve more views, especially his stance on RPG genre naming!
