Guys, this is not a video made by or for novices, it looks like part of a pre med dvd. It s pricless precisely because he uses all those words that people that study this know. Distal means away from the center or the body, extremities in short, proximal is the opposite. The distal phalanges are the ones at the end of your fingers, the proximal are the ones closest to your palms. The fibula is the shin. Anterior means inside, roughly.
I stepped on a tennis ball while playin and it hurt extremely bad but after a day it still hurts a little to turn my fight and walk but its still managable and it doesn't really look like it swelled at all... should I still try to treat it or leave it to heal on its own?
RICE, Rest. ice, compress, and elevate the ankle, and see a doctor, since its been weeks, I could be wrong but might probably a tear of a ligament, on the medial or lateral if you foot inward or outward
If you attach the tape to itself, there is no room for expansion and swelling could get trapped above or below the taping. If you leave a little gap, the soft tissues can expand and the tape won't constrict
@raisinbread174 I will deduce you know something about this, does this video mean if the pain is on the outside of the legg or foot, I need to wrap my ankle correctly, been in pain for at least 3 months, n e help appreciated
nice job, however I must say, when would you ever have two people to apply tape in this manner...hmmmm never is the answer. Good narration though. Sorry about being pedantic

Does any one know why you shouldn't overlap the tape anteriorly? All they say is that its crucial for effusion situations but I can't figure out why.
Thanks!

Too many big words try to keep it simple and understandable next time. Thanks for your time into making this though
iceeplaya 2 years ago
If you don't know what these words mean you should probably not be taping. You should defer to a professional.

does anyone know where I can find something that tells me how to do injury evaluations?
I could go to the library, but if anyone has a channel or something let me know.
