Oh, I thought you were asking me to provide verses from the Quran I was bringing up, like points of rising. You mean you DON'T want me to provide them?
Until when he reached THE PLACE WHERE THE SUN SET, he found IT GOING DOWN INTO a black sea, and found by it a people. We said: O Zulqarnain! either give them a chastisement or do them a benefit Until when he reached the land of the rising of the sun, he found IT RISING on a people to whom We had given no shelter from It; Surah 18:86, 90 Shakir
Until, when he reached THE SETTING OF THE SUN, he found IT SET IN a spring of murky water: Near it he found a People: We said: "O Zul-qarnain! (thou hast authority,) either to punish them, or to treat them with kindness" Until, when he came to the rising of the sun, he found IT RISING on a people for whom We had provided no covering protection against the sun. Yusuf Ali
a little over the top with his analogies, but the first point is the most important. the arabic word used is "appeared to him"... again it is a problem with the translation.
i recommend that you read Mohammad Asad's translation. I've found it to be the most reliable.
Again, in al-Tabari (839-923 AD) we find this narration:
Then he said: For the sun and the moon, He created easts and wests (positions to rise and set) on the two sides of the earth and the two rims of heaven, 180 springs in the west of black clay - this is (meant by) God's word: "He found it setting in a muddy spring," meaning by "muddy (hami'ah)" black clay - and 180 springs in the east likewise of black clay, bubbling and boiling like a pot when it boild furiously.
He continued. Every day and night, the sun has a new place where it rises and a new place where it sets. The interval between them from beginning to end is longest for the day in summer and shortest in winter. This is (meant by) God's word: "The Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests,"
I am going to ignore the hadith. 18:86 has been answered. As for 55:17 and many other like this, what exactly is the problem with it? what this is saying to me is that he is the Lord of everything.
Well, I'm not talking about contradictions between the Quran and the Hadith. I'm talking about sayings. How many of the sayings do you believe are true in the Hadith, percentage wise?
whichever ones you like :)

Oh, ok. So, do you want Quranic scriptures for points of rising?
ItsAmadWorld2 2 years ago

Oh, ok: Well, this is from the Quran:

Of course, this is Tabari, and, not Quran.

"(He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests:" [Al-Quran 55:17]

Do you believe in the Hadith?
ItsAmadWorld2 2 years ago
are we back to square one?

ItsAmadWorld2 2 years ago
never did the calculations
pakirockstarz 2 years ago
But they are numerous in the Hadith, true?
ItsAmadWorld2 2 years ago
