  • Okay, if this worked, great, but isn't there another type of therapy that won't be like torture for the cat? Just because its breed is supposedly a natural swimmer doesn't mean it enjoys the water, or at least that this one enjoys the water. Clearly it doesn't. It's obviously in distress & I find it painful to watch. Do the benefits outweigh the incredible stress the cat is being put through? Even if it's worth it in the end, I don't think this video does your business any favours.

  • @melizmatea obviously she is in distress. she is paralyzed and in pain from her injuries. and its natural that she is scared

  • @melizmatea Any type of therapy is distressing. Any human who has been through therapy can tell you that.

  • People who deal with physio complain just like that cat. Because it's hard, and it does take effort. But when the effort pays off - it's worth it. I'm glad your boy is doing better now!

  • i like the colors of that cat -brown and white

  • ijosdeputa no ven ke el gato sufre

  • We have Vans, but we don't Make them swim...Shame...

  • watch animal planet on cat 101 this is a swimming cat and love water, and cat which quite like a dog

  • That's great that she overcame the paralysis. I know some people may not have read the info and were hating on the video because it is a bit painful to hear her meows...but in the end, it's only to help her, and saved her :)

  • People are so ignorant sometimes... hope you attack like that the real abusers... would you be aager to pay therapies like that for your pet if you were an abuser? come on people...healing processes are not enjoyable for neither animals or humans. Now the cat is totally healed, guess the water times were worth it!

  • I bet she was using those limbs in that water gr8 idea!

  • most of the time, I would agree with the people saying this is mean. alot of the supposed "cat loves to swim" videos are like that. but this this one, they clearly are helping her heal. did you guys not read the description? her distressed meows are more likely to be just about the fact that he is using her legs which hurt, than anything specifically about the water.

  • Please have a look at my Turkkish Van Video. Although not ALL vans are equaly fond of water, most of them enjoy it.

Not All Vans are swimmers neither and about 50% of mine would do it willingly,.

The rest will play in shallow water and or show quite affection and facination with it.

  • @margotbigg obviously she's distressed she has a fucking paralyzed leg you dumbass. this is why they're giving her therapy to make her feel better. some people are so retarded

  • which swimming styles if done regularly will make you grow taller?

  • Those cries were distress cries. Might be it is not really a turkish van, just a house cat with those markings. Kitty didnt like it, thats for sure

  • i have a turkish van, but she hates water in any form and runs in when it starts to rain

  • I work at an emergency vet clinic, and adopted a cat who had come in paralyzed on his left side, I massage his muscles, flip him every 3-6 hours(unless I'm sleeping) and I also have him trying to swim in the bath tub, and waking on his hind legs across a yoga mat. Please give me as much advice as possible to try and get him walking again, and in a state of self sufficiency.

  • @JeremyNeale Good luck! Is it going well?

  • I talked to owner few days ago and would like to put everybody’s mind at ease that Nazzanin has recovered 98% of her motoric / mobility and is almost as jolly and playful as ever. The alternative was to put her down which was unthinkable.

  • @georgezana Poor kitty, nice to know she is fine now.Who is the guy in the water with her,her owner?

  • @3piper No, he is a physical trainer and therapist.

  • How is this animal abuse? How? This hydroTHERAPY, not animal abuse!

  • I don't think the cat realy minds the water, just like mine it seems to rather like it. But I must say she (or he) deserves a cheezburger now!

  • My dog swims regularly at this pool.

FYI, John (guy in the black cap) is a FANTASTIC, well-trained physical therapist, vet tech, and a huge animal lover. He helped swim our dog back to health after she suffered a bad sprain--and she lost weight, too.

I recommend this place highly if you are in the NYC/NJ/CT area.

  • he has a cute meow!! 0:32

  • Good for you, Nazzanin!

  • itteh bitteh healin commiteh sayz ur doin it rite!

  • can it haz cheeseburger?

  • @YODAWSOME lolz

  • CUTE CUTE CUTE CUTE CUTE (1000X)

  • thats 1 swimming cat

  • I know I'm gonna sound really stupid, but I hate the meows the cat's giving. She sounds just as sad as my own cat when she's getting her weekly bath.

  • @namasayaDiana Lmfao, you give your cat WEEKLY baths and your complaining about this?! >.>

  • @eriksk883 That's why I added the disclaimer of 'I know I'm gonna sound really stupid'. But I'm not complaining, I just don't like the sound. If only my cat and this cat would just shut up when they're in water, I'd feel... I don't know, less guilty or something. Heh.

  • It's called hydro therapy, she's obviously not swimming, she's trying to recover

  • I think I just pooped a little laughing. Holy *^&^ I love the internet

  • what a cute meow

  • The cat has partial paralysis.

  • She aint swimmin, she's floating lol

    poor thing

  • Despite the fact that Turkish Van's are natural swimmers, that cat doesn't seem to be enjoying it.

  • @Cokecanninja Would you rather have the cat undergo a few days of annoyance or a few years with partial paralysis?

  • @xAthrun A few days of annoyance.

  • i love the sound of meows

  • That cat swims better than me :(

  • thank god for lolcats(:

  • my cat would claw the crap out of me if i did that to him.

  • @wererat2000 word up

  • I always thought that a Turkish Van would be a cool cat to have. This was also a very good idea to use this type of therapy as this cat probably feels more comfortable trying to move in the water after her injury since she's a swimming breed of cat.

  • Poor thing is like "IM PADDLING BUT I AIN'T MOVIN CAPTAIN!"

  • So glad that the therapy is working for Nazzanin. Keep up the good work.

  • people who call this animal abuse, don't know what that really is.

  • @TotgeliebtInBill They also don't know how to read, either.

  • @TotgeliebtInBill so true

  • @TotgeliebtInBill You are correct: this is guided, supervised water therapy.

The cat is a Turkish van, one of four breeds that are OK with water.

  • Poor Kitty... I understand the therapy is to help her get better, but I still feel bad for her!

  • Aaw, that makes me a bit sentimental.. Poor kitty, but Im glad to hear that the therapy is working :)

  • I`m sorry but there`s no way I`d let someone do that with my cat. Poor thing looks terrified :(

  • Apparently.. there's a fine line between "help" and "torture".

  • i think kitty would do better if that dork weren't holding her back

  • @Turbo617 You know that they arent doing this for fun, that its therapy so that the cat can be able to walk again?

  • @Turbo617 No, it's not, at all. Look up the bloody definition of animal abuse. Hydrotherapy is a wonderful form of rehabilitation, used for humans and animals alike.

  • @Turbo617 Get your facts straight before you make ignorant comments. This cat is a Turkish Van. That particular breed of cat is a natural swimmer and actually enjoys being in the water significantly more than other breeds. Secondly, they're not just randomly putting it in the water for the hell of it. This cat had been suffering from paralysis in her leg and were giving it hydrotherapy in order to teach her how to walk again, going through the motions in a safer environment than on dry land.

  • @bandgeek8986 Bull shit, van or no van is no important: the cat don't want stay on water and the bastard use the hands to take it on the water ,see it with attenction,it's only a ugly show for dorks...

  • @bandgeek8986 totaly right! exept the fact that this is a Kurd and Armenian cat !! then turk barbarians invaded us... but it's another story..

  • Awwww, not a very happy kitty :( Hope the hydrotherapy is working for her.

  • @Ilovetobeyoung Actually it has, I'm happy to say. After nine sessions of the therapy, Nazzaning is almost back to normal and is now walking and running by herself around the hoyse.

  • @FareezLovesMe That's really excellent to hear :)

  • Cats are funny when they swim...

  • Hope she's doing better.

I just chuckle at her cries because my Angora makes the same sound when I give her a bath. It's funny how melodramatic they get over a little water...

  • @PraiseDivineMercy

u give ur cats baths... wow

  • @yournameheresch It speeds along shedding.

  • @yingerx it's supposed to help her. in fact it's much better than if she was on land. most likely they won't need to do it much more. most cats just don't like water, and well... tough. a lot of kids don't like water but it's for their own good to get clean, this is so she can get healthy.

  • @yingerx Also that breed is know for their ability to swim and fondness of water

  • @yingerx yes she does not like it but she will never walk again if they dont do it

  • If you listen closely and use a bit of imagination, it sounds like instead of saying "meow" she says "Out!"

  • WANT OUT.

  • Does anyone know how's Nazzanin doing now?

  • I know is for the the cat's health, but the desperate meows are very sad.

  • @fellipec if it were in any danger, do you think those people would just leave it? the man in the water is making sure it's ok.

  • "Don't you know that my paw is paralyzed and I can't even walk! How do you expect me to swim!? Are you trying to kill me!?"

  • @Pumacat101

They are actually helping it with Hydrotherapy.

  • d'awww

  • You know the cat wants the cheezburger!

  • @tehlawlcat Ooooooh : D You know bout the Cheezburger ! ? I visit the kitteh and their website everyday : )

  • poor kitteh

  • I'm amazed that she can do that by herself, but I felt bad at the end when she started to meow like she needed help.

But that's still really cool :D

  • Kitteh no likes hydrothreapy... pleeze removes from waher...

That said, it's just amazing to hear about a cat undergoing hydrotherapy and doing better. I hope Nazzanin is doing better now.

  • @Pumacat101 Here is part of a small article about her:

"She was suffering from partial paralysis in her paw and couldn’t walk anymore. A neurologist at the hospital suggested hydrotherapy to help Nazzaning walk again. He explained, “Her muscles needed to learn how to move the correct way again, and because she’s partially buoyant in water, if she makes a mistake it’s much less severe than if she’s walking on dry land.”

  • Oh my goodness! You go kitty!! You go girl!!!!

I've always wanted a Turkish Van

  • tts a Turkish Van. It should be able to swim
