Hey roclikewhat I got my Ps2 network adapter... I attempted to install a 80gb harddrive but When i go to the browser the drive does not show the IDE hardrive is set to master but cannot be read by the ps2. I tried 5 hard drives but when i go to browser it does not show. I tested the network adapter and it does connect to the internet. Am i doing anything wrong?

all drives will work as long as they are IDE and not sata.

@zoomer2444 False - It HAS to be a 3.5 HDD (desktop hard drive). 2.5 HDD are laptop HDD's and no way will it fit naturally. And yes it has to have the IDE (or EIDE) interface. Maxtor and Seagate works best. Avoid Western Digital and later model Fujitsu & Samsung HDD as the connectors on both Network Adaptor & HDD does not align.

@Sofa12: Mac uses a file system the PS2 cannot read. You will need to reformat it in FAT32. Then the PS2 will see it.

he man, i watch alot of ur videos, and im a fan so i hope ul help me, my problem is that when i start up hd loader, it says that there is not hard drive/hard disk. i think it might be the hard drive im using. see, i had a western digital but it wouldn't hook up to my ps2 network adapter. so, i dont remember when it was, but my cousin gave my brother his old mac, and so i took the hard drive out of that, used it in my ps2, and my ps2 doesn't know its there. CAN YOU HELP!!!

because you can download games from the internet and transfer them into the hard drive using 1, a flash drive, or 2, a ps2 web browser that I wrote and i would make a vid on how to get it but then you would need a linux, and like mine your ps2 would catch fire..... And you can also borrow your "stingy "friend's game and copy it to the hard drive, or you can rent games and copy them to the hard drive or.... you get the point right? oh yeah, or you can just buy a ps3, that already has a hard drive

40GB to 120GB maximum on capacity. You are going to need an IDE Hard Drive. Make sure its either a SONY or a Maxtor hard drive. Do not bother getting a hard drive that is over 120GBs, because if you do then you just wasted your money. Because as long as the HD is over 120GB, the HD Loader will ONLY read 120GBs.

Well what i did was simply buy Computer fans and coolings devices for my PS3 and 360. practically working it like a computer. Probably the best way to go. What i also suggest if you go the extra mile, Un-screw the cover for your slim, and buy a cheap(or good) computer tower to house the ps2 in, then fill it up with your favorite liquid or fan cooling system. It works wonders.

Its a totally different story with the 360 and PS3. At first, even with a regular fan, it would actually increase the temperature of my room by like 10 degrees or more. I had to go outa my way and buy computer cooling components and actually mod them as if i was modding a computer just for it to cool down. If you have the time and the money, i would suggest you do the same to your PS2 slim. It doesnt have to be fancy.

if you at least want it nice looking, you can remove the covers of the ps2, and put your unit in a computer cover on its side and just customize it from there. Its actaully pretty fun once you go that extra mile. My ps3 hardly looks like a ps3, but it looks nicer now. Hell, i'm calling it my PS4.

The problem with Phat over small as far as sony goes, The small ones always seem to have a faster processessor but over-heat faster because theres less room for cooling and such. I say, if you make it better, instead of trying to make it smaller, either keep it the same size even make it bigger so you can add other stuff. I ended up buying that PSP skeleton for my slim,it ends up being the same size as the phat but it at least lets me install the Phat battery on the slim version for longer life

My point was, is that it seems weird for the newer model thats supposed to fix all the stuff that was wrong with the older model and be better. Take the slim PSP over Phat PSP. The slim has a faster processer and is light weight and what not. But it actually has a shorter battery life. to copy the games to the hard drive, so you don't need to run them on dvd, and it runs faster. You can copy games directly from your pc to the hd too. having a hd in a ps2 is almost necessary.
