  • that storm happened ın my exchange year ın usa and I lıved ın carrollton . my house was rıght on mars laneand belt lıne. we had a huge tree untıl thıs storm came up. after the strom we had to cut ıt off. ıt was really scary cuz I havent seen such a powerfull storm actually torenado before ın my lıfe.

  • hi drright71, do you know if that day we had just a very strong wind or that actually was a tornado? i live close to old denton and hebron, and a huge power line pole came down. i never knew what really happened there!

  • Officially it was straight line wind damage. But the damage path flows into what was officially declared a weak tornado in Plano/Allen.

  • yah it was really strong winds... lightning hit on my street that night... scary stuff only thing is.. i slept through it all

  • i woke up at 3am i it was freaky but kinda kool

  • Me too. And all of a sudden the lights went out... it was all quiet...kinda eerie... and then the sirens started.

  • Well according to the NWS, what hit here was just straight line winds. BUT, from the damage path it did develop into a small tornado when it moved on into Plano and Allen.

  • It was really bad right around Newman Smith

  • That was scary, It was right by my house, what sucked is that I had to still go to school the next day!

  • I wake up from the loudness of the rain And I looked out my window and went HOLY CRAP. And I looked at my alarm clock it said 3:45 and power goes out that very second

  • OMG ME and all of my friends woke up at around the same time. It was so strange! Usually I sleep through rain and thunder, but not that time...

  • yea that storm was freaky!

  • It certainly made me more mindful of this season's storms. My weather radio is always on alert now... I'm not getting caught off guard again.

  • I remember that storm. That was awesome yet scary. It was like....3:45am when I woke up. About 5 seconds after I woke up the power went out. Then I heard my phone ring. It was my dad. Calling at 3:50am. He told me there was a Tornado coming towards me. So I went in my moms bedroom she was already awake though. Me, my mom, and brother looked out the it was raining so hard we couldn't see the house across th street. And get this....somebody was walking their dog in this. No joke! That storm wasfun

  • Walking their DOG?! OMG HAHAHA!

    I like cats... LOL!

  • It's 3:30AM and I'm awakened by a distant rumble of thunder. I rolled out of bed and went to the bathroom. Stepped out of the bathroom and decided to turn on the computer to check the radar. I made it about two steps when the sirens started their crescendo wail. Huddled in the bathroom we listened to the blow torch like sounds of the wind and the debris pounding the apartment. NWS is still investigating the damaged areas, some of which have been classified as EF1 Tornadoes. We may be next.

  • Holy Crap Tornado? I thought it was gusty winds?!

Goodness, at that time I lived in an upstairs apartment/condo...if I a Tornado hit mine I would've probably been dead since we have no shelter and what-nots.

  • Yeah, I'd pretty much be freaked out.
