Till i know this mission was a disaster, dont want to bother nobody, but that's what i readed, much of the refinerys was working full capacity one month after the atack, navigation mistakes also took the lifes of many civilitians and POW's, anyway, Honor to all the soldiers and pilots who fought in this battle.

my dad flew the ploesti mission of aug1 43 with the 389th bg,his aircraft was the little gramper 42-40722.he returned to england and finished his tour and survived the war

Whats the point of making a movie from IL-2 if we can't use music?

The music choices on YouTube don't suit anything.

If you purchase SoundTracks from a store, and use them in

some short films with you not making a profit from it, you should be able to use any SoundTrack right?

Someone explain this to me because I'm seeing a limit on creative ablilites with this copyright overboard.

I know it's easy to say now, but couldn't they've adapted P39s/Mozzies for these jobs, say 1,000lb per plane and far less vulnerable ???

Very well made! My Grandfather was stationed in this bomb group, the 376th. At the time of this mission though, he wasn't flying yet. He didn't fly till the group moved to Italy. He always told me he rememberd the bombers returning to base with tree branches stuck in their cowlings. That's how low they flew. One thing about the video though, they used B-24D's not B-24J models....but I know you can't choose your B-24 models on IL-2....excellent though man.

Well yes, I was about to say the same thing. I wondered why the noses of the B-24s were different! In my books all of the Ploesti raid aircraft were B-24Ds. Even though, this video deserves ***** 5 stars!

it was on fire probably because it was already bombed(and it failed)

The main idea was to give a greater impression of damage done - I was already pushing my computer with the waves of aircraft I had in the mission, so I added some "prelit" fire to get the damaged effect without adding further aircraft.

my grandpa was a b-24 pilot who flew in the raids of ploesti, but it was later in the war, he was shot down at that time.

The B-24s flown against Ploesti on 8/1/43 were the "D" model and had no nose turret.

Yes there are B-24's in IL2. They are AI, but you can control them (external view only)... there's a vid on here that shows how.
