  • hoo Winston Rodney please dont switch the light before stap on my country. jah bless u.

  • i really like MISHKA seems like a nice guy and one hell of a recording artist.....i also noticed there is a lot of turnover in his band he either fires alot of people or they quit.....i should ask shayar about it as he lives near me....but he's not one for talking either! lol win rodney had a really good jazz guitarist (wayne arnold?) for the calling rastafari tour and before that he had a long time guitarist LENFORD RICHARDS who was really really good and a very nice down to earth guy !!!

  • @1notasheeple . . . No, it wasn't Wayne Armond. It was Eugene Gray. BTW, as in this SA video, the only 2 guitarists he had on the Calling Rastafari tour were Cecil Ordonez and myself.

  • @ckaski ahh memory is a little foggy anyway but lenford richards is playing with the jolly boys which is old school shit!! but you sound good my friend!! will u be down in va?

  • @1notasheeple Well, as you can see, I'm trying to do my own thing with my own CD (just released in September). Perhaps you may know of some venues down there interested in presenting some Jam Band style Reggae. Please let me know if you do.

  • @ckaski also his blog about his son dying is very sad!

  • @ckaski but it was then followed by some money issues and law suit against some record co and a lawyer which kind of tainted it, also he had more sons and grandchildren so that wasn;t his only child

  • @ckaski i also know that spear and marley wanted a black american base of fans, but the truth is white people are the ones who support reggae, black americans wayyy prefer hip-hop......the vast majority

  • sorry the voice recognition didn't understand me so last message was gibberish

  • I have personally put thousands of dollars in burning spear st pocket and putting ask me where the tape on was she was very rude about it and very un grateful for it jomo Kenyatta was the real burning spear

  • That's me standing directly behind Spear playing riddim guits. Check out my page on here and listen to tracks from my new CD "Iron Shore"!

  • @ckaski i just wish he didn't have such a shitty attitude on his american tours!!!! i met him outside the wetlands in 1997 not a nice guy

  • @1notasheeple @1notasheeple Unfortunately, you are too correct! Not to seem ungrateful for the opportunity, but that was something I noticed right away with him: not very fan friendly. I'd seen it at many stops on that 2000 tour, both in the US and especially in SA.

  • @1notasheeple

The truth is you have to separate the man from the message: Trust me. There are FEW artists whose attitude or behavior actually matches the "message" they proclaim. Fortunately, over the last 14 years or so, I have toured with a group who has come closest to making this match . . . . . . The Meditations.

  • For All who argue on this page if you like reggae music you should NEVER criticise it . just be happy that someones been bothered to post the video for people to see.

  • you should never disrepect someone for uploading a vid by making unfunded nasty statements like unfortunately happens all the time here, but how about just saying you don't dig a song for some reason or another.

BTW these 17 minutes of burning spear are crazy!!!

  • big up

  • heyy...im zander bleck...i just released my new music video for my single "beyond the horizon"... the video was shot in Mali in the Sahara Desert, while performing at the "festival in the desert"...check it out, let me know what you think!

  • the burning spear is a legend. please don't compare him with bob marley, you just can't. there both gems from jamaica. watching a live performance of one of them is magic

  • Why do some people have to put these artists in some kind of hierachy, or competive order? Bob Marley, Burning Spear, Jacob Miller and a lot of great reggae artistes just do what they were put on earth to do: Great Reggae Music with inspiration from the Most High. No First, No Second or Third. Just Great REggae Music...JAH LIVE....

  • hear the words of the rastaman

  • grande burning spear peace and respect from italy

  • Spiritually I think "Burning Spear" means more to Winston Rodney than just a name. I think trying to identify himself as an African and being proud to be an African, he has chosen a name he would like to be called by, but all that matters here is we all know whom we are talking about or reffering to when we say Burning Spear" in the musical scene. And most of all, we all get the ever burning massage from the burning reggae he plays.Jah bless.

  • BURNING AT ITS BEST !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yeah he always got the audience eating from his hand like the pigeons at Tralfalgar Square. He is an orator!!!

  • For Dreestwd and loverstune

Just because Winston Rodney refers to himself as "Burning Spear". I have been listening to BS since the mid 70s (I saw him in concert in 1979) and I still have a collection of old vinyl records of so called BS and not Winston Rodney.

He took the name BS from the 1st president of Kenya (Jomo Kenyatta). I's a tradition in Africa (I'm African) to take a reign name (as a symbol and program) when a king is crowned. And please dont assume people are ignorants.

  • Many thanks for educating us.

  • A true living legend Winston Rodney and the group Burning Spear. Listern to the drums the bassline the lead singer, the words that he sings the message. Its a complete total roots reggae master piece.

  • Undoughtably one of the greatest roots reggae living legend. Winston Rodney and the group Burnings Spear keep up the good work. Respect and one love.

  • I don`t know why everyone keeps referring to Winston Rodney as "Burning Spear." Burning Spear is the band. Winston Rodney is the lead singer. Fire!

  • Because of their limited knowledge of roots reggae music. They need to be forgiven and continuously educated. Like you rightly put it Winston Rodney is the lead singer and the band is called BURNING SPEAR. I guess the confusion comes in the sense that the group has because so popular that evern the DJ around the world get confused. Keep educating them. One love

  • Great!! Reggae music at its best!

  • beautiful, calm, peaceful, relaxing, liberating. Give thanks and praise. Thank you my brother, jah

  • Burning Spear has been in the Roots Reggae trenches for decades. He continues to endure and trying to pass the torch to anyone who is worthy. Burning Spear has been an African visionary. Alpha Blondy,Lucky Dube, and others have been inspired by Burning Spear. Burning Spear is one of the rocks of the house of reggae.

  • GREAT JAH SPEAR BURNING !!!!!!! I love him

  • Wow. Very good. Kind of you to share. Just wow!

  • This is from the first ever visit from Burning Spear to South Africa.

    Just say it BIG-UP!

KEEP THE SPEAR BURNING : )
