  • @rayaankabir but the majority lives in Fairbanks

  • DUDE ALAKA IS A STATE NOT CITY

  • i've been to alaska. the natives are poor financialy. its the gov invadors who make 100+k regulating the population that shoot the average income over 50k. most natives live around the poverty line.

  • how could those Russians sell it for 7 million?

  • wow!!!! 90k

  • Why would u film the graveyard you retard?

  • I live in alaska! It wonderful but I don't live anywhere near barrow. Where I live in Alaska it got up to 70 degrease the other day so it is nice. The coldest weather I've ever had here has been-11 and I've been here for 12 years.

  • I'm from Poland, and travel to Alaska is my biggest dream . Alaska is amazing .

  • Beautiful land and philosophy of life, definitely planning on living there for a year minimum in my late 20's or so.

  • damn,i could never live there..

  • THIS ISNT ALASKA FROM BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME!!!! WHY ISNT IT THE FIRST THING I TYPE WHEN I TYPE ALASKA!

  • @tsunami2011 because natural landscapes of alaska is way better than your stupid music.

  • @iloveursis oh I actually watched this. Alaska looks great! Id love to vacation there. I was just hoping to make a few people chuckle

  • @tsunami2011 oh, then i'm sorry for thinking you were a douchebag. and you're right, alaska looks really wonderful with the scenic landscapes and breathtaking views

  • haha im so bored in wisconsin when i lived in chugiak i was never bored. alaska is one of the last great places. cell phones only work in like 1% of the state, your in the wild.

  • Where is Palin?

  • "Alaskan income is $58000/year, but they just live in houses looking poor 'cuz everything is so expensive" :)

  • craziness

  • Moving to Alaska with my girlfriend in like 4-6 years :3

Which is quite ironic, as I'm moving from one of the most southern most states in the United States, to the Northern Most state. But I LOVE the cold, and dark, so WOO!

  • @M1105X dark? did you not hear him it's practically light all week long

  • @M1105X If you love the dark, I don't think Alaska is the state for you. lol

  • @M1105X You are one of the many my friend

  • there is nothing like the peace and quiet of being in the wilderness-no cars, no noise. Your senses come alive. You really experience true peace in the wilderness away from society.

  • Vidimo se maja Aljaska!!! Worker&Traveler!!!!

  • Alaska is similar to those states on the south of the USA. It looks like northen "Arizona". Somewhere else there is fuss and bustle, Wall Street and 5th Avenue, but here is tranquil life. So much nature around. Beautiful places!

  • @Alexxv46 I live in Northern Arizona! I cry myself to sleep sometimes...

  • My dream is to visit Alaska but it s very big state and you have to use plane to get to some places, what is probobaly expensive. (I wish to visit far North) Not for a student budget so far haha

  • @michal16000 South East of Alaska along the coastal line is great. Juneau, Sitka, Cordova and Valdez are all great places

  • I'm going to visit this place someday.

  • How I dream of living in Alaska! ! !

  • If you live in this fucking place you are stupid.

  • nice music and nice landscapes as well

  • That was FANTASTIC! wow i love seeing places I will never go. Great video.

  • i've lost my admiration for lonely planet a while ago, but still sad to see that you can work for them using terms as "eskimos" and being totally americano-centric. how can you generalize peoples ambitions and life-styles like that - summarizing their lifes utter goal wanting to earn up for a snow mobile. you seem to have learnt nothing traveling.

  • I lived in Alaska so hearing this guy talk he is full of B.S !

These Natives are over flowing wealthy rich with American tax payers hand out dollars and native corporation money hand outs

They also rarely use sled dogs and main transportation is a snow machine or ATV which they get all for free from tax payer hand outs .

Some of these native get free top of the live Ford or Chevy Truck just for being worthless lazy drunken natives living of American tax money .

  • Is this guy the best lonely planet could come up with? He goes to a place and insults the people and place (unknowingly I guess) and is generally dimwitted and annoying. Not saying I could do better but leave this guy at the bar where you found him and get someone with a little intelligence and tact.

  • hahahaahahahaaha this duddeee iss soooo funny! haha hhaha ha!

  • I live in a house in the wilderness of Alaska. I love sitting home on a cold day with my woodstove going and the snow falling outside. I curl up on my couch next to the window and read with a cup of coffee. I love my home! I was born and raised in alaska!!!

  • @akrobin31 u lucky bastard. i havent been but i already know that i would love to live out there out in the bush . society is sick today, otherwise id be there.

  • @akrobin31 you're happy man

  • he said "snowmochine"

    [snowmobile+snowmachine?]

lol correcting himself for the cheechakos' sake.

  • @spoonradar thats what they call em there was up working this fall going back december

  • Just got back from Alaska done the wilderness experiance also a hunt on kootznoowu cant wait to go back.

  • @sergiesmax1 how's it like?i mean like the environment and the people?i'd love to go and visit there sometime in the future.

  • @BlackWinchester Friendly people and the Enviroment is just fantastic nature at its best.A unforgetable experiance that I will do again.

  • thats what i used to do with all those other kids in my hometown, runaway from the vpso officers, it was fun; now that i look at it i should have been at home sleeping haha.

  • thats it thats all u can do up there. just watch some birds while freezing ur ass off in the sun. what a vacation.

  • i want this guys job

  • god! i love snow so much! :D

  • Im from alaska and i was hoping to see you know maybe a good docementary on alaska not this shit about barrow ive been to barrow twice in the "summer" or early fall and its just overal a completly shit ass town probably the worse place ive ever been ive seen the sights i jumped in the artic ocean for there polar bear dip challenge and other than the football game there was absolutely nothing to fuck do at all

  • Comment removed

  • Im from barrow originally. a few of your perceptions on the village are kinda wrong on why the people do the things they do. especially on why the village looks the way it does. most families have plenty of cash cushion and its not really a matter of expense. its just that most people aren't about flash and it would be a hassle to have to renovate and fix up every single thing every summer because of the winter weather damage. 1:51 was my old house from when I was growing up by the way hehe.

  • Nice documentation you have here. keep it up hope to have more from you !

  • still calls them " Indians" and "Eskimos" ...how are some American people so politically incorrect. learn your history and realize both of those terms are incorrect haha

  • we can care less about political correctness :)

  • @bolatluver29 thats why Americans come off as the most retarded people on this planet

  • @sldnx10 yep, other countries say that too ... until they need our help lol

  • @bolatluver29 funny part is ... Americans lend out all that money at expense of your economy.. learn your shit

  • @sldnx10 correction: our politicians lend all that money at our expense .... learn YOUR shit

  • @bolatluver29 you live in a democratic country... so you just stated what i've just said... go read a book then come talk

  • @sldnx10 hey smartass, look at the polls. the majority of the AMERICAN ppl disappove of this liberal spending....and a majority of the voters who elected these ppl are minorities, some weren't even born in the states... and or somebody who obsesses over political correctness, you sure do throw out alot of words that are pretty hateful [like a 10 year old]. which,by definition, makes you a hypocrite. PWNED

  • @bolatluver29 if they can vote they are "american"... your mixing the concept of "race" with the concept of people of a "state". ........PWNED go read a book with your friend

  • @sldnx10 noooo, they're "citizens". just because you come from another country, doesn't mean you can't vote. no one said anything race, i said 'minorities' theres a differences. can you read? you want me to read you a book? ok, i got "cat in the hat" and "frosty the snowman". anything other than those is probably too advanced for ya.

  • @bolatluver29 if they are "citizens" why can't they vote? they went through the procedure to get their citizenship, therefore they can vote if they come from a different country...

minority - : a part of a population differing from others in some characteristics and often subjected to differential treatment.

skin color is a characteristic... maybe go take a demographics class

    thanks for coming out

  • @sldnx10 where, in comments below, did i say "citizens that weren't born here aren't allowed"? nowhere, because i didn't say that. idiot

"minority - : a part of a population differing from others in some characteristics and often subjected to differential treatment"

no shit, whats your point? RACE isn't the only characteristic that makes a minority. nobody bought up race, except you

  • @bolatluver29 omg you are hopeless buddy maybe graduate college then come talk to me hahahaha.

and im using race to justify the "minority" get your head out of your ass. i give up its entirely impossible for me to argue with some one who doesn't even use logic.. once again typical uneducated american

  • @sldnx10 i did graduate college :). BTW, you never answered my question. probably because you can't. go ahead give it up, thats the smartest thing you said yet. no, you can't argue because you got pwned and you make the "typical uneducated american" look like an honor student. bye bye

  • @bolatluver29 hahaha honors , you didnt even shoot for a masters..

  • @sldnx10 Eskimos are called Eskimos.... that is "PC"

  • that guy sounds pretty gay

  • 3:57 'snow mo chine'

    bahahaha

  • It reminds me of when i used to live in North Russia just like that, barren and cold sun during night and the winter is awful so dark and cold and lonely :( so many people suffered from depression!

  • I live in alaska and there is bigger citys but it can get really lonely and depressing in winter with all that darkness. Then we all go crazy in the summer and stay up all night having fun. So in a way we all hibernate here lol

  • is it nice living in Alaska?! i've wanted to move there since i was very young, plan on moving up ina few years

  • people is been living there for thousands and thousands of yeras?

  • awesome..... Looks like any small town in the US,.... lol

  • i ;ove eskimo pie's

  • Eskimo rules..

    A better life..

  • wE USE TO DO THAT,PISS THE COPS OFF IN OUR LITTLE TOWN AND HAVE THEM CHASE US!

  • You cannot see Russia from Nome- Look at Nome on a map, you will see it is facing western Alaska not eastern Alaska, still it is in the North on the Seward peninsula; google it. The ONLY place where you CAN SEE RUSSIA from Alaska is Little Diomede Island, (however you cannot see mainland Russia) you see Big Diomede Island. The twin Islands are separated by THE political boundry- even though the Little Diomede population is fastly transfering to Port Clarence/Teller for economic reasons.

  • Why did he only go to Barrow?

  • You can see Russia from Nome, not Barrow...

  • Can I see Russia when I get there?!?!??!?!

  • wow, thats cool! i still think its bizzar how there can be 24 hr of strait sunlight (that would be so fun) how come its so expensive?

  • the cost of getting things up there is very high. so what does get brought up there is marked up heavily to pay for shipping and all the insurances involved in traveling to such a place.

i knew a guy who worked on a crab boat, he said a single tomato out where he staying was like $4.50US.

  • I've been to Barrow and Wainwright. I'm surprised they found a sunny day to film.
