  • where do i buy one

  • Seems I heard 3 different sets of horns? First were the D-2s? Then the T-3's, but what was the last, very deep horn, that sounded almost like a Leslie-Tyfon 300? It blew starting at 1:22.

I'm thinking of buying a new set of D-2s for my boat. They do seem to have a good sound, don't you think? I've found them at a marine supply place on line for $1,299. brand new.

Thanks for the post, great sounds!

  • NEW JERSEY DEVILS SCORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That echo carried. and are ship horns louder than train horns?

  • @killallianceftw A little bit. But more significantly, they are lower in pitch, which allows the sound to travel farther (less atmospheric absorption).

  • @airraidsiren

which is just what you need in fog given that a typical bulk ship takes 4 miles to stop and 2 miles to turn round

  • i know ive said this before, but its freaking amazing. listening to this with headphones on at the website is purely heaven.

  • Hah, ive actually right where this car is.

  • The echo is very ethereal

  • container ship?

  • carolina hurricanes goal horn

  • @goalie1131 And NJ Devils horn too. The first one is the Devils one and the 2nd one is the Canes one.

  • hey man, i love ship/train horns but i cant really seem to find good deals on any horns. If you know of any Ship/Train horns or sellers that sell for reasonable prices please let me know where i can get my hands on some horns like a K5LA train horn or a ship horn with good sounds(s-203cht preferably). And any idea where i can get some automatic compressors to keep an air tank filled as long as air tanks for sale. Please and thank you!

  • Do you have that huge air tank in the truck with you all the time? How do you keep it from sliding around in the bed while you're driving? Also, I was curious, do you have some kind of compressor on the Explorer itself to fill your tank back up? If so, what kind is it?

  • Beautiful echo

and the Birds just like ...." wtf?????"

  • Beautiful echo

  • at first i thought another car/boat was on the other side returning your honks!

  • Do you Know what Notes the D2 Plays?

  • So loud yet eerie and yet beautiful.

  • The D-2 sounds sweet, sophisticated and tasteful. I get this image in my head of a beautiful Feadship yacht that is ready to break off from port.

    The D-3, not so much.

  • haha you crazy! nice horns

  • so much for hunting

  • take it to a ski slope in the alps and cause an avalanche lol

  • "Whatthe F*** is a ship doing in here!"

  • wow. must have cost you a lot of money.

    nice horns.

  • :D:D OMG GEIL!

    Ich brauch auch sowas :P

    Very Nice Made

  • D-2 is so nice!

    T-3 i don't like!

  • why?

  • wow *-*

    what a deep sound

  • i would be scared to death if i was hiking in those mountains and heard that

  • @doomangel444 AVALAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNCCEE!

  • have u been arrested for using such horns???

  • 1:25 Sweeet ......

  • Woow men!!, its great echo-reverb-delays sound and very good video!!!

  • It scared the birds in the trees !!!!!!!!!!

  • i want the Doran Cunningham 6-B

that is one bad ass fucking horn.

  • Yup, I love my Doran-Cunningham 6-B! And yes, it is one bad ass horn. My favorite for sure...

  • no words!!!

  • That's a kickass echo dude!

  • Yes, that is the trickiest part; getting the echo recorded. Most audio/video recorders fail to get the full range of sound that you would hear in person including the faint echo at the end that cound last longer that 20 seconds or so...

  • Adam, I like the way the Cunningham 6-B sneeks in there unexpectedly towards the end.

  • OH DEAR GOD! That was beyond bad ass! If a car/truck or Elephant ran in to the frot of anothercar car you and hit themm a few tiems with your horns it woul be worth it cost to built. Really a geat job!

  • hey ive been there,

Damit why wasnt i there when this happend adam!

did you ask the town befor you did this though?

    keep it up !

  • the trumpets of final judgement!!

  • sei un pazzo.

  • Awesome video I loved the echo of the sound in the trees far away can you please do more videos of this rig

  • That is awsmome. I am getting my own Doran-Cunningham 6-B soon cometo think of it. Going to scare people in town. hope i dont get caught! lol!

  • Jessica/cruisecap1244,

I wish you all the luck trying to get a Doran-Cunningham 6-B. They are very rare. I know that from experience.

  • amına koydu dağın tepenin :D

  • 126+ are badass!!!!

  • thats got to be more the a 126 db , mine is a 156 db at 150psi train horn .. thats a big ass horn you got .. nice !!!!!

  • WHere do you get your horns and compressors?!?

  • pure fuckin music!! I love the way those T-3s blow.

  • damn love it. what kind of recorder were you using for the sound i can even here the birds in the background. good video also :)

  • This clip was done with my Canon Elura 100 camcorder, with an Audio Technica AT-822 mic plugged into it and on a separate tripod. The hum you hear is from the bear swamp hydro project's substations about 50 feet or so behind the camera.

  • 2 words: holy shit.

  • @Robinistic What are Elgenvalves?

  • Very cool. I like the last horn, deep sounding blast.

  • the echo on these things is nuts!

  • I want that last ship horn. Yup, I'd rig it to my wee wittle Neon. Now a if a 1991 Dodge Neon making ship noises doesn't turn heads, then I don't know what will!!! XD

  • that is crazy!!! Great video!!

  • Love the echo--nothing like the mtns for reverb

  • That echo is awesome. You should find a way to drag one of your sirens up there :-)

  • how much did you pay for the horn?

  • this is fuckin awsome..i love the echo

  • honk if your horny

  • how far can those be heard?

  • Miles probably, the last horn had a HUGE echo!!!

  • Thats the horn I need when driving on I95 in Florida

  • Holy shit! That's a loud fucking horn! I want those on my car.

  • Super :)

  • what a magnificent place to live

  • Not with that MoFo blasting his horns!! =)

  • Its OK there deff anyway LOL

  • heh. you know of the horn on the aerial lift bridge in duluth, MN? i'm almost positive it's a cunningham. just not sure which chimes make up the horn.

  • I love the eco it gives out, Look out a ship is coming!!!

  • 1 word.......... wow!!!

  • INCREDIBLE echoes!

  • I agree

  • You needs to come up to Anchorage next summer to Point Worrenzof...maybe do a demo at the State Fair in Wasilla, too. Dare ya!

  • Shiver Me Timbers! Bloody Wonderful. Imagine the guy at the other end of that valley wondering what the hell was going on!

  • SWEET SWEET MUSIC <GREAT ECHO !!

  • that echo is just beyond describing with just words!

  • Unfortunately, YouTube makes all video clips monaural. It's really something to hear these in stereo, so I put them up in QuickTime format on my site: shiphorns (dot) com (slash) media

  • yep i wish i was actually there to hear it in person!

  • @airraidsiren u werent kidding shiphorns (.) com (/) media (/) typeb_brass_nhr (.) mov

  • @airraidsiren Just dropped by your site. HOLY CRAPS!. Sound quality on the download format is so much nicer. Gotta do this to my Baja ;)>
