This is a nice truck. How'd it do towing? I have a 96 1500 on a 4/6 and I'm curious as to how well a lowered truck tows. As for the haters, Go build your own shit so we can hate on you. DON"T HATE APPRISHIATE!
@tillyb1989 I drive an 89 C1500 on a 4/6 and I've hauled 800lbs in the box after the drop, did bottom out a bit over some traintracks ... if you're doing more than 600lbs all the time in the box, or hauling a trailer more than once a month I'd invest in some helper airbags, will make your towing 100x better.
@bradenn Thanks for the advice. I've done a little hauling in the bed but I try to keep that to a minimum. I mostly pull an 18 foot car trailer. I tow any where from once a month to once a week in the summer time. I might take your advice and invest in a set of helper bags for the rear. Are you running C notches in the rear? That's something else I need in the back of mine. If so how much did you gain by notching the frame?
@tillyb1989 Do you pull the car hauler loaded or empty? Car hauler loaded with a C1500 might be getting close to its limits. I am running DJM c-notches bolted and welded. I didnt gain anything from installing the notches, it just allows more clearance between the frame and axle tubes. I installed the flipkit gave me close to 7" of drop in the back.
@bradenn I did the exact same. The only thing I didn't install is the C notches. They sent me the wrong ones for my truck. Sometime in the near future I'm going to make my own but at the moment there's no need. I usually pull it loaded but its only a single car hauler. 18 foot tandem axle flatbed. And I'm usually hauling my project truck. I don't think I'd wanna go much bigger with a half ton. Although, I did pull a 43' camper with it at stock heigth last summer. That was a work out lol.
opps scratch the 30,000 I just sold the truck for 10,000 I realy didnt need the money ;) That guy is gonna love it and got a great deal its back to the east coast.
thats funny I'm a 36 year old white guy thats retired now living the dream. Thats why I could afford the 135,000.00 to build the truck and now would take 30,000.00 because I dont really need it. ;) Not mexican!
