In the Kate Bush documentary it's stated that this song is based on the book The Secret Garden. Many if her songs were about books. - Wuthering Heights, Cloudburstung etc...

i have to agree with puppyjim here, not on you being authoritarian in your manner of saying it's about child abuse. Just in that Kate Bush has mentioned a couple of times as to the song's meaning, and has said that it is about two lovers meeting in secret. I personally don't see any notations to child abuse. If i was to give it another/dramatic interpretation i would say maybe a suicide note from a person to their loved one. But the song's intentional meaning IS a secret liason. Nice video btw

I have no issue with your dislike of my interpretation, you are certainly entitled to your opinion as I am with mine. To me, that is the way the song spoke to me. And to make you happy, I will edit the song notes to reflect that since it was apparently unclear that this was my "interpretation."

However, maybe you should keep in mind that when you attack another artist and something they put their creative love into. You kill their spirit just a bit. And while I applaud your love of Kate Bush and her lyrical content, I wish you could have been a bit nicer about it.

While I appreciate that you watched the video and read the notes, I'm not sure that you can say with 100% authority that is NOT about child abuse. There's several different interpretations out there, and my description is the one that resonated to most with me lyrically. As a songwriter myself, I know that often times lyrics can be interpreted in different ways, depending on the listener. In fact, I wouldn't ever want to impose a specific definintion in my songs, so maybe she wouldn't either.
