The biggest problem with the fake Mac products is that they possibly contain lead which is, of course, hazardous for your health. This problem is a huge one. There are great low cost beauty products available all over the USA.

I just went on the website you mentioned just to have a look what they had and i can see your point; it is extremely good value IF the product is safe and good quality but the thing that bothers me is the fact they are selling fake viva glam lipsticks and still claiming the proceeds go to the mac aids fund. Oh I totally get where you are coming from! I am a single mommy on a super tite budget but I want to look good too! I've bought high end make up from MAC, Nars, and Chanel, and I've also bought makeup from the beauty supply store down from my house. I've found that even though the expensive stuff is okay, A LOT of the cheaper is more highly pigmented, (kleancolor 12 very vibrant shades @ 1.49) and more comfortable to wear. Especially lipsticks. I'll take Malibu Girl to Lancome anyday! :) It doesn't have to cost as much as your light bill to work!

There is no problem with fake MAC, as long as you as the consumer are INFORMED! You shouldn't have to pay what you pay for authentic MAC when it comes to fake MAC. I don't mind fake MAC, as long as it does the job! =]

Damn straight! I think as long as you know what you're getting, there's NOTHING wrong with fake MAC; I'm in the process of getting some pigments now. You are SO right!! It really shouldn't matter what the brand name is. What matters is how well the product works. I think most of the people that you were talking about get upset because they like to boast about how they can afford it. It's a symbol of how well off they are. But by people who don't have much being able to have access to it ; it makes having it less impressive and less of a social standing symbol.
