well my whole motor is fixed up... aluminum heads, bore .30, high cam, roller rockers, flat pistons, corvette tranny, 373 gears on the diff. headers all that good stuff and i put a msd dist. cuz its an rs tbi...(;.;) but my tab says one thing so i put it 16 degrees ahead as recomended by technitians and still sluggish..i cant even burn rubber if i tried

put l31 heads on it, you can get them in the junkyard XD. message me if you wan info on 320 pony 305s or 400 pony 305s. ( ive got a smokin fucking 305 rated at about 330 hp.)
I had a 1987 carb. LG4, ran PERfECT and did some mods to it...it could beat most rice rockets but it could never beat a fox 5.0. My 87 350tpi iroc will crush stangs all day long though ;] 305's just can't hold up to the mighty fox 302

heads especially on the 305's are brittle... I've heard of the 305 heads cracking from several people... although I really have no experience with them... like you said... same game as the 350 though...
as far as parts go... I have a complete LG4 with ported heads... I am taking the intake and carb... but the heads down are up for grabs... I also have a 350 intake/tbi unit with harness I was going to bolt up to the 305

I call B.S. Dude a 1990 IROC-Z is Fuel Injected not Carbed, and it would take alot more than just a Flowmaster and a ANY Carb to make your car kit 161mph, Stock top speed on a 1990 IROC is 145mph. Plus a 1990 IROC is kinda rare as it was the last year(all 1990 IROC's were made in the 89 model year) before Dodge took over the IROC racing series.

Yea, it depends what you got if you got a 92 Camaro RS with doggy 305, you better invest at least between 3000$-6500$ In a brand new engine and drivetarin and lot of time Into it, unelss u got a z28 or Iroc or Firebird with TPI. 305 lo3's, even worse ones are 6 bangers and V4's is just a crap engines tht needs to be change out with entire drivetrain if you wona teach Mustangs and Import crap a lesson!
The 4 and 6 banger engines do need alot of help or replacing. The V8's on the other hand don't. I've got a 86 Z/28 with a "Doggy" Carbed 305 5 Speed, I only put a new clutch and flywheel, headers, intake manifold, carb, exhaust, and swapped out the computer controlled Distributor for an old school vaccum advance HEI one. It runs low 15's, and thats on the original 175,XXX mile engine. Even the TBI engines do ok with a little work, they don't need to be replaced. Trust me.
I think what he is trying to say that just because its still a hatch back "the 93 and up models" that its still considered a 3rd gen. But who knows what this guy is thinking. just my .02 worth

Not that hard to fix, should take you about
30 minutes to fix if its distributor related, maybe a couple hours if it's timing chain related. Get it back on the road.

not bad... I actually just swapped an LG4 outta my Firebird project car... replaced it with a HO 5.7L 350 from a Silverado...
have you modified your LG4 at all? They like cams and porting... I've already seen them with close to 300 hp...
if you live in PA and want any LG4 parts, I have quite a few...

that's mainly because the 305 is an emissions motor... just isn't built with the same stamina as Chevy's bread and butter 350

Actually the 305 and 350 run the same crank and rods, just different pistons, cam, and heads.
