@Ovation1771AX I worked it out by ear... but you could get a tab for the Continuum version just by searching on Google, then learn the C sharp minor pentatonic scale to improvise over the top of the rhythm parts!
I mean sorry to clutter up your page, but this is the closest thing to sounding like Mayer himself than I have found anywhere on youtube with the many covers. If John Mayer himself were messing around he might play it this way. Dude, I hope I can be this good some day. If I were this good, I would play for myself every night and be able to enjoy my own sounds instead of concentrating just to try to play something.
@thephamcookiemonster Nope, the amp is miked up and I'm recording the audio through a mixer into Logic Pro. At the same time, the video is being recorded with the built-in camera on my Mac into iMovie. Then it's just a case of syncing the 2 together!
@InspiredProphecy Thanks dude! As far as I can remember, I just used the ME-70 for the loop station. So no effects, just straight into the Fender Hot Rod Deluxe. I tend to take the treble down to around 4 and the bass/mids up to 6 or 7 for amp settings.
(sorry for the double comment but) I'm surprised this hasn't got more comments + views!
You should join Ultimate Guitar, and start promoting your videos man - would be really helpful as there are some good like-minded musicians there. Will definitely give you great feedback!
@Splinter363 Thanks for the comment! The guitar is a Manito New Orleans. Their guitars are quite cheap, and they play like it to be honest (the 'wood' of the body feels very plasticy) It does sound quite good though, and that's mainly down to the lovely Fender Hot Rod Deluxe my friend let me borrow! :)
Great tone and you're very fluent when you play this. I like the way you have used the looper on the Boss to your advantage, has been used very effectively.
I see that you've developed the piece throughout with the various layers, but maybe perhaps you could let loose by the end. For example, when I solo I start off slowly with an idea, and then by the end of the piece I'm adding in faster, more technical phrases. Perhaps you could experiment with this?
What guitar is that?
