The biggest frustration for me since getting the TouchPad is how it becomes unresponsive for several seconds at a time almost randomly, even after the 3.0.2 update. Having used the iPad and the Transformer, it's very annoying. Here's to hoping HP coming out w/ a new patch soon, or homebrew it is.
iOS multitasking is just function over form, the live cards are almost useless, you either have to swipe like a madman or you are forced to make stacks, their only purpose is to look cool, the icon i enough to figure out what app it is
on mobile device the OS should kill your apps when there are not enough resources, not leave it up to the user to figure out what is causing the slowdown
this stuff should "just work", people are running away from their PCs to the phones and tablets for a reason
@djangoguru the iPAD is not doing true multi-tasking...it is doing app switching. The card view is to show you what your multiple apps are doing at the same time. think of them as pieces of paper on your desk that are consistently updating when they are open. For example, if you leave your e-mail, messaging, and internet browser open you will see them updating in card view! That is the point of card view! It is easier then iOS's way of open app, close app, open app..etc.
@icicle1906 the iPad has good enough multitasking to work well AND not drain battery AND not slow down the system to a crawl, tell me one single app you need to see small unreadable live view of to have benefits of any kind except the gimmick cool effect, the notifications are more than enough to inform you the task was completed, the e-mail or message was received. There is nothing easier in swiping around to figure out if things have changed if you also have notifications, that let you know.
@djangoguru iPAD freezes the apps in place when "app switching" sometimes. With webOS you can just pick up where you left off. There is no gimmick to it at all. That is how it was made from the ground up. Apple took note and added in "app switching." For me, I think webOS's UI alone makes it easier to use IMHO than iOS. In my response, I was trying to explain what card view was and show that it is indeed really useful. But hey it is a free country and I can't change how you feel.
