  • can it edit full feature film

  • @beepsbobby1 Yes it can!

  • Do you play these games through bootcamp?

  • @A7FO Some of them. Most of the games work natively with the Mac OS X, but the other chunk of games I play are through Bootcamp.

  • @EverythingISTech Okay, When I get my Mac there are only 3 games I care about. Skyrim, Battlefield 3, and Call Of Duty. Would I have to run these through Bootcamp?

  • Bootcamp and play any windows games....

  • great review bro! im buying one, should i go with the 3.4ghz & 4gs of ram or the 3.1ghz and 8gbs of ram? i cant afford to get em both.

  • @Toddmars Go with the 3.4ghz and 4gbs of ram. Why? Because later on you can upgrade the ram by yourself for half the price of Apple's ram.

  • fuck it keeps skipping fuck you

  • Just ordered mine I7 8gb RAM 2gb graphics card 1tb hd

  • awesome review bro! getting my next week. your voice reminds me of aziz ansari haha

  • I picked up the i7 3.4 with 4gb ram with the 1 gb video card over the weekend. The SDD upgrade is EXPENSIVE. The best upgrade seems to be getting the extra RAM on the vid card.

  • Just ordered my iMac! I got a 1TB and an SSD, i7, and 2GB GPU! Can't wait!

  • @TheAppleReviewGuy Sweet! Enjoy it!

  • So I'm getting the 27" for Christmas, and we had to go to Best buy to put it in Layaway, and the 21" looks like a 13" next to the 27" hahahaha

  • @supahhfreak Believe me; I cannot even use my Macbook Pro after using the my 27inch iMac.

  • @supahhfreak Lol, I guess I'll put mine in the laptop bag already... RIP. :D

  • Finally a good review many thanks!, took me forever to find a decent review -.-.

  • @Mr420rush THank you! Glad you enjoyed it.

  • * memory too

  • Can the 21.5 inch iMac go up to 16 gb of m

  • @Thechawkable Yes it can.

  • I was going to get the i5 3.1Ghz and only the 1gb graphics card, how will that do for gaming? was looking for Rage and Skyrim etc, is that asking too much?

  • @10Dave1 I think the games will run fine on the specs. Im not sure if you could completely max them out, but I don't think it will be a waste.

  • @EverythingISTech thanks dude, I do want to go for the upgrade but its a lot of money at the end of the day.

  • @10Dave1 I know! I can understand.

  • Cool

  • awsum but will it blend ? :P

  • I'm looking at getting an imac or mac pro but don't know how they will handle what I'm after... I do casual gaming like you and want to do HD video editing and photo work. The aim is to handle whatever a Canon 5diii will put out (when it gets released). It will probably put out photo's around 30-50mb each and possibly have 26 megapixels.

    What do people recommend?

  • I wish you would say iMac more often.

  • thanks

  • @beepsbobby1 No Problem!

  • can you edit a full feature film on the 27 imac 3.4 ghz

  • @beepsbobby1 yes easily!

  • i have bought the new mac yesterday from apple it cost me nealy £2,000

  • @xboxboff What configurations?

  • @EverythingISTech

    2.7GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5

    4GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB

    1TB Serial ATA Drive

    AMD Radeon HD 6770M 512MB GDDR5

    Apple Magic Mouse

    Apple Battery Charger

    Apple Wireless Keyboard

    Accessory Kit

And a printer and the apple cover plan too

  • @xboxboff oh alright

  • i'm debating getting an iMac with 3.4ghz i7 over a Mac Pro. I'd be using it for ESP vision and Vectorworks Spotlight doing stage and lighting design.

What's the best route to take.

  • @thack89 I was in the same place about 9 months ago. I went with the iMac because this one was really close to the 8 core Mac Pro (it even beat the pro in some places), and its much more cheaper. Even though you can only upgrade the RAM by yourself (you can upgrade to an SDD with a little bit of help from an Apple Genius) the iMac is fast. You also get a beautiful 27inch display and since I do Photo/Video editing, it works well altogether. Good Luck. If you want more info, please message me back

  • $40 for good speakers? Are you nuts! No good speaker costs just $40!

  • @grahamhg Sorry. *Decent Speakers*

  • with the 2gb vram version of 6970 ( although it's technically a mobile version of that video card) & 3.4ghz..there's nothing odd about gaming on that machine.

Example=Starcraft II. I've seen plenty of people game on iMac playing it at 2560x1440 rez. all eye candy maxed out except for shadows at medium and STILL keep fps at or slightly above 20 fps on 125+ toons on screen fighting=pretty damn good imo. price vs this performance? meh. but all in one unit must be taken into account. cheers

  • @chronofusion Well said. Even for the price I think the machine is good. The way I think about my iMac is about $1400 for the internal (Processor, etc); the rest for the 27 inch screen.

  • $2000+ ...I think you should buy some Windex

awesome video though don't mean to troll or hate...excellent video.

  • @greenleaflink Haha thank you. As far as cleaning goes, I use my own method for cleaning it.

  • would you recommend the base line 21.5" imac? thanks

  • @JimBaww What are you going to be using the mac for?

  • But will it blend?

  • @Darksteel1335 nope they don't make end user blenders big enough for the iMac to fit in. ( wtf does every idiot keep asking this stupid question as if he thinks he is clever enough to get a laugh) *shakes his head*

  • Is this good for gaming (call of duty)?

  • @HU55UN1 Yes!

  • @HU55UN1 I Think You Can Only Get Cod4 On iMac At The Moment If I'm Not Mistaken Bro

  • @RealDesignsHD I think Bootcamp exists for a reason, bro.

  • Hey,

Got One Question Is It Good For Gaming If It Comes With Graphics Card, And Also Is It Good For Editing? Please Reply Because Im Getting A Imac 27Inch Soon With 4GB Memory. Im Getting It In 10 For My Birthday (:

  • @TheHazzaaHD Check your messages :)

  • @EverythingISTech thanks, subbed (:

  • @TheHazzaaHD no Problem! THanks :)

  • @EverythingISTech

So the guy in the apple store was basically trying to make me buy his ram?

  • @blackhawkcrewuk I hate to say it, but yes :( I even confirmed the fact with a few Apple representatives online. Besides, If you want to buy ram, get it from Kingston or Amazon or another 3rd party seller. Buying ram from Apple is throwing away money.

  • @EverythingISTech Yer I'm in the UK so I think Crucial is the best as it comes with a guarantee and a decent price. Thanks for your help.

  • @blackhawkcrewuk Yep Crucial Memory will do. No Problem. Please like the video and Subscribe! Really helps me out!

  • The 2011 iMac 27" can actually hold 32GB of RAM, it's just that expensive right now that it's not worth recommending. But for future reference it's worth knowing.

  • @ChalkeyProductions Sadly the Max it can hold is 16GB. Of course you can put 4x8GB ram modules into the iMac, but it will not be able to utilize it. So the max Ram you can install is 16GB.

  • @EverythingISTech OWC developed 32GB RAM for the 2010 model which successfully worked, and have been quoted in saying: "The 2010 models use the same memory and they did address and accept up to 32GB of memory, so it is a pretty safe assumption that the new models will as well."

  • @ChalkeyProductions Maybe Apple might do something to tell their people this then lol/

  • @EverythingISTech Haha I know. I think it's more to do with a specific company developing them as an almost niche add-on, whereas if Apple mentioned the hardware was capable of 32GB people would go onto Amazon and get standard RAM not designed for it. So Apple promote what is possible with the usual Crucial style RAM. I've ordered the 27" i7 with the 2GB AMD card myself 2 days ago and purchased an additional 8GB RAM [2x4GB] which has already arrived. 12GB should be more than enough for now.

  • @ChalkeyProductions Nice! Enjoy it. I myself plan to install 16GB on it shortly.

  • Does putting in your own ram void the apple warranty?

  • @blackhawkcrewuk No it doesn't.

  • are 4 gigs of ram good enough for just daily use, light editing with imovie and iphoto and stuff like that? i mean alot of people say its slow and things but im wondering if 4 gigs is sufficient? please reply!?!?

  • @kunalhuhu Its really sufficient. I do video-editing, Photo-editing and several windows open, and the iMac runs smoothly. Of course, I am personally going to upgrade to 16GB ram so that I can run Photoshop alot faster.

  • @EverythingISTech aight thanks man..ima stick with 4gigs and add more if i need it..but i think il be good with 4 gigs

  • i have an alienware with 32gb of ram and an i7 processor with 4.00 ghz! the most ram i can possibly get is 64 gb! its to expensive though! but it does run anything i want it to! and it is always super smooth

  • @CnfedrateSh4d0w What version is the Alienware? The Aura?

  • @EverythingISTech no it is a laptop! i have the m18x

  • one other thing. the SSD and a HARD DRIVE are two different things. ssd= solid state drive. hdd=hard disk drive. Also.

How is 620.3 under the " % cpu" usage on your activity monitor ( same thing as task manager in windows) the same as 45% cpu usage per Handbrake at 9:14? I also see 78.21% user under CPU "tab?" highlighted at the bottom? I DID thumbs up the video. but you made some WAY TOO OBVIOUS verbal mistakes man. Ya gotta double check your narration. good video otherwise

  • & no I won't thumbs down your video just because you had one little brain fart ( at 3:37 " again is hd it's approved" ) but sorry I had to correct you on that. as far as the gaming part I'd like to see a video with metro 2033 at 2560x1440 on your iMac just to see how well the 6970 2gb amd vid card inside with iMac's snow leopard ( and soon im assuming you'll upgrade to Lion later this month) and the 3.4 gig sandy bridge runs that game. a 512 8800gt will run sc2 fine at medium. good vid though

  • wow. DONT love the loud ass music which makes me have to totally turn all the way down my speakers...then I have to crank them 55% back up just to hear the narrator. and also " video output 640x480."

    480 is not " hd ".

480p is the maximum of standard definition which isn't bad, but it's not hd.

Standard hd is 720p, full hd is 1080p, and then im not sure if the creators of the hd devices have dubbed an official name for 2560x1440=16:9 aspect ratio nor 2560x1600=16:10 ratio yet. Hyper hd?

  • @chronofusion I meant to say "apparently." I know most of the basics with resolution. Apple claims that the iSight is HD when only the colors have been increased. And no one has dubbed a name for 2560x1440, although the "hyper HD" will probably be better suited towards the upcoming 4k resolution.

  • Nice review, just got a new iMac myself. Do you know if more memory = faster rendering time? I make videos too, and rendering times are sometimes ridiculous.

  • @McGoiter Thanks! Memory doesn't help too much in rendering but helps more in multi-tasking.

  • @EverythingISTech Oh okay, thanks.

  • @McGoiter No Problem
