Marty , you are still so amazing. I have 4 generations of family that book to see you every year. We just love you AND your wildcats! Thanks for dedicating this one to my daughter Keeley last year! Wendy x
The man who welcomes you to the show and introduces Marty back to the stage is not Marty's son Ricki, it is Marty's lead guitar player, Neville Marten. :)
Could write great songs as well, let alone this magnificent performance. Never has received the true accolades that he deserved but has continually worked through the years.
The first fan letter I wrote as a schoolgirl was to Marty Wilde,in 1958.He replied personally on a typewriter, obviously not typed by a secretary. He answered every question I asked. He said what he disliked most was insincerity in people. I was too young to know then what he meant but his attitude has since stood me in good stead over the years.
saw marty wilde live at alnwick playhouse and for probably the first time of going to watch all the oldies i havent been the youngest person there lol there was at least a couple under 12s i reckon haha (im 16 btw). Well i guess its good to know that all the great music from way back then hasnt been forgotten, i mean come on, there is no way you can compare marty wildes voice to the majority of artists at the minute, even though he is about 70 now! Simply awesome. and so were the wildcats.
Saw Marty for the first time at Yarmouth at a 60s weekender last year, Must say I was very impressed with his voice and his band, the most polite lovely guys you could meet.
