I remember seeing Genesis at the LA Forum in the early 80s and the crowd was going apeshit through the whole show. They used to blow crowds away. I'm afraid Phil's charisma is gone and the band just look like they're going through the motions.
What do you want - Jagger? Courtney Love? Iggy? They ARE older, but playing quite well, I think, and this is opening night - in Finland, where jumping is unpatriotic. Y'all are flinging way too much cr-p at 'em. Besides - the amount of abuse Phil's been taking recently, it makes sense he'd be a little depressed. But I think they sound tight and into it. Maybe this being 2007 and Tony Banks having jowls is making you think of your own midlife crisis? True for me.
