Okay, cool! This is similar to what I've been thinking of doing - so I may try this. Still, I would perfer smaller balls (wait, did I just say that?) with a batter coating that uses masa instead of white flour and more of a deep fry cooking method. I make good meals with my rice cooker but I would like to make more finger food with leftovers that I can share with my neighbors. Got any suggestions? I'm thinking just egg, masa, and salt. My rice meals already have meat vegies, and cheese.
i do somethin similar with leftover rice all the time, except i just heat through the seasoning and cheese and don;t fry it but i think this is worth a crack.
@wingwaabuddha ... lol, i reply to nearly all comments!! :D oh btw "cougar" means an older woman that preys on younger men!!! :D I'm far from that .. well I'm old, but I don't prey on young men!! lol
Anna, these bring back memories of when I was a little tyke and lived next door to Italian neighbors. The lady of the house made these for supper one night when i was invited over and I havent had them or thought about them much until your post. Now I MUST make these! Thanks for the great page and the memories on this dish!
OMG I've had a packet of Arborio Rice hiding at the back of my cupboard for ages. Guess what I'm going to do with it? Thanks for the delicious recipe :)
I've actually had this recipe before and they are so good. My mouth is actually watering. You have to be careful how fast you put that melted cheese in your mouth or you will burn yourself. Other than that they are good.
I think it's great that you've worked up to something this unusual (well to some) and interesting gradually! Arancini always seemed kind of challenging but I enjoyed your explanation. And you've such a friendly manner about you lol...bodes very well for a cooking show :)
That is very simple and yet it looks like it should be nice. This kinda thing is very practical. I gotta give it a go sometime. They do look delicious and I feel like running to the kitchen to make them right now, too. Thanks Anna : ))
oh my gee! this looks good!
