Yeah..might want to learn a bit more about the project before you start blasting it. And Unless you're sure there is a track listing and credit list...so unless people can't read they should know it's not Patton's own stuff. But he certainly knows how to add a little of his spin.
This group is a cover group. That is the point. You act like he has no original stuff, you want original go listen to tomahawk, fantomas, mr. bungle, kaada and patton, patton and the Xecutiners, Faith No More, crudo, peeping tom, or lovage. All of which are originals.
The original song was sung by a gutsy vocalist called CHRISTY. Anyone putting in 'Christy' and 'Morricone' in the search field above will be taken to a page including the original of this and other Christy performances: do check out especially 'La Resa dei Conti' ~ The Settling of Accounts, called in English 'The Big Gundown'.
Sadly, my favourite by her -- 'Al Messico che Vorrei' for "Tepepa" -- has not yet been made available by some unknown, altruistic soul.
this is by Morricone from the movie Danger Diabolik. The rest of the soundtrack is amazing, especially the organ tracks. Great song. Patton is soaring. love it.
No, the original version of this song was written and recorded by Ennio Morricone for the movie Danger Diabolik. Morricone is a HUGE influence for both Patton and John Zorn. Check out the albums 'Crime and Dissonance' on Ipecac and 'the Big Gundown' on Tzadik and all of Morricone's soundtracks from the 60s and 70s. He's truly great.
