a Lil bird told me Steve and Johnny were out to lunch together a while back -- lets hope a reunion is in the works-- Derrick -- I love ya man -- but you aint Vines
QR was with Lep in the fall of '88 still got my stub - saw Lillian at the creek, dock, saw em at bar nothing, close to raymond, saw em at the old rodeos in Jackson
fantastic show, i was there in front of stevie taking pictures.. i was like 15..anyhow rob if you have these on video or dvd let me know i have the negatives from that show .if anyone wants to buy some of the photos let me know
Cool. I was privileged to see them twice, once with Ratt and Queensryche in Biloxi on Jan. 24, 1987 and then by themselves at the Gulf Coast Coliseum Convention Center in 1987, I think. I also met the entire band at an Aerosmith concert in April of 1988 in Jackson, Miss. They were all pretty charred that night, but so was I. After all, it was the '80s!
Queensryche opened for Leppard in '88 or 89 on their Hysteria tour. Queensryche was out in support of Mindcrime. It wasn't long after those dates that the record took off & QR started headlining.
Saw them in Jackson. Although they opened, QR put on a much better show.
DL sounded fine & had a helluva light show, got a bit boring.
I caught them w/ Ratt & QR in Jackson the next night. Johnny Vines was singing for them at the time. The show you saw at the Convention Center, was that the one that they did back-to-back performances?
If so, I saw them there too. Stevie had his blk & yellow EVH stripe Charvel then.
Yeah, I saw them the night of the back-to-back shows at the Convention Center, but me and my bud only stayed for the first show. Our other friends stayed for both and said more people were at the second show. As far as the Ratt/Queensryche and Lillian Axe show on the Coast, the exact date was January 24, 1987. It was my birthday. I didn't remember that they played Jackson the next night. I lived close to Laurel, so I used to go to lots of concerts in both Jackson and Biloxi from '81 to '89.
This takes me back!!! Lillian Axe were motherf*ckers !! Always a phenomenal show...and hearing Stevie was always worth the trip. I remember the singer's old band Stiff was pretty badass too!!!
i remember those days well - great rockin bands starting out in the smaller clubs and being able to stand literally right next to them as they played on those oh so tiny stages crammed in with all their equipment and band members.
98 rock this is lillian axe whats your request....Hey can you play some Metallica? Metallica dont you wanna hears some Lillian Axe.....Hell No Lillian Axe sucks!! Berr spews out of my best friends mouth.. :) ahh the memories..
The Warehouse show! I must disagree that they suck. They were a pretty darn good band. Stevie could hold his own with any of the guitar heroes of the era. Ron had a good rock voice as well.
They had alot of catchy songs that touched on more than just they typical sex, party, & rock n roll cliches of the 80's.
Certainly nothing wrong with those subjects though.
If you want the money from Lolly, just go to any LSU home football game and you'll see him on the sidelines before the game.
This must have been when they got the new secoinbd band right after signing to MCA not really sure why the label made thm change singers and bass players looks maybe?
the other singer was pretty good very unique if any of you ehard circus coems to town one of their best tunes wih the old singer.
nah shawn, this was at Whats Up in Slidell LA. I was there and got the vid from the dude who taped it..

I think White Lion opened that night or Queensryche did. One of them opened for Def Leppard in 89.
