i remembered on going on this ride in 1978 when I was 6 years old... I LOVED it and it seemed so real to me.... I think they should bring it back with modern technology and new information obtained from what we know of the solar system...That would be INCREDIBLE... All of the great rides that I knew then are now no more... and of course who could forget the Country Bear Jamboree?
@boalber That's a different ride. Mission to Mars was at the Magic Kingdom where Stitch's Great Escape is now. Mission: SPACE is completely different from Mission to Mars and is in Epcot where Horizons used to be.
I remember going on this with my day camp back in 1985 at disneyland, it was pretty intense, then again, I WAS 5 years old lol, I even remember that part with the bird
LOL me too...I was 5 in 77...but went on the ride when I was 6 in 78...My parents took me to Disneyland for my 6th birthday...remember every bit of it...
@Someotherguyuser I haven't found any videos of the ride at Disneyland. Only videos of the outside. But the pre-shows and rides were both identical so you don't need to worry about finding a Disneyland video.
When Disney first introduced this attraction I really dug how the seats you were seated in would decompress to simulate a liftoff pushing you down into your seat. By the last time I went on it a few years before Disney phased it out the seat decompression was so out of sync with the movie screen on the floor it was sad...no make that pathetic. I was like " What in thee hell is this " ? LMAO
I wish I was around when this ride was around I remember when alein encounter first got built I miss both of those rides I would love to ride this ride thanks for posting rip mission to mars and allien encounter
