  • oh my gosh that is funy

  • this is real!

  • Yes,this can't be fake.Supportive facts r in 3 continuous replies:

    (PART1)

    1.Height of plane-

@ 0:05,draw chord across Moon's disk between points where disk intersects frame of video(line AB).Imagine a line perpandicular to AB drawn away from centre of disk.Move it along AB until it's length is maximum(line CD).Diameter=([{CD*CD}+{AB*AB/4}]/CD).For me CD=12mm,AB=120mm so diameter=325mm.Wingspan of plane=66mm.So,wingspan subtends(66/325)*(angular size of Moon)=0.1 deg.(Contd. in next post-PART2)

  • (PART 2)

Tail fin of flight is visible edge-on,so obliquity of wingspan if any is small, and we can safely consider 0.1 deg to be angular size of wingspan. Assuming a reasonable dimension of 30m-60m for the wingspan and using trigonometry, turns out the plane is flying at a height of atleast 18 km (maximum height around 35 km, but within 50 km for all practical purposes. Formula is, height approx. equals ["wingspan in metres" times "co-tangent of 0.1 degrees"]).

    (Contd. in next post- PART3...)

  • (PART3)

2.The film of smoke is translucent through which craters are seen and it's real time dissipation and trail left behind the craft look natural.Faking this would be difficult,if not impossible.

3.As for the white dot,a light source on fin seems to be convincing explanation;or it could be Moonlight reflected off the wing, which combined with atmospheric refraction makes the dot appear unattached to plane's body.

Just in case this is fake, the guy is real Genius!

    Either way,he deserves credit!

  • @kanakTheGold The angular size of the Moon is actually 0.5 degrees (nearly 31 minutes) and NOT 0.1

  • @Neueregel Yes, that's true and the same value was used. What the equation meant was, " angular dimension of wingspan = [(66/325)*(angular size of Moon)] = [(66/325)x(0.5 degree)] = [0.1 degree, approximately] ", which for the lack of comment space couldn't be expanded in the original post.

  • @kanakTheGold How do you get that 66/325 value? Is that arbitrary?

  • @Neueregel For this, one can pause the video @ 0:05,with the plane appearing against Moon's disk. Using some geometry, I obtained diameter of Moon's circular disk= 325 mm (as appearing on my monitor's screen). On how to measure diameter without viewing entire circle, you could refer the explanation in 'PART1'.

Similarly, the aircraft's wingspan measured 66 mm. At the small angles we are dealing(less than 1 degree), if 325 mm corresponds to 0.5 deg, then 66 mm corresponds to [(66/325)x(0.5)]=0.1 deg.

  • @Neueregel And of course, measurements taken again will result in values slightly different than 66 millimeters or 325 millimeters, but the idea is the ratio-

[(length of airplane's wingspan in millimeters) / (diameter of Moon's disk in millimeters)]

would remain almost the same as given by (66/325), which is approximately 1/5 or 0.2 .

  • @kanakTheGold And how do you measure that? I mean, do you apply a ruler to the image and measure the distances? That would involve many approximation errors. Did you round your values?

  • @Neueregel Yes, I used a ruler to measure images over the screen. Measurements were double checked to be correct to the last millimeter, the smallest unit of distance marked over a ruler. So, no round off or approximation was required. That said, atmospheric refraction could have very slightly distorted Moon's disk or the craft's image, thus yielding "not THE EXACT" measurements. Again, such inherent discrepancies wouldn't significantly alter the observed values.

  • @kanakTheGold Correctly. As I imagined. However, the use of a ruler entails a lot of of approximations errors at least. plus-minus 1-2mm. So, you can't really be sure if the ration [wingspan over moon diameter] is more or less than 20%. Also, I suggest not to use decimals but arcminutes, so let's say that that plane had a ~6 arcminute diamater. The human eye can even barely resolve between 2 objects half of an arcminute apart. (approximately Jupiter's diameter size = 35-40 arcseconds)

  • @Neueregel True, with d crude method we're talking of,one can't be sure of exactness of results even upon conviction. However, thinking of probability distribution,we can say dat d probability of it being in range 5.5-6.5(units in arcmins) is highest with lesser probability of it being in range 4.5-5.5 or 6.5-7.5 and much lesser in range 3.5-4.5 or 7.5-8.5 and so on.Also dat u mention bare resolution to be ~35 arcsecs, wonder how detailed an object about 10 times it's size would appear to nakedeye!

  • @kanakTheGold Not reallly many details even with , 10x 35/60 arcsecs = 5.83 arcmin about 1/5 of the Moon diameter. For example Jupiter is about 35 arcsecs across but even with 10x binoculars you can hardly resolve anything except one bright symmetric little disk. No Jupiter bands can be seen with 10x, you need at least 30x zoom to do that, and about 50 x to resolve the Jupiterian Great Red Spot - its Great storm

  • It's Real but believe whatever you want. It's not like the plane is in space like some people think this is shot trough a telescope. The plane flew across the field of view!

  • fake duuuuuh

  • lol so fake

  • Fake

  • It's just gas from my cunt. I have thrush. Fake.

  • try to pause it in 0:05 fake!

  • Chuck Norris's landing on the moon

  • i see a UFO on you video.... 0,05 min

  • @Pumuckel1212 omg! no way! a white dot! that means its 100% UFO -.- i do hope you was joking :L

  • it looks like a baby airplane from a baby cartoon.

  • I believe this was flight KL793 from KLM going to Japan.

  • @Knuffelaar1970 hahah KLM would never send 737 to japan

    Cheers!!

  • wow! that was cool!

  • Interesting- the slightly reddish color of the contrail shows that the light from the moon is scattered more at short wavelengths, a good demonstration of rayleigh scattering.

  • UFO PORNO!!

  • looks like soebody launched the plane way to close to space on the biggest moutain

  • What are the chances, eh?

  • haha that is wicked

  • I thing is USS Enterprise 1701-D:)

  • chemtrails

  • @ldf399 not

  • bridges, structures ? wtf, u can think every hole or marking is something but its not, now that is just plain crazy

  • it's funny once you know what to look for and where in the moon you can tell the geographic, and what structures are what, people that don't know just look at the moon and are clueless what is going on the moon's surface lol, thanks for the video i can make alot of structures from your video, like the oval structures and bridges

  • @acaticlopez oh please, get a life. I can look at a pile of rocks in my back-yard and see buildings and bridges and faces and statues and bla,bla,bla.....friggen loser.

  • holy shit @soup1223 your right! what do u think it is? it might be ufo

  • obviously B737

  • It's not in the background, it's on the tip of the wing. Cool shot :)

  • at 0:05 you can see a light in the background, that only appears for a second then dissapears

  • PILOT 1(FRANK)..*to the passengers*"...And we are flying at a nice comfortable Atitude ladies and gentleman...there is no turbulance expected so you can just sit back and REEEELLAAAAAAAA!!!!!!"PILOT2(JOE)...JESUS FRANK!!!! WATCH OUT!!!! *Alarms going off...Oxygen Masks falling from ceiling* P2(JOE) What the Hell just happened, Frank?!?! P1(FRANK)....I....I...Cant be sure.....But I think we almost ran Straight Into the MOON!!!! P2(JOE)..Wow...They need to put Warning Lights on that thing.....

  • crashing UFO. That's why there is con trail, err I mean smoke trail....yeah. INtErNaTz

  • That's Superman.....

  • um why was it on smoke

  • Remember my first plane will watching.

Scared the sh*t out of me for a minute.

    Cool nice detail my man..

  • MAYDAY! Did you see the smoke? =O

  • @moglijs It's vapour.. Caused by all planes that fly at high altitude.

  • @JustWickedSwede I know man! That was a joke.

  • Obviously Aliens..

  • planes fly trough 350 miles pour hour

  • looks like its going a little fast for its regular speed XD

  • Huh OMG the pilot is dead! We better go help him before its to late!

  • that plane is a poluting one

  • FAKE!! its just a ufo

  • @NEEDCARS you are not fake you are really stupid

  • @NEEDCARS an ufo

  • O_O Nice resolution!

  • nice fireworks from enschede :P

  • Thats a good one, ive had it happen a few times here in San Diego

  • perfect :) I have similar but not that close..

  • The white flash on the side of the airplane is the flashing light on the wingtip of the airplane. It flashed as the plane passed the cameras view. Just FYI. Yes this is a real vid. No the plane is not in freakin' outer space. You're a moron if you don't agree. There's is no agreement necessary. Those are stated facts. Thank you.

  • space plane :3

  • Lol it's just an illusion.

  • it must've scared the shit out of you

  • first time i saw mine i was like WTF lol ran in with camcorder to import get better look.

  • Hey im just giving you my opinion im not saying it is definetly fake, theres probably a 50% chance that its real but its probably just the angle of the telescope used to video this that makes it look a little bit fake but i think its probably genuine, but the atmosphere interference isnt gonna help much either.

  • To all those who think it's fake, have you spent much time looking through a telescope? Thought not. If you were observing the moon and a plane flew across the field of view, then it would look just like this.

I see no reason for anyone to doubt this is real and what would be the point, it's not a rare event.

  • Its swamp gas...

  • Idiot!

  • Well, I suppose you could say it's fake because the shadows are a bit off but I'd have to go for the obvious reason and say that planes don't fly around in space.

  • I think it's genuine (but very lucky). If it is fake, it's perfectly done. The doubters here are not using common sense. to suggest the plane must be in space is naive. As the moon subtends about half a degree, a little maths puts the aircraft easily in the lower atmosphere. Nice vid.

  • I was really only being ironic, but thanks anyway.

  • lol......wow bro if you're zoomed in on a clear night the sky is black, it least where i come from the sky is black at night, with a moon and stars. I don't see how the shadows are "off". if they do appear to be off in any ways, it is because they are not perfect round craters, plus disturbance of air. That's why you can see the video almost shifting--that's because of heat in the atmosphere. i really can't see why you would think it was fake lol

  • we gathered that planes dont fly around space, Its obviously still in the Earths atmosphere and flown through the almost direct line of view beween the telscope and moon. i have studied this video and now think that it is genuine as its not a rare occurance.

  • Go get a brain, would you?

  • Alas, irony is lost on some. :D

  • I think its a good movie but i still think its fake because if you pause it at 0:05 when the shadow of the tail of the plane is leaving the edge of the moon there is a white dot that appears just to the left of the plane shadow tail (just under the moon) which i think shows that it has been faked

  • the white dot would be a light on the wing. matches up perfectly.

  • Comment removed

  • its a 737-899 but its fake if you look at 0:05 its a shadow and its at the wrong angle for where its heading

  • i must be missing this shadow....

  • Thanks for filming this.

The moon is almost a fourth of the volume of the Earth and is almost 250,000 miles away.

  • fake but cool effects x

  • I probably would have shit my pants If I was just sittin' there lookin' at the moon (dooty doot do do...) SHIT!!!!

  • OMG there it is! SEE A UFO!!! IF ONLY MORE PEOPLE WOULD OF SEEN THIS

  • Often times people really believe such things... :D

  • he should have faked one with her mother's ass getting banged by his father.

  • This is real he filmed moon and then air plane fly in video! This is not fake this is real!

  • I believe you are right too. It is quite easy to see the moon's features with a simple small telescope, so it's very probable that this is NOT a fake :)

  • lolerskates

  • Really nice!! What a great lucky shot to get this. I've seen the same thing two times suing a 6" telescope I have for fun in the backyard. But I've never gotten it on film. Way to go! The coolest thing though is to see a satellite cross in front of the moon. I've seen that twice, in my lifetime of doing astronomy.

  • It's a moth with a bad case of gas.

  • lol thats one of the funniest comments ive seen in a long time :D

  • lol

  • Great video! Planes can scare the hell out of you when you're observing.

  • Great vid. I also have video footage of this happening as do others.

  • Took a closeup video shot of the moon at an airport, the shadow of the plane is the bottom of it

  • o omg that was so not fake haha

  • OMG!! O_o.. a plane!!

  • u can obv tell thats a photshoped vid

  • One in a million shot!

  • mmm i dont get it, how come the plane looks that small when the moon looks so big¿..

  • Are you that fucking stupid!?

Did you really think that airplanes were bigger than the moon...?

    LOLWTF!!

    HAHAHHHAHAHAHAHAH

  • :)))))))) ..

  • no you stupide cunt, what i mean, is that thats the size you would see and airplane using common binoculars...

  • shitXD

  • roflolmao

  • LOL

  • Um, because the airplane was very far away?

HOW far away is an exercise for the reader: Determine the type of plane and its length. Identify a crater behind the plane and determine its angular size (the whole moon is about 0.5 degrees). Knowing the size and distance of the moon, you can then determine the distance of the airplane. You can also determine its speed, of course.

  • Oh my fucking god!

  • HAHAHAHA fucking idiot

  • Great, absolutely great! Thank you!

  • What kind of teleskop are you using ?

  • Fantastic. Thanks for uploading.

  • i`ve also cought 4-5times plane`s,and sometime by accident iss!its not unusual!

  • that aint real.....

  • what a chance is it. but i loved it. wonderful

  • amazing!

  • I like it! By accident!
