@JapasLord he founded the band with piet sielck of iron savior. he written the best songs, he had the better style, the magic on the band, he WAS the whole band in the golden age of the pumpkins. HE is the fucking god, not deris, not kiske, not weiki. KAI HANSEN IS THE FUCKING GOD OF POWER METAL. btw, deris and kiske are both AWESOME SINGERS. but i prefeer kiske's voice, he has the best voice of the whole planet (for me).
I didn't like so much about Hansen voice, although it was excellent and the singing and style was too. Been a fan for 15 years. Maybe that's why the older songs are not so important for me...

andi deris is an amazing singer. i sing so i know. his range is great, he is original. he jumps back and forth to different keys and sings clean and raspy and hits highs. kiske is great, but andi is a genius writer and so original with his voice. he sounds like no one. he his notes that are hard to hit. id like to see anyone who mouths him do what he does. he saved helloween. they are a true band now. all metal heads should be thankful for the genius he has brought to helloween, a band we love

(pretty weird how appears again the same mistake “Weikath-Deris” in credits on the “High Live” album about the song The Chance, written again by Grapow himself..)
@blackraven6449 No one saved Helloween.... They needed a change from all of the in fight that was going on.... so getting rid of Kiske( his leaving The band) helped a great deal listen closely... for the 1 st two lps with deris... andi sounds like he's immitating Michi...

I'm kind of tired of people comparing everyone to everyone else. Bruce dickinson is shot, he never was a very good singer in the first place. Michael kiske is also another case. he was good but i dont think anyone can say he was the best metal singer seeing as that title went to Rob Halford. and andi deris is a phenomenal vocalist or i should say was. . he has to admit he's shot and really cant sing anymore. i saw them live in 08 with gammaray and kai hansen just blew them away.
@RRtradestar I'll tell you who is shot. The last priest show i went to was the saddest thing i ever saw. The whole band including halford were dragging their asses around the stage. Maiden however is better than ever, and dickinson still performs like he is in his 20's. Bruce's voice does sound a little strained now, but maiden has been holding up much better than priest lately.

oh absolutely, I agree with you on that. I mean Halford was absolutley amazing in the 70's 80's and early 90's but he was wreckless with his voice and ruined it.

Kiske's career died when his hair did XD I guess the hair was root of his power XD in the 80s he was the greatest power metal singer of all time but when the did the horrible pop and concept albums pink bubbles go ape = pop rock, Chameleon was a bad concept album.......they went down hill <.< then thankfully they fired Kiske.......who's career dried up and replaced him with Deris most fan boys as they claim only bitch because there was a rumor Bruce Dickenson was gunna take vocals but nope......
The voice is not only "4 octaves, 3 octaves etc.", is interpretation, is colour, there are harmonics etc.. kiske sing low and high notes, but in the low where is harmonics in his voice? Metal is one of the best music in the world with jazz, blues, opera and rock, but get rid from the clichè, please.....
Michael Kiske is my favourite metal vocalist of all time, he can sing very high notes to (A5) and also low notes. He sings through, like, 4 octaves and he sounds amazing. Deris is also awesome to me, cheers...

That way, we wouldn't have Deris singing, and songs like The Time of the Oath, Power, Before the War, Hey Lord!, and others wouldn't exist...C'mon, you must know Deris composes with Weikath. But then, I also prefer the Kiske of today in songs from, say, Avantasia, than back in his Helloween days as well.

oh absolutely, I agree with you on that. I mean Halford was absolutley amazing in the 70's 80's and early 90's but he was wreckless with his voice and ruined it.
I liked priest for what they were back in the day but now they should just go away.
I always liked maidens stage presence so I have nothing against that, I guess I was just never much of a fan of dickinson. ah well to each his own besides this is about helloween right? n whether its kai kiske deris or theyre great

Infants everywhere had finally found a metal band they could listen to without aggravating their parents.
In fact, any parent that finds out that their 3 year-old is listening to Helloween might have the opposite worry: "is our child going to become a boring square??"

Kiske's career died when his hair did XD I guess the hair was root of his power XD in the 80s he was the greatest power metal singer of all time but when the did the horrible pop and concept albums pink bubbles go ape = pop rock, Chameleon was a bad concept album.......they went down hill <.< then thankfully they fired Kiske.......who's career dried up and replaced him with Deris most fan boys as they claim only bitch because there was a rumor Bruce Dickenson was gunna take vocals but nope......

So sorry but the Deris albums are very good..... For me, Better than raw - The dark ride - Time of the oath are the best helloween albums ever.....
It´s sad to see a band like this recording awful albums....

The voice is not only "4 octaves, 3 octaves etc.", is interpretation, is colour, there are harmonics etc.. kiske sing low and high notes, but in the low where is harmonics in his voice? Metal is one of the best music in the world with jazz, blues, opera and rock, but get rid from the clichè, please.....

Michael Kiske is my favourite metal vocalist of all time, he can sing very high notes to (A5) and also low notes. He sings through, like, 4 octaves and he sounds amazing. Deris is also awesome to me, cheers...

For the people that keep saying "Deris sucks", "Kiske is better", and things like that, I think you would like if Helloween has disbanded when Kiske left the band. That way, we wouldn't have Deris singing, and songs like The Time of the Oath, Power, Before the War, Hey Lord!, and others wouldn't exist...C'mon, you must know Deris composes with Weikath. If you cry for Kiske, go listen his new pop songs and forget about Helloween. They don't need fans that still lives in the first two keepers.

Could you please stop praising Kiske? He left the band about 17 years ago and Deris is happening to do a hell of a good job. I don't understand you people...Deris is so talented, he brought a new era in for Helloween. Music evolves, vocals change and Deris certainly kicks ass!

@behemothpl666 Old school Helloween is so redundant. I liked it when I was like 14, or so.These songs have more depth. They still do have some timeless songs, like Halloween, and epics like it.

@100zorba I agree. I actually prefer the Andi Deris era of Helloween much more than the Kiske era. Kiske had - and still has - an amazing voice, but I prefer Deris' songs.
But then, I also prefer the Kiske of today in songs from, say, Avantasia, than back in his Helloween days as well.

@100zorba totally agree, the band was great with Kiske, it was great with Hansen and great with Deris. the only one I really miss is Uli at the drums..btw, even though we may have different opinions, prefer some kind of music instead of another, insulting each other, etc we are ALL doin something really important: WE are keepin good music alive and loved through time! WE FUCKIN KICK ASSES!!!

No se ataquen porfavor aun asi helloween haya desvariado el nivel del clasico power metal-de Helloween original-es obvio que han surgido cambio buenos como malos, no se debe subestimar los cambio de helloween aunque malos y buenos el grupo se conserva genial.Por sierto Helloween no se conserva bien por que ahora crea mejores temas que antes, se conserva por que es una banda legendaria .Para mis gustos me agrada mas que black sabbath aunque choque con muchos no digo que no me gusta sino preferir

Si Weikath huviera jodido la banda esta ya no existiria, los cambios realizados han sido a mejor, jamas habian tenido tanto exito, ni en la epoca de keeper, y te lo dice uno que los lleva siguiendo desde el 84.

Deberías saber que Weikath y sus cambios son los que mantuvieron vivo a Helloween. O te gustó el Chamaleon? es un hecho objetivo que Helloween iba derechito a desaparecer... Pink Bubbles...
