If I can find my videos I'll post them because I got everything on tape. The top floor of 93, the rusty old lockers, the dried blood, the chairs, the broken glass, the dead animals, pretty much everything!
The first few times I went, I was a little pussy to go inside, so I just explored the outskirts. I drove over the cemetery several times, doing donuts in my car with my buddies..I know, stupid..
Then I manned up, got weapons and went with more people...I went inside building 93 and found several animals that were gutted wide open with their insides on the floor, totally disemboweled. It smelt terrible and it was a horrific experience. That same night, I found dried blood on the floor behind 93
When I was 17 I went inside KPPC at least 10 separate times. (I'm 21 now) I was a very stupid and naive kid; I didn't know about any of the real dangers lurking there such as: asbestus, gang meetings, crazy homeless people..etc..
There's some weird shit there...I wasn't afraid of security we would wait until they passed by then run across the path, hop the fence and explore. I saw some WEIRD shit there that I still have on tape on an old external hard drive.
I had the worst luck me and my friends went and got caught by the cops but the place is really fucking creepy and yeah you could get in but you need a ladder becasue all the first floors are locked...And the most important thing is bring people like 20 lols
I went in building 93 here and went to the top a few days ago. No one bothered us except for a bum that was on the floor below us. We had to hide for 10 minutes until he went away so we could leave. But other then that it was a lot of fun. Just everyone should be careful. These building can collapse and I have seen police around there circling before.
@chelseauklove So it is still possible to get in? @negima47 my friend said he went the kings park. As he was heading near the building he saw some shadow figure in the grass and every time my friend looked at his direction he would be talking on the phone (or pretending he is talking) and when my friend got closer to the kings park the guy would like walk parelle to him and when my friend looked at his direction again the shadow figure would be on phone. And he did that till my friend got by the building and went in.

yah ive been here and pilgrim state .. in my opinion pilgrim state has a wayyy creepier presence .. but kings park is fucking huge .. 5x the size of pilgrim .. idk i been here once the only way to get in is a little window on the side of the building i proped a ladder so u dont have to jump down like 8ft . im goin there tn . so anyone who goes just remember .. to go in window on the side of the building with a ladder proped next to it
Its sorta creepy i guess but nothing can ever beat Waverly Hills Sanitorium thats gotta be the best eva Next to cane hill in the UK wich is pritty cool to but this place...i would know i have been its crap! is nowhere as creepy as people say it is so i you think its creepy then your a dum ass totally i meen i have been in some really bad places but this place is just shit cant say anything else than that lol.
At the dance in pilgrim and they used to force these things on people all the time.thereis a fat stubby retarded white girl jumping up and down to like a virgin madonnas song, and in the corner is a beautiful dark haired girl with a womens motorcycle jacket, who took 2 ends of a pencil and stuck it in her own ears.and her eyeballfalls out.And the cakkley old lady her ran the fucking thing is screaming at her get up and move it you hoar,OH FUCK THIS MAN THATS IT
Security is strong, especially for outsiders. The grounds are open to all, its real cool to explore and that is allowed, but if you attempt to go inside of the buildings its likely you will be arrested and spend the evening under the supervision of the corrections department!
@sew11754 Would you be interested in touring a fellow explorer into KPH? I have wanted to go there ever since Byberry here in PA was torn down. @darkesthour12 yes, NYS POLICE, FEDERAL PROPERTY, maybe you've figured that out by now or maybe you are the security. You can go on the college campus, only, Nissequoge (or however you spell it) State Park. THERE ARE WAYS IN ~_~
I second that, they are very serious and the charges often include criminal trespassing which is very serious and will follow you through-out your life.
can someone tell me how to get to kppc from seaford. ive been there a few times a while ago but forgot how to get there and want to go back with some friends and do some exploring

Cool pics, I grew up in town so it was a flash back...Lots of "stories" about that place. At one time they were going to put a community college or university extension using the existing old buildings, I still think that's a pretty good idea. The buildings are actually beautiful if you can get past the tales.
lol ya i dont live in kp i go fs all the way. Some times I go to old dock passing the middle school and I see the Psych center. But he thing is, at night the road its on is haunted
They should jsut clean all the asbestos up, and make it a museum, taht people can actually go in and exploree. That would be ill, and the state would make money, ive never been to kings park, but ive been to Pilgrim and got tickets cuz me and my friends brought bats with us, and the cops thought we were going in to mess with everything, we were just using hte bats as protection, we were paranoid
yo today the fbi was setting off bombs at the Psychiatric Center to test alarms for terorists and you could her big explosions at around 1:00-2:30 pm it was preety cool:P
Me and my friends used to hang out there in 2000 and 2001. The big building was a bitch to get in. We went there maybe 25 times, and were never bothered by the security guards. Fun times.
Things have changed, the area is now a state park and we are attempting to restore the buildings which can be saved and exploring make things much more difficult and expensive, before it was a wink and a nod, no one cared, but now we care very much and the area is patrolled and the explorers are arrested, if you get arrested on a friday, you may have to spend the weekend in jail. On the up side, many of the explorers now help with this effort, they have special knowledge of the old KPPC
We did an extensive run through of the quad over the summer. I noticed that there are steam tunnels running between the buildings. To scared to to explore them though, asbestos. Good luck guys and be safe
I love going to the center. I don't go in the buildings but just seeing them from the outside is still amazing. I really hope something good comes from the lab. My personal vote- but in something towards entertainment- theater, bowling, etc. Something like that. No affordable housing. ugh.
I dig your desire for the exploration of old buildings and history. Take it easy with this. You seem to be a bit obsessive with KP. And don't worry about that stack. It's not going anywhere in your lifetime. It's my business. The cementitious bond of bricks and mortar are an amazing thing. That stack is at least 4 wythe (layers) thick. You'd need a dynamite charge to bring it down.
Its always good to be reassured by a professional and yes in many ways I and my neighbors are very obsessive with the old KPPC, my children's school bus passes under that tower everyday and my home is just a few hundred feet from the center, we are very concerned that the place is made safe, that something positive for the community is done with the place, and that no new housing is built.
I went here with a few of my friends, it's creepier at night, but we couldn't get any closer than the fence because the cops were watching us and stuff
yeah man i rode my bike up the street 3 times a cop was sitting outside my house with a flat bed ready to take my shit away but it was parked =) where do you ride? like legaly
My great grandmother was placed in this hospital by her brother and they gave her electro-shock therapy because she was an italian woman who didn't speak english. It was a very upsetting story to hear and everytime I visit my grandmother in St Johnland's nursing home, I get the chills. It's just very menacing and sinister to me.
so sad, many peoples can share the same experiences. She was in the KPPC then transferred to St Johnlands, what year was this? And so true about the menacing nature of the buildings, that is what I was trying to bring out in this film.
I used to work there in the early 70's wow has it gotten spooky i always remember bldg 93 the real tall one at night with a full moon and sea gulls flying around the top
cool but like my friends brother went in ther and 1 of his friends stayed in the car(for cops) and they had flashlights and the guy in the car said 2 kee the lights low to the ground on the 4th floor so no1 can tell if there in there. and there like.. umm..were not on the 4th floor,so they ran out.
Just checked the site you mentioned, fantastic material, Im going to put a link on the museum's page, rock on, keep up the good work! Have you been to KPPC?
The editing is a bit too predictable and cloyingly switches on each downbeat. I don't know anything about this mental institution, but the video starts out rather blase and remains that way, providing not much of an effect for those of us who don't know this place and cannot project our memories on it.
thanks for the comment, the entire video took about an hour to edit from material I already shot from another project, although your critism is valid, I am happy with the results. And I thank you fot taking the time to comment.
must be a long island thing, i used to photograph an abandoned sand mine, concrete factory in glen cove. It's now a golf course, but boy was it great to explore. While listening to STYX of course, it's in the veins of evry long islander along with the extra iodine and mercury...hehe
Great job - was just as creepy 30 years ago as we wandered the grounds as kids - but then there were patients to add to the mix - many of which would catch a frisbee if you tossed it there way
thanks for the kind comment, strange, but I look back at those days with a smile, many of the patients were just regular people who has a crisis in their lives. I often think that many people on Long Island are just a few paychecks away from a similar crisis. I've build bridges and slept under them, I like building them much better, but sleeping under them helped me to understand our world in a more real way. Thank You
Looking at the footage of the Kings Park complex, I don't see the "lost souls" as described in the lyrics of accompanying music track. I see it more as a land's end for people, who, like all of us, once had dreams and ambitions. The buildings are a monument to human sadness and those who cared enough be kind. Bless every single soul touched there, may they have eternal peace*
I couldnt have said it better myself, You must have worked there, I did, and I had the same thoughts everyday, I felt by my actions I could make a difference in their lives, they were good people, some very ill but many had no place else to go.
I didn't work there. Someone I loved dearly spent time there. A wonderful, brilliant, talented person, full of life and dreams. He burned bright and passed away early, due to his tragic problems... That is how I know, I lived side by side with his illness, cared for him as best I could, watched him struggle with the stigma of a life and condition that escalated beyond his control.
This video reflects just part of the story, hopefully a small part, but it is part of the history which need to be told, but there has to be balance. If you view some of my other video on KPPC, hopefully they provide that balance.
WOW flash back, I usto go here ALOT when i was young. Went from the top where mountains of dead birds/poo lined its floors from birds that had wondered in through broken windows to the underground channels connecting each building to one another. Very spooky even during the day. I remember a friend daring me to spend 20 minutes locked in a tray in the morgue that still had huge old stains on the floor that looked like blood (uncomfortable to say the least. Good times! Any-who..CHECK OUT MY VIDS!
Well thats a first, I have recived many comments on this video here and on other postings, never received a bad word about the music, Just love this song, well goes to show, music is like politics, reasonable people can disagree.
Thanks, I just used some clips I collected over they years, never met the band, just love their music. The band didnt like the video, they said because they werent in it, so I put a still of the band in the begining. I hope to work with them this summer!
Yes, I live right across from the center, my favorite pub is on the other side, so needless to say, I walk home through the center late at night, the stories I could tell!
If I can find my videos I'll post them because I got everything on tape. The top floor of 93, the rusty old lockers, the dried blood, the chairs, the broken glass, the dead animals, pretty much everything!

They should jsut clean all the asbestos up, and make it a museum, taht people can actually go in and exploree. That would be ill, and the state would make money, ive never been to kings park, but ive been to Pilgrim and got tickets cuz me and my friends brought bats with us, and the cops thought we were going in to mess with everything, we were just using hte bats as protection, we were paranoid
skimx99 3 years ago
The state already does make money on it. Tax write-off.
Besides, no one even wants to touch the asbestos to clean it up.

Me and my friends used to hang out there in 2000 and 2001. The big building was a bitch to get in. We went there maybe 25 times, and were never bothered by the security guards. Fun times.
cardieunion 3 years ago
Things have changed, the area is now a state park and we are attempting to restore the buildings which can be saved and exploring make things much more difficult and expensive, before it was a wink and a nod, no one cared, but now we care very much and the area is patrolled and the explorers are arrested, if you get arrested on a friday, you may have to spend the weekend in jail. On the up side, many of the explorers now help with this effort, they have special knowledge of the old KPPC

hey mycousin camped out here in the winter of 2003 i wan thinking abour coming up to camp out is the security still tight
P3ll3GRINO 3 years ago
We did an extensive run through of the quad over the summer. I noticed that there are steam tunnels running between the buildings. To scared to to explore them though, asbestos. Good luck guys and be safe
phrog1337 3 years ago
so true and its is much worse since then, the pipe stealers have spread even more of the asbestos around.

omg go kp =3
i've only been inside de buildings once but it was cool
it would suck if they put new housing there
sobakasuchan 3 years ago
I love going to the center. I don't go in the buildings but just seeing them from the outside is still amazing. I really hope something good comes from the lab. My personal vote- but in something towards entertainment- theater, bowling, etc. Something like that. No affordable housing. ugh.

ahh i live in kp but i never been to pc
ckmepk 3 years ago
I dig your desire for the exploration of old buildings and history. Take it easy with this. You seem to be a bit obsessive with KP. And don't worry about that stack. It's not going anywhere in your lifetime. It's my business. The cementitious bond of bricks and mortar are an amazing thing. That stack is at least 4 wythe (layers) thick. You'd need a dynamite charge to bring it down.
amgenv 4 years ago
Its always good to be reassured by a professional and yes in many ways I and my neighbors are very obsessive with the old KPPC, my children's school bus passes under that tower everyday and my home is just a few hundred feet from the center, we are very concerned that the place is made safe, that something positive for the community is done with the place, and that no new housing is built.

Lnert 4 years ago
so sad, many peoples can share the same experiences. She was in the KPPC then transferred to St Johnlands, what year was this? And so true about the menacing nature of the buildings, that is what I was trying to bring out in this film.

Did you ever go to the mass grave site?
There's a plaque that says "This mass grave is dedicated to the thousands who lived and died in illness".
I thought mass graves were illegal since the 1940's D=

The editing is a bit too predictable and cloyingly switches on each downbeat. I don't know anything about this mental institution, but the video starts out rather blase and remains that way, providing not much of an effect for those of us who don't know this place and cannot project our memories on it.
flippycanoo 4 years ago
thanks for the comment, the entire video took about an hour to edit from material I already shot from another project, although your critism is valid, I am happy with the results.

Great job - was just as creepy 30 years ago as we wandered the grounds as kids - but then there were patients to add to the mix - many of which would catch a frisbee if you tossed it there way
123trollz 4 years ago
thanks for the kind comment, strange, but I look back at those days with a smile, many of the patients were just regular people who has a crisis in their lives.

CiassyLo 4 years ago
I couldnt have said it better myself, You must have worked there, I did, and I had the same thoughts everyday, I felt by my actions I could make a difference in their lives, they were good people, some very ill but many had no place else to go.
sew11754 4 years ago
Sew:
I didn't work there. Someone I loved dearly spent time there. A wonderful, brilliant, talented person, full of life and dreams. He burned bright and passed away early, due to his tragic problems... That is how I know, I lived side by side with his illness, cared for him as best I could, watched him struggle with the stigma of a life and condition that escalated beyond his control.
CiassyLo 4 years ago
This video reflects just part of the story, hopefully a small part, but it is part of the history which need to be told, but there has to be balance. If you view some of my other video on KPPC, hopefully they provide that balance.
sew11754 4 years ago
WOW flash back, I usto go here ALOT when i was young. Went from the top where mountains of dead birds/poo lined its floors from birds that had wondered in through broken windows to the underground channels connecting each building to one another. Very spooky even during the day. I remember a friend daring me to spend 20 minutes locked in a tray in the morgue that still had huge old stains on the floor that looked like blood (uncomfortable to say the least. Good times!
