Rudolf Valentino is out of uniform, so to say, in The Sheik. All Arab Moslems must wear facial hair to honor that Mohamed feller. Moslems cut heads off people who don't conform.
I went to the "Sex Museum" in Amsterdam and got to know about him. They even display some pictures of him dancing tango with a woman with his prick jolting out from the zip. Thought that's interesting. But I couldn't find any info about that film.
He died from an infection after he was operated on for a perforated ulcer. His body wasn't what the people saw at the funeral home, or what is seen in the pictures. A wax dummy had been substituted for it, done by a professional sculptor. His body lay down in the basement of Campbell's Funeral Home in New York while the thousands of people filed through to see him upstairs. Adela Rogers St. John, who knew him well, and saw the actual body, said "Rudy looked like a tired little boy."
It's only one of the much rumores that this was a wax-dummy, it's not proved beyound doubt. He died very painful, thats true what say zoolzool1, they gived him morphium, but this dont works everytime. In the end-stadium he had a pleuronitis too, his brother Albert said that was what gived him the rest. He was very brave, but he died lonely and the last ours in agony. I'm so sad, i feel so intensify for him.
He died of a perforated ulcer, like dorsy said. What actually killed him was blood poisoning. Apparently Rudy agonized for several days before he finally passed on. Yes, he was given a lot of morphine, but that didn't always work. I actually went to his crypt and took some pictures. It felt strange being there. Standing next to the resting place of someone who was once larger than life. It was weird but I couldn't believe I was there. It was sad, but very strange indeed!
poor darling, all he ever wanted was to make people feel something when they went to the movies. a dazzling hourly flower, he was. god bless him. may he sleep well and dream of thirst-quenching lust and romance.
I am so blown away by Valentino's smile and his beautiful eyes. He had charm and such a personna about him. I think he was sexy too but his aura of being a gentle soul made him a womans dream man and his handsome face was an added bonus. What a waste he had to die so young.
There was "Ciao Rudy," a play starring the great Italian leading man Marcello Mastroianni. I waited in 1995 for a media blitz of stories marking Valentino's 100th birthday. It didn't happen.
The actual official version is that Rudolph's father travelled extensively with the circus. It is strongly rumoured that Rudolph's father was really a Romani Gypsy, but because of the racial prejudice, Rudolph claimed to be Italian. After leaving the circus and settling in a permanent location, his father worked as a Vet, mainly with horses. Valentino was an excellent horseman and dancer. Italians do it better, but Romani do it best!
Wonder how great he would have been if he had lived and done sound movies....he is still used as an idol some 80+years so he had something lasting...called sex appeal.........
Ok, no one smokes a cigarette like Rudy, or smells a hankerchief like Rudy, or stares a sexy glare like Rudy!!!! Rudy! Rudy! Rudy!!! What a Beathtaking Godly Man!!!! hmmmhmmmm that Rudy!!! Thank you again for your contribution of "fine subject matter!!"

That isn't true. It isn't compulsory in the Islam religion to have a beard or whatever. I know Arabic Muslims who don't have beards or facial hair.

Congratulations. Very good scenes. I am surprised
that Valentino being such a fantastic dancer only
danced a few times . I can only compare him to John
Travolta when Saturday Night fever came out in 1978.
Travolta also a very good dancer, only did a few musicals. You forgot to include the dance scene from
Blood and Sand. I know that Valentino went on a
dancing tour with his wife Natascha Rambova, but I
have seen very little dancing filmed from that tour.
