sorry to inform all of you who thought it was illegal to send soldiers to the streets of Alabama. but it was the ALABAMA NATIONAL GUARD!!! the governor can call the national guard when the state needs help!!!! the Army National Guard has a dual mission, they can be called upon by the President of the USA, and they can be called upon by the State Governor. the National Guard is ran by the states governments. NOT the federal government!!!!

@trilllowkey Yep you are correct. The guard takes it's orders from the state. If the federal government calls upon the guard I believe it must be in cooperation with the states governer. The last time there was a conflict between a governer and President over the used of the Guard was the Wallace-Johnson showdown where Federal troops were sent to face off against Wallace and his National Guard to allow intergration in southern schools.

Why are they putting armed soldiers on US soil, this is against the Constitution. No armed military force is to take up arms against it's own people. First off your a dumb ass. State govt. calls on Guard troops all the time for help with problems. Also many State govt's local counties have agreements with military police to help one another and patrol certain areas.

Also pay attention to this video. You hear a "British" speaker. The UK is a police state that runs anti-American news to scare its citizens into doing what it wants. There is 1 camera for every 14 citizens no guns allowed and they still have the highest crime in Europe.

To call on the national guard is fine, but the troops in NO were troops that had recently been in the ME. You should know that many people down there saw and spoke to troops that were not USGI, they were BW, those are private troops. I also know there is a training base in Boloxi Ms as well as Pensacola Fla which is 2 hrs away from NO. I was born there.
