  • I have 2 different version sets of the Jeffersons seasons 7-11. And in the first set when Yvonne says Deep down inside you probably care more about me than i do my own sons. George ends it excellently by saying. Your right Yvonne I always did. In the TV Land this version, Your right Yvonne i always did phrase is not in this version that i have it is in the other dvd set i have.

  • ...and George knew Louise was in it for the Long Haul. Weezie could see thru George's exterior,She knew he had substance, unlike 'Kenny' who Yvonne went for!!

  • "...I better not hear nothing about black and white again either." Then Tom and Helen Willis appear. I love it.

  • This may be just a TV show but it demonstrates the old adage that

"Behind every successful man, there is a woman"

You hear women complain that "All the good men are either married or gay" but what they fail to realize that is that marriage is the reason that they are good.

It isn't the clothes that make the man, but the woman. Smart women know this, but too many women want a man that is already "made," and those are the "Yvonne"s of the world that far out-number the "Weezy"s

  • @beachkrp

That is the problem with feminism, it tries to deny this fact. Men and women are NOT equal, they each have their distinctive roles. It's a shame that it has become "sexist" to express the Truth.

Feminism, like all forms of liberalism, tears at the very fabric of the universe, which is the very purpose of Liberalism. This is why we are witnessing the degradation of society even as we speak.

  • watch Louise's father. has some connection to this episode. very nice.

  • George is hot ! i like men like that ..confident about who they are..go and get what you want , !

  • Gimme that gotdamn motherfucking gun !!!!!!

  • I really didn't care for this episode.

  • @dsukenick And we care because?????????

  • @rasheed3660 I'm sorry I just felt it weird. George's old girlfriend coming to his house to kill him.

  • @dsukenick Hey, I apologise you're alright with me kid. I just saw that we share the same birthday so you're family now!

  • @rasheed3660 Wow what luck.

  • @rasheed3660 Right today was my birthday.

  • @dsukenick mine 2 buddy! happy birthday!

  • @rasheed3660 Same to you. Thanks.

  • @rasheed3660 Because there are people like George who work hard & get the job done & earn respect for it, then we get to witness the Yvonne's in life who blame everyone but themselves for losing then quitting, something George would never have considered.

  • Deep Ending !! Good acting. Never heard of this lady b4 this episode. Moral of the story: Appreciate what you have. The grass aint always greener on the other side.

  • @theslabbxxx Oh Barbara McNair. She was a wonderful singer. Look her up on here.

  • when u see 4:02-4:08, u can see the lady thru the crack of that door frame. If ralph took notice of that, he would have probably called the cops or have gottan killed with george

  • whose to say she wouldn't try to kill him again. I felt sorry for the woman but she's blaming the wrong person for her problems

  • @Shilpusuresh

I totally agree with human beings being understanding and compassionate with each other. I try to live my life by this. In all fairness, though, you speaking cruelly and disrespectfully to other users who don't even know you for simply sharing an opinion different from yours, isn't so "understanding and compassionate".

  • No bigotry here. I treat everyone w/respect. But I have been disrespected, stalked and harassed by bigots because of my Black heritage. Those people I indeed feel were disturbed on SOME level. So, yes, I consider racism a form of mental illness and often found amongst embittered & resentful people. That's just my opinion. I don't want to "feed" into someone picking a fight with me, any longer. Let's agree to disagree or please just argue with someone else. Have a nice life and God bless.

  • And the reason I say the 70s episodes were a bit better than the ones from the 80s? Well, of course, Mother Jefferson. One of the funniest tv characters EVER.

  • Baltimore MD is a GHETTO HOLE from then and still is today! This DAMN EPISODE IS THE BEST JEFFERSONS I'VE EVER SEEN GEORGE LOVES THAT WOMAN SO MUCH ACTIONS SPEAKS LOUDER THAN WORDS!

  • Though this is fictional, it happens in everyday life. More people need to understand that you have to work hard to be successful in life. Too many people are like this character, who want things the easy way. We live in America, the richest nation on the planet. If you don't succeed in life, you have no one to blame but yourself. Its not easy, but you never know what you can do until you try.

  • "Do I look that stupid to you?"

To me, yeah you do lol

  • LMAO at 1:51, I always find myself laffing at that. She does that so extremely well.

  • This woman truly had a mental breakdown. I mean, she had a COLLAPSE. I saw this episode a few years ago and never forgot it. It seemed that like many embittered, unstable individuals, she was desperately looking for a scapegoat to blame for all that she felt was wrong in her life. I've unfortunately encountered quite a few people of that mindset.

  • @Shilpusuresh ?? I wrote that comment months ago, randomly commenting on an old television show, and just sharing an opinion. What did I say that could've possibly gotten such an angry reaction from a total stranger? I don't even know you and judging from the way you've just totally disrespected me for no reason at all, I don't want to know you.

  • I also just want to add that I wasn't trying to be arrogant or unsympathetic in any way with my comment. The point of my original comment was simply to share that like the character in the show, I had personally encountered individuals who seemed resentful of their own position or situation in life and took out their anger on others. How in the world does that make me deluded or idiotic and why, may I ask, would anyone get so serious over a 30 year old TV show, in the first place?

  • @Shilpusuresh I don't get why you won't stop attacking and falsely accusing me. What is your PROBLEM? You don't know anything about my personal experiences, i.e. months of unprovoked and racially-motivated cyber stalking & harassment towards me from embittered, resentful individuals. I'm entitled to my opinions--there's no reason to continuously name-call me! I don't want to argue with you or anyone else.

  • hows it gonna end so early

  • I love the way how she says George.. her accent is interesting..

  • after he takes the gun. is the best part and lines

  • The ending of the episode was exactly the way it was suppose to be. Like George said, she had to blame herself, and he was damn right. She wanted to blame him for everything that went wrong in her life, but she did it to herself. Everything that George pointed out sounded like the old song; "Don't Let The Green Grass Fool You". One man had more than George did at the time, and because it looked good to her, she left a good man behind and went to the wrong one and had nothing good since.

  • Where was Weezie at the time? I can't believe? Tom and Helen didn't suspect anything odd at The Jeffersons apartment? At least. They could've used their common sense.

  • yeah. horrible ending. how could he let her go. she was also a stalker. i would of called the cops on her.

  • What a horrible ending! Lots of loose ends. Did he call the cops on her? What happened to her after she left George's apartment? They should have let us know!

  • @wiggersbeware Thats why it is kinda hard to do these scenes in a sitcom. But I guess they could of did a two part episode.

  • @wiggersbeware I agree.. also I didn't like the fact how George didn't seem to be terrified.. He even seemed to take the whole thing as a joke which is what I also found odd about this episode..

  • @Jeffrizel1986 He just relied on instinct...to be calm..and not scared or terrified..and to reason with her...and also hes known the lady way before he met Weezy so he probaly knew what she was capable of..I don't think anything was strange about it at all..I myself might even try to act very calm and not panic if someone had a gun on me...cuz when u panic..the first thing they'll do (the person with the gun) is get scared and think u will come after them and shoot.. he shouldve had her arrested

  • @wiggersbeware it pretty much ends right there(I have this on VHS) all that was skipped was George saying she was right, audience sppaulds then it ends and no mention is made of her again to my knowledge... so yeah, lots of loose ends. just a filler episode I guess; with no relation to the story as a whole other than showing how one of georges ex's turned out and what no drive for life and jealousy can lead a person to but luckily for george he survived and no one was harmed. dang good show.. <3

  • I never saw this. A fab performance by the late, beautiful and talented Miss Barbara McNair. RIP. MISS YOU.

  • I am in awe. I have never seen this episode before and believe me, I thought I have seen them all. My close friend was the executive producer of The Jeffersons. Barbara McNair gave an Oscar Award Winning performance. WOW!!!

  • Wow ... what a performance fm Barbara McNair. I'd never seen this episode before.

  • Can you post more episodes from the last couple of seasons.. For some reason I always catch the earlier seasons and hardly see any of seasons 8 or 10. This ep is new to me so thanks!

  • I love this episode on so many levels. I wish it was on dvd

It really sends the message about the path to success or failure and hard choices.

Barbara McNair brought a remarkable performance.

  • @Stablemable2 thats what i love about The Jeffersons, gave hope for Blacks at the time to work hard and be successful. We need some more shows like this now, that aren't just about 'fast money"

  • @metorido You got that right.

  • @metorido She was right when she said he wasn't going to call the police on her, because deep down George did feel sorry for her and did care more for her than she did for own self. I would have called the cops on her ass lol. I'm sorry, just who the hell did she think she was?! The world didn't owe her nothing, and George didn't owe her nothing. She did it all to herself. You want something more in your life, you get your ass out there and work for it.

  • @Shilpusuresh Yeah, my old account was suspended, so has anyone's else on here, including Belgusto, so what the hell is your point?!

  • @ChicagoTyme

    right on !

  • @bossyboots55 Thank you lol

  • @ChicagoTyme2

like you say...go out there and work for it....I did when my I got my divorce. no maintenance or child support. now i have my own home, savings, a relatively good life and my only child has agood education with 2 university degrees. I am not blowing my own horn but in this world no one owes you a living. its good to have your family there for support too.

  • @bossyboots55 True. She chose to get with a drug dealer because he had money, and dumped George. Louise loved George for who he was and she stuck by him. She could have gotten herself together but she chose not to and her youngest daughter probably got tired of her attitude, so she left and is doing better without her

  • @MUSICENCYLOPEDIA It was a numbers runner she took off with .

  • @metorido

i love the way Bill Cosby tells it like it is . He tells the black people jsut this: no one owes them a living. They got to improve themselves. And start with themselves and their children. I love the speeches he gives in schools and universities. Some people say he is racist or traitor to the black people but then again the truth is hard to take. He is speaking facts. One thing he had as a child growing up was strict parents and loving too. That is an important beginning.

  • I know this one by heart don't have to watch it but it's good to have, thanks again! Happy Holidays!

  • @2339235 I know this one by heart too............George in a rare serious mode............Generally speaking the episodes from the 70s were better than the ones from the 1980s but THIS episode here is DEFINITELY one of the top 5 all time episodes. The only thing missing was Mr Bently (though Helen did mention his name at least). I could watch this episode 1000 times and still want to see it again.

  • wow i didn't see this one before.

  • Umm the episode is over?? Did he call the cops or what?
