Problem is, that the contracts for militäry equipment are mostly made in away that the gouvernment is at disadvantage and the slower a new plane or whatever is delivered the more money the firm can make with it. The Eurofighter is a good example. Now they have first planes flying but they still cant carry all weapons. The plane was first called Jäger 90 because 1990 it should be delivered. Thats 18 years behind shedule! And they get still payed lots of money..

Well, one point would be that military spending is wasteful & harebrained. So a huge chunk of the tax dollars that you pay is going down the toilet.
