  • Using lies to promote your event to get spectators is a very good way to get dipshits buying your cars but not a good way to find upstanding and honest people who honestly try to deal with their end of the bargain. You got more money from the federal reserve from this ploy and in turn have caused inflation which will bite you in the ass. Don't you understand that financing causes artificial inflation and promoting it is like signing your own death warrant? Enjoy the crumbs retard.

  • as a bville native, it seems realy hard to keep a secret like that in a town not only that size but as full of little chatter boxes as it is. Does not surprise me at all the Doenges did do something like that. But seriously a truck being dropped from price tower? It would destroy the truck and thats in the heart of downtown, something would have gotten hit. Loved how the crowd was rather large considering. Risky move Doenges, risky.

  • Gods... That was pointless. And people wonder why i don't like this town >_>;

  • gayer than aids

  • I thought it was a good idea to coax idiots out of their house, but seriously, a ford truck, a day expected of wind? No plastic blast sheilds, no record of a truck being seen going up, rational thinking says "no". So, It does make a point go across very well, but it's like a live comercial. In the end my opinion.... Meh.... The kick is no good

  • That is some crap

  • Hilarious...Very clever.

  • I remember seeing the announcement for it on Facebook back in June. I knew it had to be a trick because there is no way that the management of an historical landmark such as the Price Tower would allow itself to be part of a shameless promotion involving the crashing of a vehicle. Frank Lloyd Writght would turn over in his grave and it would cheapen the image of the building. People come from all of the world to see that building. The design is 50 years ahead of its time.

  • U sir. Mr tyler can't possibly be living in a town better than bville. GO BRUINS!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • bartlesville is full of idiots, so im not suprised. go to hell you ignorant fucks

  • OMG! i was there and i was PISSED!!!!!

  • i was there i think it was dangerous because some one could of died of heat stroke

  • Forget the fact that you could have been killed by a falling truck? Idiot

  • Shame Shame on you Bartlesville!

So Doenges didn't drop a Truck from Price Tower they played a little prank.

Promoting Price Tower and Down Town Businesses wasn't enough they gave away Money,T-shirts and passes to the game the next night.

Those of you that believed they would really drop a truck from that building should have you head examined.

Doenges: Wonderful marketing and support of our town

  • I was standing right next to the camera angle 10 sec into the vid, I think I saw someone with a camera there too, how cool!

  • Actually, I think it hurt their business to be honest. It was stupid. People came from all over and it was false. They didn't drop a truck, they dropped a banner. Stupid Doenges.

  • I dont really agree with you cyatremend - the dealership said at the start it wasn't about selling trucks as much it was about calling attention to the price tower and getting the public to engage in debate about its importance... and I just read in the news that as of yesterday they had sold 4 trucks. I worked at a dealership in college. Four trucks in a week is huge, let alone from two days of sales.

Smart marketing? Who knows? But we are still talking about it four days after it happened...

  • I think that this was a failed attempt to get everyones attention to the car dealers world because all the money wasted on commercials pulled no customers. The outcome, in reality just another promotional gimic, pissed most people off thus detouring people from buying this car. Personally I laughed.

  • the new F150 is as disappointing as this promotion

  • @wavefool

A crane or helicopter I'd guess. No different than when they haul large new chiller units to the tops of buildings.

  • hahaha, they should have dropped a really old F-150.

  • Oklahoma huh, Did anyone ask how how they planned on getting the truck up there in the first place?

  • Bobby, I offer my biased opinion. Well, my opinion of the video isn't biased, at least I don't think so! Your video is great! Thanks for posting it. As far as the event goes, I liked it a lot because it brought so much attention to Bartlesville and the Price Tower. It certainly made an impression (just not in the pavement on the street in front of Price Tower!).

  • Your video is great! How many cameras did you use?

modernokie - You are right that I just joined YouTube. The reason is I went out in that awful heat and changed my plans for the evening because my best friend was so excited about going to the truck drop with me, and I am very upset about this. I came across the video simply by searching Google for Doenges Ford Hoax, and joined to leave a comment. No, I do not work for any car dealership, but I drive a locally bought Chrysler. What do you do?

  • Shirlism and modernokie,

Thank you. I used 3 cameras for this video.

  • Great video Bobby! Very professional!

I noticed someone on the other youtube page made the comment that some of the folks making "positive comments' about this event were new to YouTube. I don't think my comments are necessarily "positive" - but more "nuetral". Basically, I think the over-reaction is silly.

I will say Shirlism - I noticed you just joined as well and only posted on this, and are only posting negatives... you dont work for the GM dealer do you? ha!

  • There are lots of ways Doenges could have gotten attention for the Ford dealership, including announcing that there would be a balloon drop and one of those balloons would contain a certificate for a free Doenges vehicle. There was some poetic justice in that when Doenges tried to address the crowd, no one could hear a word he said because he did not use the microphone correctly.

Everyone I have talked to (at least 20 people) say they will never buy a car from Doenges because of this.

  • First, excellent video, well done.

What do I think? I think that Donges Ford should win the "Lifetime Achievement Award for Assclownery."

This is just over the top stupid, and doesn't do our community any good.. It is a perfect example of why car salesmen are regarded as nit wits and buffoons.

All in all, a stupid stunt performed on the world stage for all to see.

    Shame on them!
