yeah its not quite a rat bike, rats are dirty rusty thrown together, this is a bobber, which to me, a bobber is pretty much just like a retro 50s style bike, (my opinion) I like both but bobbers are probly my fav, nice bike!!

A "rat" bike is one that runs well and looks like it was slapped together out of whatever was available to the builder. If it has five different types of paint, thats ok. If you didn't have an air cleaner and cut up a beer can to make one, great! If it's greasy and mud covered, even better. Basically, if ti's an UGLY, beater of a bike that runswell, you've got a true rat!!

The band is The Reverend Horton Heat. In the US in the 50's a "Rat Rod" was an early open hot rod with a monster engine paint flat black with or without flames or pin striping. Google Von Dutch and Ed "Big Daddy" Roth. It all came out of Southern California

noone knows what the terms mean anymore, well they don't use them correctly... a bobber is i shortened in the rear, usually made into a hardtail, with a springer seat, inverted handlebars... and everyone now thinks it's a chopper when the fork has been raked... true chops and bobs were about taking away anything that was unnecessary... and a rat is a bike that is low budget, put together in the cheapest way possible, not just flat black and red rims... same with kids and their "rat rods"

I agree with two previous comments. A lot of people nowadays don't know the differance between a rat bike and a bobber. This bike is definately way too awesome to be a rat, it's definately a bobber. Rats are cool in their own way too. The trashed up, $1000, flat black, dirt coated suzuki on my front lawn is a rat bike. Cheers, beautifully Harley, man! The paint job is brilliant!
